Can we please have a comic relief thread purely to share the take that live if anything else? (We'll have more of them please BBC)

OP posts:
WhataHexIgotinto · 24/03/2017 21:07

I love Ed Sheeran. I think he's a good person.

AlexanderHamilton · 24/03/2017 21:09

Has the Stephen Hawking sketch been on yet?

Fairylea · 24/03/2017 21:09

Gotta love Ed. He has a heart of gold.

I am incredibly moved by some of the stories. It makes you realise how lucky we are just to live where we do.

Babyblues14 · 24/03/2017 21:16

Russell Howard seemed like he didnt give a shit and just did it because he had to

228agreenend · 24/03/2017 21:18

I found Russell's segment quite moving.

southeastdweller · 24/03/2017 21:20

Russell didn't seem moved, really. I wonder how much he's donating, and the other celebs?

AlexanderHamilton · 24/03/2017 21:23

Biscuits - really?????!!

Babyblues14 · 24/03/2017 21:23

There was no emotion at all, ed sheeran cried and the mum and daughter who went to the dump site with the family both did. Russell seemed pretty scripted

Sandsnake · 24/03/2017 21:23

That's a bit harsh on Russell, everyone has different ways of coping with things like that. I'd probably be the same as him, because as soon as I displayed the tiniest bit of emotion the floodgates would open and I would be no good to anyone.

Babyblues14 · 24/03/2017 21:24

I gave up on the biscuits when bourbons were beaten by custard cream...wtf?

ThursdayLastWeek · 24/03/2017 21:28

This is not a vintage year it it?

Though the Liberian children are breaking my heart over and over and over again.
I suspect that little girl who died is around the same age as DS2 which somehow makes it harder to bear.

startwig1982 · 24/03/2017 21:30

I've been watching for an hour but haven't found anything funny yet. The films from Liberia are so hard to watch though.

PolaDeVeboise · 24/03/2017 21:31

Thought TT were great, love them. I hate to say it, but the French and Saunders bits have been total cringe - not funny AT all. The films, as always, are incredibly sad and, ultimately, that's what makes people cough up.

DuaneDibbley · 24/03/2017 21:32

It's like a 6th form school production

Sparklingbrook · 24/03/2017 21:33

More Year 6 really.

CotswoldStrife · 24/03/2017 21:33

I haven't been watching closely but it does seem a bit crap on the comedy front this year. We have the noses, badges, stickers and are currently baking the recipes and school did a dress red day today for charity too. It's just the TV show that is not it's usual self.

Sparklingbrook · 24/03/2017 21:34

Urgh Love Actually. One of my least favourite films.

Babyblues14 · 24/03/2017 21:36

cant do love actually without alan rickman Sad

ThursdayLastWeek · 24/03/2017 21:44

I absolutely love Love Actually, actually Wink

But mostly I just enjoy Bill Nighy in it. He had such fun in the original.

startwig1982 · 24/03/2017 21:51

Well that was the highlight of the night!

228agreenend · 24/03/2017 21:53

I thought the Hugh Grant speech was quite poignant, in light of recent events.

Quite enjoyed it.

228agreenend · 24/03/2017 21:54

I agree. Bourbons are far superior to custard creams. Custard creams are a bit dry.

I'm glad chocolate digestives are the winners.

Fairylea · 24/03/2017 21:57

I agree Hugh Grants speech was poignant in light of the events of the last few days. I loved it.

Bombaybunty · 24/03/2017 21:59

Who is the woman in the gold skirt?

228agreenend · 24/03/2017 22:03

Lenny Henry looked visabily shocked, and pleased at the total.
