Who else thinks they talk like they have something shoved up their noses?

Or finds Phil a poncey, insipid waste of space and Kirsty a Sloaney cow?

I just wish they'd do a "normal" couple for once. Not necessarily impoverished - just, say, a teacher and a part-time nurse looking for a 2-bed or 3-bed house in a non-glamorous location, with a budget of £150K or less.

Phil seems like a good bloke and I'd shag Kirstie in a heartbeat! I bet under that posh-girl exterior she is really dirty.

oliveoil · 16/01/2007 10:32

Not read all of these but I love Phil and Kirstie, she is gorgeous and he looks very capable in a manly, shaggable kind of way

People on the program however do seem to be living on a different planet

foxinsocks · 16/01/2007 10:35

yes, I reckon he'd be a fox in bed.

I also yearn for a normal couple with a normalish budget or at least, someone who looks like they are struggling with the budget rather than most of the couples they use who all seem to be able to magic an extra £100k from somewhere.

oliveoil · 16/01/2007 10:40

yes but how boring would that be? I can see boring houses out of my window, give me the property porn any day, I love seeing how the other half lives

cremolafoam · 16/01/2007 10:45

i like kirstie's proclivity for extra large buttons.
phil -if indeed he was in the SAS,needs a good slap

i think Phil is secretly in love with kirst and had become a bit more snappish since she shacked up with her bloke and baby.

skiwear · 16/01/2007 10:50

Yeah Aloha bet they won't be too happy in their ex cf now when everyone else knows they have a 600000k georgian house as their "other home"!

skiwear · 16/01/2007 10:50

though when I watch I do sometimes wish they could find me a house!

MrsMills · 16/01/2007 10:50

Oh I love them both, I'm even thinking of applying for their new series, as I will really need some help.

Do you think they'd be up for a special in Stockholm? We have some gorgeous shoe shops

foxinsocks · 16/01/2007 10:52

oh no olive, I yearn for normal people. Those with budgets over £500k can fark off imo. Why do they need their help anyway? It's people who estate agents laugh at when you tell them your budget is X that need P & K's help.

But I must admit, that Georgian pad by the sea was gorgeous .

skiwear · 16/01/2007 10:54

JanH how did they manage not to have to pay the 92K back ? And purchase with no costs/stamp duty etc? Not being smart just curious so I can do it too.
Also have no talent to
a)do all the work myself
b)decorate the interior in an attractive price enhancing way I just can't see what goes with what!

skiwear · 16/01/2007 10:59

Oh and not convinced it was "5 wise moves" or whatever that paid for the house the guy was totally obsessed with "the figures working" if you remember and supposedly they were only paying 500 ponds pcm on the Broadstairs place.

MadamePlatypus · 16/01/2007 11:01

I really like Kirstie and Phil. I will agree that she is Sloaney, but she isn't a cow. She is lovely.

cremolafoam · 16/01/2007 11:29

the answer always seems to be industrial quantities of beige paint.

JanH · 16/01/2007 20:48

Oh they'll still have the original borrowing I assume, skiwear (whatever that was - I don't know them well enough to ask ) plus the step up from £135K - £170K, plus whatever they spent on house 2 before selling it on. And I don't know what they've moved on to either (I will have to ask my even nosier neighbour!)

But they must have cleared well over £100K in equity in 4 years, which is pretty good going round here. We've been in the same house for 23 years; bought at £24K, spent a lot on improvements (some remedial, we bought a crap house) and it's still only worth probably £180-190.
