No Christine isnt going to be strolling into the vic anytime soon they will be private about it.

celeste83 · 10/09/2016 19:57

Do Pam and Les know that Mick & Linda also know about Christine?

I agree Jay's exit was quite low key. Just walking out the kitchen door of the Mitchells. I was also surprised to see Mark go. I thought they were laying down the foundations for him to be a permanant character.

VashtaNerada · 10/09/2016 20:28

It's Eastenders, she'll have the whole cast gathered round the Vic's piano while she sings Doing the Lambeth Walk by Christmas Grin

This storyline is rrally close to my heart so i keep getting really emotional about it. The actress who plays Pam has really captured Pams grief perfectly. She's done an amazing job of this.

I really liked the conversation in the Vic between Johnny and Colin. Shows how far things have progressed to contrast how appalling some people's attitudes still are.

I think that Colin wedding happening on the day of Paul's funeral was set up to remind people that EE has been inclusive of gay people and relationships right from the start and they've been highlighting the bigoted attitudes towards homosexuality for 30 years.

MrsJayy · 10/09/2016 21:22

Ha i so want to see that Vashta Grin

SoupDragon · 11/09/2016 07:55

When Colin and Barry were in it, Barry was under the then age of consent so EE covered the discrimination of that. It went over my head at the time though

SoupDragon · 11/09/2016 07:56

Maybe the exits were low key as they aren't really exits.

MrsJayy · 11/09/2016 09:27

Was he Soup must have gone over my head too. I havn't read that Jayis leaving so probably the actor is on holiday

southeastdweller · 11/09/2016 09:50

The Colin story didn't work for me. I don't buy that her and him are still friends (have they even seen each other in the last twenty-six years?) and I also didn't buy that she'd so quickly change her mind about gay marriage. I remember Colin from when he was back in it and it was nice to see Michael Cashman (still a good actor) but the story could have been done better. Robot Johnny was crap in their scene on Friday by the way.

SoupDragon · 11/09/2016 10:11

They discover that Barry was under the age of legal sexual consent for homosexuals when he and Colin began living together, and the police decide to inform Barry's parents (in 1987 the legal age of sexual consent for homosexuals was 21).

I couldn't remember the age but this is from Wiki.

VashtaNerada · 11/09/2016 14:26

Barry's age is mentioned in the clip I posted upthread.

MagpieCursedTea · 12/09/2016 09:05

So is that the Grant/Mark storyline over? Seemed a bit unresolved!

LineyReborn · 12/09/2016 09:29

I feel like I've been watching it all but not quite understanding. Like there's a layer of explanation or resolution that's missing.

celeste83 · 12/09/2016 09:40

The Dot storyline would have been better if it wasn't thrown in the middle of the Mitchell's storyline. It sort of got overshadowed and felt rushed.

I can't see Grant coming back. Ross Kemp is quite sucessful in his own right away from EE with his gangster/war tv programmes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2016 09:50

Christine is going to come back? Wow at pam Saying she needed her !!!

Loved Colin coming back and showing positive sides to gay relationships while we also showing being beaten up as gay

Not explaining very well but I think we tackled both sides well iyswim

So mark and grant now know related

Boring episode tonight. Are we seriously going to be fed a storyline about twice weekly bin collections?!

LineyReborn · 12/09/2016 21:35

Oh God. Bins.

SoTheySentMeA · 12/09/2016 21:58

Why is Lee learning how to change nappies on a doll? Is baby Ollie 18 months old-ish? Has Lee lived with his baby brother for 18 months and not changed a single nappy?

SoupDragon · 12/09/2016 22:00

They covered that- Lee said his parents were such experts he hadn't needed to. Or something equally plausible.

MrsJayy · 12/09/2016 22:00

Lee is a plank that's why

SoupDragon · 12/09/2016 22:03

This was a filler episode I think. Just setting up some "having problems" story for Ian and Jane, Carmel and Masood's relationship story and furthering Sonia's exit.

Denise's fruit is too shiny. Literally the only thing I have to say about today's episode.

Tibblesthecat · 12/09/2016 23:49

So Sonja might be going somewhere more exciting than to Biancas?

I'd prefer to see TIna go than Sonja.

Lee (yawn). Who cares? Whitney (yawn). Who cares?

I like seeing Carmel's feisty side and think the market inspector job will be a good role for her. She likes gossip and is now in the thick of it. I like her character and IMO it feels like she has been in EE for years. Maybe that is due to her not being a newcomer to our screens though?
