Hamlet a definite highlight. Catherine Tate definitely not.

That was completely cringey but great at the same time.

Ian McKellen now shitting all over the others. That's how you do it.

Hamlet soliloquy was amazing. The Charlie bit was slightly cringe though.

I've got subtitles on. Some of them are so slow. Surely try they would do the speeches in advance?
They managed to mistype elements as claimants. Freudian slip methinks.

Ripple of polite applauseHmm it isn't exactly compelling.

I like Catherine Tate but she is dreadful at presenting. Am I being really thick but who is this chap and what is he singing?

I've recorded this for tomorrow. Did just have a peak at the Hamlet bit and loved it.

CT seems very uncomfortable and unShakespearean.

Rufus Wainwright singing a sonnet. We had to look him up, and the sonnet

The Macbeth was fantasist.

My dds bought me tickets to see it at the globe for Mother's Day a few years ago. I must admit the thought of standing for 3 hours did not appeal too much.
It was actually absolutely amazing and seemed to last half that time.

I love the acting bits, especially nod they've got the proper actors in.
The singing bits not so much.

I liked Ian McKellen's Thomas More speech. With any luck it'll annoy the Mail a treat, as well.

Great entertainment, I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Yes the Thomas More's speach was, sadly still very relevant and brilliantly done.

Does anyone know the name of the piece of music at the very end, as the credits were rolling? It's annoying me that I've forgotten!

The acting bits mainly excellent, less interested in the others.
Highlights were McKellen doing Mire and the brilliant Macbeh extract. AM Duff and Rory Kinnear should really do the whole thing somewhere. C Tate beyond awful. Why was she doing it? A pathetic attempt to 'popularise'?

And Roger Allam's Lear was fantastic. Has he ever done the full play? I'd love to see him in it.

I wonder if Roger Allam and Benedict Cumberbatch were having a Cabin Pressure reunion behind the scenes?

Saw it at the cinema an enjoyed much of it. I agree the presentation was cringeworthy, much as I like David Tennant. Rory Kinnear and Ian McKellan excellent. Did anyone else find Brush Up Your Shakespeare bordering on offensive or have I just got over-sensitive? Othello dance was fab (as was the Othello dancer!).

You know, Catherine Tate has actually performed in Shakespeare on the stage before. She played Beatrice to David Tennant's Benedick in 'Much Ado About Nothing' and I think they got good reviews at the time. So it's quite appropriate for her to be there.
