I don't think Tam is going to stay. I think he's worried that Mas will go off the rails again but all will be well in the end.

I did laugh at Spot Jane last night. It was almost like magic - nothing for months then the game gets mentioned here and bam! There she is.

I'm having a problem with the Linzi/Star thing. Bex has mentioned her loads previously, and has also (iirc) has been on holiday with her and her family. Yet at no point has Bex, Sonia or Martin ever mentioned that she lives in a pub. Surely if your daughters best friends mum ran a pub you would have the odd night out there wouldn't you? It would have made more sense for Louise as a new girl at school to have just recognised her. Why does every new character have to have a connection with an old one?

Also Linzi has been hanging around the square, almost got trapped when Phil went on his rampage etc, are we really supposed to believe Bex didn't know her best friend was seeing Jay? And Bex irritates me because she is always just used as a plot device to sneer at people (Jay, Stacey) rather than have any storylines of her own. Jay needs to tell Sharon, Ben etc so he has people on his side when all this blows up.

And why do all 14 year olds look 20 in Walford?? Bex in particular! When she first came back with a new head (playing the guitar and making Carol cry) she looked about 16 and that was years ago!

Bex is 16 this year so it looks like the writers have rewritten history and made her 14, though I know it's possible to be best friends with people of different ages! I think Linzi will try to get her on side and lie that Jay knew she was underage.

I thought Star was meant to be a goth and that's why Bex went all goth?

Rebecca is 16 in October which means she's 15 now. If Linzi/Star is a summer baby, they are the same school year.

I thought the implication was that she did know but Linzi made her not say anything, didn't Jay ask her why she didn't say anything or something? I thought Bex sneezed at Jay saying what a saddo he looked when out with Linzi.

Bex said she knew that Linzi/Star's boyfriend was older but didn't realise he was that much older, so I guess she didn't know it was Jay?

I do think it's weird though how young girls are being portrayed on EE - ok I know the boys aren't any better but still. First Abi lies and tricks Ben, is humiliated in public, goes into hiding, everyone blames her while (cheating) Ben gets off scott-free and everyone is "awwww" at how in love he is now and can be his "true self". Then we have Jay being lied to and tricked by another young girl.

I thought that about the goth thing too. Bex definitely became a goth because of Star. Linzi is anything but, even before she met Jay she wasn't dressed up as a goth. EE changing the past to fit with current storyline again.

I also thought the same about Linzi hanging around the square so much. Never saw her calling for her best mate, but then it would have given it away earlier that she was underage even though it was bloody obvious.

Agree that revenge may feature somewhere. Have a feeling she won't like being blown off by Jay. I think they are going to destroy one of the last nice guys by dragging him into an underage girl/sexting scandal.

Oh and the '14' year olds are being played by 18 year olds, well Louise and Linzi/Star. Not sure about Bex.

Jasmine Armfield (Bex) was born in 1999 so 17 or nearly. Bex is supposed to be turning 16 at the end of October. Be interesting to see of that happens! I did read when she returned with Sonia that it said 'Sonia is returning with her 14 year old daughter" so she is supposed to be older than 14 now.

I think the ages are all right.

Louise was born Nov 2001 meaning she turned 14 last November. BEx turned 15 last October and, presumably, Lindzi/Star turns 15 between now and the end of August. Louise is the year below Bex and Lindzi.

I'm not sure I'm keen on how they're doing the storyline, portraying Linzi as in the wrong. Just looking at recent headlines, I have seen people trying to defend the likes of Adam Johnson by blaming the young lass for seducing him. I know it's a very different situation but I think it's irresponsible of them if they go down that road.
I agree with WildHeart that there's a lot of blaming of women going on at the moment.

The problem I have with the 'OAP' story that starts next week is that I don't believe the female character would stoop so low.

So far I think the Linzi story is being done well apart from Jay never asking her what she did all day whilst they were dating for two months

I agree that the female in the 'OAP' storyline could do so much better - especially considering a particularly notable one-night stand a few years ago!!

I think we moved to the quotation marks soup because we all agree they're not really OAPs! How old are they meant to be out of interest? I've lost track of everyone's ages which is unsurprising seeing Bex looks like she should have a mortgage and Kathy has been cryogenically frozen since the nineties.
