It's easier to go to uni now you only need E s at A level.
There for they ain't that clever.
Most young people to uni for the social life and travelling after.
Basically they need people in there that have had 9_5 jobs not models and fitness freaks

ffaith · 10/07/2018 12:54

All the boys are pretty much the same this year. My theory is that Jack and Dani are set up to win so the powers that be don't want variety/choice as this may throw up a "wildcard" pairing more popular than the Jack/Dani pairing.

Excuse me Laura didn't choose the age of the guys in there

No but she proactively chose to step forward for 20 year old wes and proceeded to have sex with said 20 year old on tv. She then went after 22 year old jack. There have been plenty of men 25 plus and she has not been remotely interested in one of them. She has though been very interested in the young lads.

And yes I'd have the same issue with a man knocking on thirty having sex with a twenty year old female on tv, then going after a 22 year old one when the first one dumped him.

Zampa · 10/07/2018 13:06

Oh! It didn't attach. I'll try again ...

I’ve said variations of this several times: the idea that Alex would fare better with women in a professional milieu is simply not true. Educated women have higher standards.

He lacks conversational skills, he’s provincial and gauche and is just a bit of a twit.

He gets on perfectly well with the guys who are all thick as mince. He just bombs with women.

Ironically most of the guys, despite sparse brain cells, have more emotional intelligence and nous when it comes to pulling women.

I don't know of any course you need E at a level to gain entrance to a degree. Yes some of the old polys have lower entrance requirements. My daughter needed 3 As, as did her cohorts.

However I don't think it's relevant to who enters the villa. Rosie for example was a solicitor, which takes years of hard graft, and yes you need to be clever, but look how she behaved, arguably one of the worst in there.

Zampa · 10/07/2018 13:15

You also need 3 A' Levels at grade C and above to do a nuclear engineer degree apprenticeship.

unique1986 · 10/07/2018 13:16

I am just saying a lot of degrees like social sciences do not requite A- C grades.
And we all know have a degree now never guarantees a job at the end of it.

unique1986 · 10/07/2018 13:17

Love Island Producers may as well not hold auditions next year, just head hunt them all.
Looks over personality every time and 6 packs.

unique1986 · 10/07/2018 13:20

Wes has half a brain but that's it. He is not fully educated he is only 20. No degree yet or experience, he has probably only been in his job for a year or less.

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 13:20

The thing that was so great about the first few series of Big Brother was that it was such a diverse mix of people who might never come across each other in real life being thrown together.

Now I know that LI is not BB and the objective is different, so I guess you need more like minded people, but they are literally clones of each other. I mean how many of the guys are PTs?

I would love to see a LI with a more diverse range of people. I don't just mean ethnically or size wise, but life experiences etc. I said on another thread a divorcee LI with older people would be awesome because you would automatically get more diverse experiences.

Bluntness100 · 10/07/2018 13:20

I'm not sure where rhis is going really. I don't think the poster who mentioned degrees was concerned about their long term employability,

But no most degrees, if any, you can't get into with E at A level. Confused

And exactly. Nuclear engineer, doctor, solicitor, I don't think they are particularly uneducated, just a fair mix.

falang · 10/07/2018 13:20

I wasn't surprised at josh being in bottom 3. I can't stand him and no one I know likes him either.

Bluntness100 · 10/07/2018 13:23

I genuinely don't think that's the case. He works for one of the big nuclear power plants. A trainee sure, but I doubt he's an idiot, and it seems he is a young man on a good career path.

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 13:24

So that's 3 out of how many (24 altogether so far?) have 'educated' jobs? Not exactly a 'fair mix'?

I guess most young people who do have proper jobs can't just up and leave them for 8 weeks.

unique1986 · 10/07/2018 13:24

Anyway.
I just no not judge on someone having been to uni or not.

unique1986 · 10/07/2018 13:25

do not!

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 13:28

Actually what I said there is unfair. I'm not equating hairdressing, a salesperson or a dancer as not a 'proper' job. Its just that is does seem to be weighted heavily in favour of PTs and Insta fame types.

Actually the one who gets the most piss taking about their job is Jack selling pens.

What does Dani actually do for a job?

RoseWhiteTips · 10/07/2018 13:28

Alex is not an Englishman; he is Welsh.

unique1986 · 10/07/2018 13:28

Doctor, solicitor are not your average person with a degree though.

MissDollyMix · 10/07/2018 13:30

To be fair to Wes (and I'm not keen on the bloke), the way he talks in conversations, often very calm, amicable, measured, I can imagine he'd make an excellent employee and undoubtedly good management material. He comes across as quite bright (testosterone based decisions aside).

areyoubeingserviced · 10/07/2018 13:30

It’s not so much that they haven’t been to university. It’s that most of them seem to lack anything resembling intelligence .
As others have said, they are one dimensional characters.
All tits, tight trousers and tattoos

MissDollyMix · 10/07/2018 13:31

Rosie might have qualified as a solicitor but according to our research she wasn't kept on by her firm after she did her training contract, she's not a high flyer.

unique1986 · 10/07/2018 13:36

I wish Alex 2 had stayed least he was not a PT.
