Exactly, Magpie. How the hell someone can date someone else for two months and not ask what they do all day is beyond me.

Nothing but he has been very foolish. If he'd been like everyone else and had some natural curiosity about his girlfriend's life then there'd be a chance he would have found out her age and it wouldn't have got as far as it had.

Also, why are people so pissy about Tina and Soph? Soph clearly looks older than 16 and who could blame her for wanting to snog her after being with miserable sad-sack Sonia?

Just watching yesterday's- agree very uncomfortable viewing. Agree Star was just foolish child thinking that's what you "do" - that's why laws are there to protect them, because can't judge consequences.

But it's very sad she got off Scot free- surely at very least she had social worker to ask her questions about why she did it and considering Jay took all blame that will affect rest of his life and career - how not to end up in same situation again. Yes she was vulnerable and wanted to be loved but her actions in lying have destroyed someone's life.

Even if Jay had said to her in pub you are old enough to drink aren't you short of asking for ID not sure what he can do. Saying that if police were really interested in this they would be arresting hundreds of people a day.

Yes she was troubled and we know why she did it but she lied because she knew it would be a problem. Of course she is a child and can't grasp outside her own little world of results but seems odd that no one is asking why she acts this wat

Have I missed something? Jay ends up on the SO register for dating a girl whose age he did not know. When he found out he ended the relationship and never actually slept with her. That seems so unfair. he acted correctly once he found out her age.

Surely it's just going happen again and again if her issues arnt addressed.

i meant at least have one conversation with a social worker to understand what happened. Ideally she would be under some care order for long term mentoring or support or counselling. Honestly wasn't implying prison!!!

I hope they show Star/Linzi getting some support from social services. I wonder if it's standard practice for the police not to interview her as Jay confessed? Surely there would be some follow up, at least to check on her welfare.
I've been thinking about it a lot (clearly I'm way too into EE) and I think if Star had been a regular cast member and Jay was the outsider, there would be more sympathy for her from viewers. It's being shown from Jay's perspective and he's well liked character. If people had seen more of Star's history, especially with her family then it might be looked at differently.
I do find it uncomfortable how much blame is being laid on her.

As things stand she feels even less unloved, hates her mum. Going to go looking for support and it's not going be from an emotional brain dead 14y old boy is it?

I read a FB comment on the EE page today from some muppet who said Linzi was a 'tramp'. To me it's her who's the victim in this sorry tale because of the harm that's been done to her from being neglected by her mum.

Wiki suggests he be 21 this year at some point. I thought he was roughly 20 too
