the new producer is quickly tying up the loose ends left by the old one

All the old ones by the looks of it, Colin and Dot story line is from 28 years ago. Mark is from 21 years ago.....

Jasonandyawegunorts · 10/09/2016 08:05

It's a bit... disjointed... It was only a few weeks ago Dot was saying how shocking it was that predudice around Homosexuals was wrong and how she thought all that stopped years ago....

Now for this storyline she's more like 80's Dot......

Jasonandyawegunorts · 10/09/2016 08:05

how shocking it was that predudice around Homosexuals was wrong

I worded that badly but i meant the opposite.

MrsJayy · 10/09/2016 08:33

It was marraige she was against as she is so religiious marraige is between a man and woman for procreation but she went to the wedding. The episode was to show how far Gay rights had come in Colins lifetime but how the hatred was still there with Pauls murder, hatred and intolorence and bigotry still exists, it was a great episode I

Jasonandyawegunorts · 10/09/2016 09:10

Yes it was a very good episode.

LineyReborn · 10/09/2016 10:03

How come she married Jim, then? They were hardly likely to procreate.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 10/09/2016 11:59

No questioning how Ben can give his liver to Phil?
How does that work, don't you need to be dead?

unimagmative13 · 10/09/2016 12:18

Who is Colin I've missed this??

Jasonandyawegunorts · 10/09/2016 12:20

The gay guy who wanted Dot to come to his wedding.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 10/09/2016 12:22

You can give a bit of it Jason and it grows (I think!)

unimagmative13 · 10/09/2016 12:22

You can donate part of your liver if you are still alive

MrsJayy · 10/09/2016 12:24

Think they can take up to 60% of the liver thats a lot of liver

MrsJayy · 10/09/2016 12:26

Your liver regenerates

Jasonandyawegunorts · 10/09/2016 12:50

I was going to say it's like the human worm... but there is another part of the anatomy more suited for that...

It's like the Human Doctor Who.

MrsJayy · 10/09/2016 13:17

Your own little Gallifrain liver 😊

mrswhiplington · 10/09/2016 13:23

Looks like we'll be seeing more of Christine in the future after what Pam said to Les. I wonder what Babe will say when she sees him/her.Hmm

I'm sure Ben will donate part of his liver if it matches, cos Phil has to get better to be a doting dad to Denise's baby.Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/09/2016 13:29

Back in the old days when Carol Jackson was living with Alan , she went to her sisters (April) wedding.
Aprils DH-to-Be didn't show up, Carol married Alan.
Jim and one of the brothers were hideously racist Angry

Seems he had a character transplant when he came to live with Dot.

And are we going to see the reappearance of Christine? Pam mentioned about them both needing Christine, that was a storyline on a slow boil then Pfft nothing.

Phil won't be placed anywhere near the transfer list until he's off the alcohol, has he been dry?
I predict a Dry Period (of maybe 3 months) and the Pre Christmas Lead Story of The Living Organ Transplant.

MrsJayy · 10/09/2016 13:34

I think he has to be Dry 6 months. So has The actor who plays Jay left do we know?

celeste83 · 10/09/2016 13:35

I don't understand why Pam said she needs Christine. I dare say we'll see Christine in the Vic next week.

MrsJayy · 10/09/2016 13:38

Christine helps les to be more emotional and comforting I think that is what Pam meant.

VashtaNerada · 10/09/2016 13:45

I love the idea of Christine being the person to help Pam (& Les) come to terms with Paul's death. Genuinely didn't see that coming.
The Colin storyline was weird. I get the point of talking about homophobia in a wider context and it's always lovely to see Michael Cashman - but it felt a bit disjointed and didn't quite work.

Lilaclily · 10/09/2016 13:46

I liked the bit with Colin in the pub talking to Linda's son , forgotten his name
The stuff with dot was wierd and a bit meh

VashtaNerada · 10/09/2016 13:48

For anyone not watching in the eighties...

Tibblesthecat · 10/09/2016 13:58

I wonder if Pam needs a female friend more than a husband. She and Les don't have a relationship anymore. So Christine could be her friend instead? And perhaps they will move away where nobody knows them to live together as friends? I really like Pam, and the actress who plays her.

IslaMann · 10/09/2016 17:35

I agree with MrsJayy. Christine gives Les his empathy and ability to comfort Pam, without her he struggles to be the support she needs. By giving Les permission to allow Christine, he can be the husband he used to be. I very much doubt we'll see Christine and Pam together in public
