Felt really sorry for Dot tonight. I do love June Brown.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 29/09/2016 20:43

Dot is 78 according to the wiki

SinisterBumFacedCat · 29/09/2016 21:45

Has new producer taken over? Storylines are a bit too realistic at the mo.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 29/09/2016 21:48

We got a letter yesterday that our bin collection day was changing. Thought I was in a soap for a minute.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 29/09/2016 21:57

Made me laugh. Kush shares with Shakil. It's odd that every time something is mentioned on here it comes up, but it's filmed too far in advance for them to have actually taken it from here.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 29/09/2016 22:04

EnidButton · 29/09/2016 22:04

Shock Duff duff duffduffduff!

LineyReborn · 29/09/2016 22:45

I was working for a county council once on a minerals project, and they'd changed collection dates to save a bloody fortune in contract fees, and they had residents ringing up in actual tears about it.

There must be some deep psychological aspect to bins and bin collections.

Optimist1 · 29/09/2016 22:48

But Akire they can't do away with the market - imagine a coffee shop proprietor needing to pop off somewhere and having to ask the hotel receptionist to cover for ten minutes!! Grin

Jasonandyawegunorts · 30/09/2016 02:37

Dot is 78 according to the wiki

I'm very sceptical of that, she was at least 7 in the episode which has flashbacks to her wartime evacuation in 1942.

ButteredToastAndStrawberryJam · 30/09/2016 06:06

It's possible if Dot was evacuated in 1944 and she was 6. She's playing a part of a woman a decade younger anyway.

ACubed · 30/09/2016 06:40

Yes I've noticed it's very realistic at the moment. Family move house!!!! Launderette function changing slightly!!! Bin collections further apart!!!!!
Come on BBC, can't someone get off with someone they later find out to be a family member or something?

Jasonandyawegunorts · 30/09/2016 07:30

yes, that character is younder than June Brown.

It's possible if Dot was evacuated in 1944

Civvy street was set in 1942, she was evacuated by then.
Eastenders wiki says that she was 6.
eastenders.wikia.com/wiki/Civvy_Street

So the character is 80 - 81.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 30/09/2016 09:03

Oh I've never seen those flashback things!

I knew I underreacted to my bin letter, I just read it, said 'bin day is changing to Monday' to my partner, and stuck the letter on the fridge. I now feel I should have chased the man who delivered it up the street shouting, held a summit with my neighbours, and protested at the council office.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 30/09/2016 11:53

The normal reaction is to throw burnt toast at your neighbour.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 30/09/2016 11:56

I'm on it Jason

slightlypeevedwombat · 30/09/2016 11:57

"Kim does make me laugh but one of her comments did hit a nerve when she said about Donna not even needing a badge as she can get up and walk. As someone with a hidden disability, it is slide a slap in the fact when you know what society really thinks of disabled people, especially those with hidden disabilities. "

isnt that the point though? Kim is unthinking and has no brain! I wish they had her being caught by the police using the blue badge and prosecuted - too many people think its a victimless crime sadly

NuggetofPurestGreen · 30/09/2016 12:05

I was wondering was the Kim and badge thing supposed to be funny? With her sneakily opening the drawers etc? If so it was wide of the mark (by about 100 miles).

If it was intended to be a serious thing about disabled parking and toilets okay, but the tone was all wrong, given Kim is usually a comic character. Poorly done either way.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 30/09/2016 12:52

Yes it may have been the point but unfortunately there are many many people who think like this, even if they don't voice it to you and it's depressing. There would probably have been people who saw Kim saying that and agreeing with her.

A mum at school did it recently, not to me, about another mum who was too far away to hear her. Kim is probably more intelligent so maybe that's why.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 30/09/2016 12:55

The last time my account was suspended by HQ was on a blue badge hate speech thread. higlighting the amount of money MNHQ make from having a "The fact is most people with badges aren't really disabled". post at the top of trending.

Lots of people think like it and lots of people will also point blank defend it.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 30/09/2016 13:18

Just catching up. Why don't Carmel and Shaks move into Martin and Stacey's?

BlueThursday · 30/09/2016 21:56

Comparing Belinda to Pat Grin

celeste83 · 30/09/2016 22:05

A wife leading her husband upto the bedroom gets a duf duf duf end credits now. Blatently they are not going to be happy ever after. And is Pat's cocktail bar welded to the floor? It seems to be ever present.

Akire · 30/09/2016 22:42

I'm getting quite obsessive about the bedrooms. Are we to believe they moved from a 3 bed flat to a 4 bed house? Surely it has least 5 rooms?
when Bianca lived there they had her in one room, girls in another , boys on one, pat in one plus downstairs bedroom.

Plus the house seems to have cone fully furnished so why did they ditch the sofa? Yet kept all other funiture.

These days duff are getting stupid! I agree. I'm glad Dot been let go, what life is it spend 9-5 Monday Friday in laundrette. She hadn't had any customers since March! Only people that go in want to speak to her.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2016 22:55

Jamie's was a 3 bed upstairs then turned dining room into downstairs bedroom so 4

Stacey Martin
Lily
Belinda
Kyle
Rebecca

So who will be sharing. Let alone baby Arthur. Where will he sleep. Can't stay in parents bedroom forever like baby Ollie

Obv then kush Shabs and mum will move to 3 bedroom Stacey old flat

Stephen looked pissed off that Martin had the money. Was he going to steal it rather then put in bank?

Poor dot :(
