Disclaimer You are about the enter a thread full of Eastenders spoilers - if you would prefer not to read spoilers please visit the spoiler-free thread here.

I usually visit DS and Metro Soaps for my EE spoilers.

We have the following to look forward to:

  • 'whodunnit' when Babe finally gets what she deserves
  • Possible romances between Denise & Kush, Claudette & Patrick, Steven and Johnny
  • a 'difficult' storyline for Kim??
  • Kathy & Buster get found out?
  • Dean's trial
  • whatever it is that Ben & Jay are planning

I also suspect that before the new producer comes along that more chatacters will be leaving

Do you think they will screen Chantelle's murder or will we skip to the aftermath? Is she supposed to have been killed during lockdown? I think the way they have spun the storyline has been very well done in that we've seen Grays desire to change and can understand that this is only one part of him, hence why it's difficult for women to leave (no personal experience of this and don't want to trivialise the matter for those that do, sorry) xx

Mrsjayy · 07/09/2020 20:36

In the trailer she is alive the actress was on the Stacy Dooley programme being all upbeat so the murder of her is a bolt from the blue. I record it so hopefully I can avoid anything.

The80sweregreat · 07/09/2020 20:43

I know it happens in real life ( sadly ) but this will be so hard to watch with Chantelle. Karen will be beside herself too.
I hope they have warnings up before they show anything.
Very sad.

southeastdweller · 07/09/2020 20:48

I guess we're in for another cheery Christmas in Albert Square.

The80sweregreat · 07/09/2020 20:57

If someone says in Walford ;
'Best Christmas ever' you know they will fall off a roof in a storm or have divorce papers handed to them or a secret wife or husband will rock up or something similar.
(Mind you, I think Christmas and new year may well be different for everyone this year , to be fair ! )

Figgygal · 07/09/2020 21:02

I read that she dies next week
Admittedly important but I just don’t think I want to watch it

The80sweregreat · 07/09/2020 21:08

It's sad she is going to die.
It feels so bleak and they have done murder before of course. Just not like this.
I just hope Gray doesn't get away with it.

Mrsjayy · 07/09/2020 21:11

I don't think we will watch it either I think it's too much as I said we record so we might avoid it.

The80sweregreat · 07/09/2020 21:14

I think it should be put on later.

MyBeloved · 08/09/2020 11:48

I am grateful they have announced this. I will not watch for the next fortnight. So sad.

JemimaTab · 08/09/2020 15:47

It’s going to be difficult to watch for sure. I’m not sure I’ll be able to. But it’s true to life I guess in that there’s been an upturn in DV during lockdown, and I believe the most dangerous point for the abused person is when they finally leave their abuser.
I hope they don’t turn it into a soapy “cover up” storyline, as I don’t think that will be doing justice to the subject matter. I hope Gray is apprehended immediately so that it can then be a proper discussion of what happened during lockdown, the signs that were missed, etc.

The80sweregreat · 08/09/2020 17:16

This storyline ; It will be triggering for so many people. :(
It's so sad.

southeastdweller · 08/09/2020 19:59

Chantelle's killing happens next Friday:

Washyourhands48 · 08/09/2020 21:23

Oh god, sounds so frustrating and terrifying.

Mrsjayy · 10/09/2020 16:48

I caught up this afternoon it's really uncomfortable to watch the bath thing was horrific and I don't understand why he got her to do it. Anyway I think I won't watch, it's too disturbing.

PhoebeSnow · 11/09/2020 20:11

I thought he was going to pull her feet up and she would drown, maybe that’s what they are planning next. George Joseph Smith married 3 women in that way, The Brides in the Bath cases in 1912-1914 , he murdered them for insurance money, and was hanged. I really hope it’s all much later time slot and that he doesn’t get away with it. It would be appalling if he doesn’t get caught.

AntiHop · 15/09/2020 00:20

I've just watched tonight's episode and was feeling so stressed for chantelle that I googled spoilers as I wanted to know she'd be ok. I had no idea about this spoiler. I feel it's a bit too much for EE. I am very aware that women are at highest risk when they try to leave, but it just feels too grim for a soap.

Chienloup · 15/09/2020 00:27

I think it's a story which needs telling. We had two domestic murders of women in our quite quiet area over lockdown, one a murder-suicide where he murdered his children as well as his wife. It's horrific, and as PPs have said, I really hope this isn't drawn out, I hope Grey is brought to justice quickly and severely.

nevermorelenore · 15/09/2020 13:51

I've had to stop watching as I can't handle DV stuff due to past experiences. I'm glad I saw spoilers for this storyline.

There are some leaked photos from Monday that show Gray in jail and being questioned so hopefully EE won't drag it on too long. It would be pretty tasteless if they sent him back to the square to snog Whitney and finally confess on Xmas day or the sort of stuff they usually do.

southeastdweller · 15/09/2020 14:16

In the pictures for next week's episodes he's back in the square by Friday.

KANNET · 16/09/2020 07:05

My prediction. He kills her in a way that could be seen as an accident. Some believe he was tragic widower, other believe he's a murder. Whitney falls in love with him and won't believe he's a bad guy. Storyline goes in for months until Mitch can prove he's evil and rescues Whitney from
Some peril

Mrsjayy · 16/09/2020 09:18

God yes to all that KANNET Whit will help with the children at first and then get involved with another wrongun. I think Chantelle is going to end up at the bottom the stairs.

nevermorelenore · 16/09/2020 13:01

It'll be so ridiculous if it's the bloody stairs. EE characters should all live in bungalows. They have terrible track records with the stairs. I agree that he'll probably be all cosy with her family until someone discovers the awful truth on halloween/firework night or new year. It's a bit tasteless really.

I wonder if they'll look back at Chantelle's medical records and realise he gave her the broken arm? It always annoyed me that a healthcare worker didn't notice she was covered in bruises.

Mrsjayy · 16/09/2020 13:06

Ash , Iqra's girlfriend was working when she went with her wrist she did ask her if everything was ok and a nurse gave Chantelle pen with a helpline on it. So frustrating as it is if a woman says she is ok then .she is "fine"

Mrsjayy · 16/09/2020 13:08

I really think it would have.sent out a positive message if she had managed to leave him rather than being killed by him.
