I was thinking about it today and also came to the conclusion that it was a homophobic attack and Ben didn't want to tell Phil as he knew that would be even more reason for him to dislike the fact that he is gay. Just the way he said it, definitely more to it. I don't think Ben would have left Paul, he really loved him and was in such a state himself. Although if the writers do go down that route (and it wouldn't suprise me) it will be very annoying as Ben seemed to get over the public display thing and I don't think he would have just ditched Paul like that to take a beating from 4 blokes.

The tea pouring get really got me. Was very poignant.

I love Linda too, will be a shame when she goes.

Shirl is brilliant. She can do the heavy stuff as well as being funny, agree with pp, the smoking in the park with the Pepsi and Shirley t shirt and calling Denise Pepsi was very funny.

Buster's reaction when he brought Ben home really pissed me off. He was in such a state and Buster just laughed and made a huge joke out of getting into a fight.

Missbattleaxe I think that cut and paste feel was deliberate people are killed randomly on nights out or run down going to the shops etc. His mum coming back the boys taking over the undertakers all that story was meant then it was cut short

I really dislike Buster. Could be because he's cheating on Shirl though, and she's just fab. Love any scenes with her and Phil together.

Also, Lauren is irritating the hell out of me. Literally everything about her I find annoying. I'm sure I liked her before New Zealand Confused Admittedly I am hormonal and getting pissed off by most people in general

Yeah the cheating has taken the edge off Busters cheeky chappy thing gone right off him. Lauren is a pain in the arse always sticking her beak in or whinging and her and Steven just dont go.

They did this Lucy and Bradley, they were just about to start business ventures, Bradley with Max and the Car Lott and Lucy was starting an estate agents with Lauren.

Shirley is one of those characters that I think is actually real.

Buster didn't need to know how serious it was. Who delivers a badly beaten child to the mother and stands there and laughs about it! Ben looked a right state.

It was a really weird episode. Peggy's funeral happened and Grant was there. Sam was getting drunk in the pub and left Ricky with Jack then there was this complete sideshow storyline where Kathy went to meet Buster but Gavin turned up and told her to get in a car with him to see Denny. Then they went to this massive house and he started being weird with her. Gavin's sister and Sharon turned up and Gavin went a bit loopy pushing his sister off the balcony. Then he tried to take Sharon hostage. It was a bit strange. I just thought the scriptwriters were bored that day.

I've just thought about it and the whole character of Buster makes no sense. He is, what 50's? He has been in and out of prison all of his life and suddenly goes straight because he gets back with Shirl!

Been doing my usual iplayer catch up session. I felt like I'd missed an episode. There seemed to be no bit with Sam & Roxy handing Richard over to Jack. Or did I fall asleep? It all seems to be going unusually smoothly part from the crisps and chocolate addiction for breakfast. Did I miss something??
