Waffle The Wonder Dog

If I have to watch this programme once more I’m going to go out of my mind! I’ve been singing the theme tune all week! Anybody else in this kind of hell?!!

My DD is obsessed. I could recite every line of every episode. Small compensation is that the Dad is a nice bit of eye candy for a change, better than Topsy and Tim’s Dad at least!

Yes it is very weird (putting it mildly)
Though am just grateful that it's giving me a break from biggleton. (If i have to hear eammon holmes "singing" again i don't know what i'll do!

outerspacemummy · 09/03/2018 23:38

Haha! I find his spoken voice quite soothing.

Haha - yes I was initially pleased it gave me a break from Biggleton but the song is in my head all the time rather than Eamon!

Odd but ds seems to like it. They do seem to invade the lady next doors house a bit too much for my liking. She just wants peace and quiet but gets a family washing their dog in her kitchen!

sorenipples · 10/03/2018 17:35

I haven't watched the latest episodes yet so no spoilers please, but does anyone else think there is chemistry/flirting between the dad and A.J. (the friend's mum)? Also is he a SAHD, nothing wrong with that but seems odd when they have only just got married and with school age kids.

I have been made to watch the same two episodes far too many times.

Yes I too am suffering, my 4yo lives this show. Only consolation is that it's not Bigglefuckington

Theme tune is very earwormy, cute to hear her singing along though..

Altogether now!

Wafffle DOGGY!

Amummyatlast · 11/03/2018 17:53

We've had it all weekend on repeat!

Tomorrow I'm going to go to work singing. "Waffle doggy. Waffle doggy. He's such a clever dog. He's such a clever doggy-wog!"

FoofFighter · 11/03/2018 17:55

I thought it was such a clever dog, you areeee... (woh woh woh woh woh)

overinvested

Amummyatlast · 11/03/2018 18:07

DD has been watching it on the iPad with subtitles on, so it definitely has "such a clever doggy-wog" at some point.

Amummyatlast · 11/03/2018 18:10

But could have been dodgy subtitles as the version I just watched as "such a clever dog, you are".

GeekyWombat · 11/03/2018 18:13

Oh God. I’d just got the song out of my head and reading this has kicked it off.

DD has put her toy dog (now renamed Waffle) at the bottom of her bed every night this week and insists its woofing is keeping her awake.

The only thing worse is Bitz and Bob, which I don’t think actually starts until tomorrow but she’s found one sole episode of on iplayer and watched approximately 42 times this week.

RozTheSchnoz · 11/03/2018 18:52

Yes - my two are obsessed with it (just watching it now in fact) and I cannot get that theme tune out of my head. It's the new Topsy and Tim in terms of my children's obsession with it/ my level of annoyance Grin

ShiftyMcGifty · 11/03/2018 18:55

Same fuckers who made Topsy and Tim.

PanannyPanoo · 11/03/2018 20:38

I haven't heard me of it before and heard the theme tune for the first time today and thought it was "awful doggy" which seemed a bit harsh.

outerspacemummy · 11/03/2018 21:23

Glad to see I’m not the only one suffering! Need to stop these dark thoughts about Simon! It’s kids TV!

OP posts:
SequinsOnEverything · 25/03/2018 10:40

First time I watched it I hated it, but I don't mind it too much now. Although I can't help commenting on bits. Who has a snowball fight in their house?!

I quite like Simon too 😶

sorenipples · 25/03/2018 12:02

Waffle doggy. Waffle doggy. Such a clever dog. Such a clever dog you are. Ah ah ah ah are!

ShiftyMcGifty · 25/03/2018 16:08

Tsk, Sore. It’s waffle doggy WOOF WOOF waffle doggy WOOF WOOF...

Ha, I almost called you Soren. Thought your name was Soren iPples (like some clever play on Apple and ever product starting with an i)

squiz81 · 25/03/2018 21:10

I like the song Grin
The dad is annoying though...his lowest point being when he joined in with the pillow fight / feathers everywhere thing that was going on when the well behaved dog was visiting.

KittyB52 · 27/03/2018 08:36

Waffle the wonder dog is just awful. Almost ‘Justin’s House’ bad. Oh yeah, and Bitz and Bob is dire too. And whatever other nonsense is on with the character that exclaims ‘Oh, my sequins!’ Hmm

I have grown to love Biggleton - the kids are quite sweet (especially the police man and his epic dance moves) and I do enjoy the ‘who gives a shit?!’ vibe in Eamonn Holmes’ voiceover. Grin

Alltheprettyseahorses · 27/03/2018 09:25

This show really gets on my nerves. Waffle is such a badly behaved dog and all the family do is stand and simper at it. I'm with their poor neighbour.

ShiftyMcGifty · 27/03/2018 10:28

Squiz and that scene and the end... all the kids running downstairs and jumping on the furniture and the parents join in with idiotic grins on their faces ... we’re mad, us!
as the polite parents watch them modelling shite behaviour to all the children.

EeekPreggoAgain · 02/06/2018 19:20

@sorenipples Every time it’s on my OH comments on the “sexual tension” between those two! Lol

Reggie256 · 31/07/2018 17:40

Hate it with a passion; unimaginable drivel!
Are we meant to think the neighbour is being unreasonable because I utterly fail to see the humour in the family of dimwits letting their "clever" dog run riot in SONEONE ELSE'S HOME!

4GreenApples · 02/08/2018 00:32

The neighbour is coming across as being as mad as a box of frogs in the episodes I’ve seen.

And WTF is going on with Waffles having a (not so) secret tunnel into the neighbours house?? Confused
