I know they had to make Jean play the "transphobic" role because someone had to play it but it's a bit ridiculous to skim over the fact that he HARASSED Jean at her home during/after Stacey's breakdown.

I can't believe Martin didn't know. Stacey is in a vulnerable situation and Kyle in theory was a fake brother- surely the hospital as keeping tab on her?

Also in waiting for Johnny to get involved with Ben or Paul- because, you know, if there are 3 gay men on a soap they must all be having sex with each other

What happened with Donna and her very urgent appointment (fertility issues) that she needed £££s for.
And the prediction was (from the Eastenders threads ) that she was already pg with Fats baby.

Donna hasn't been around for a while so I'm sure that storyline will be completely forgotten about pop back up soon.

Why the hell do the Carters put up with Aunt Babe? I don't think she has a single redeeming feature.

If it wasn't for Babe they'd have to pay for a Chef for the pub and their Faaaaahmlie Meals, (lasagne and trifle)

One of the saddest EE moments was Stan (Micks 'Dad' ) deliberately dropping Babes' trifle bowl (the turd)

All the kissing in the pool made me feel sick!! Only in soap land can you say just grab your cossie and if you are a bloke! I would need time to do under arms legs and bikini area- it's April they are not in summer level of control!

How come Martin is broke? If Kats been paying rent a year then they just pay food and bills so plenty to cover that. When Stacey went on maternity leave they would have got tax credits if needed child benefit and SMP. Yet no more again- same when Kat Alfie and 4 other adults worked and lived there always broke- how!!!

Martin said he spent all his money on the new van.
Agree about the benefits though, they'd be entitled to some help.

No one on EE goes to the job centre or gets benefits. Remember when Bianca was always broke and arguing with people for a job, I'm not saying that benefits would have changed her life but it would have meant that her young kids weren't without food.

Paul exists just to provide Ben with a convenient BF but has no storyline or friendships otherwise.

I assume Paul was brought in initially to witness and expose Les's secret life and in EE somebody always has to be around to see and overhear private conversations. Billy could only eavesdrop during working hours so they had to bring in somebody else.

There are a lot of dull people just waiting to be called for a storyline. I've often wondered about the pay structure of soaps. Do they get paid by episode as well as contract? The person who plays Stacey must be the most overworked person on set or the highest paid.....maybe that is why they keep giving her long breaks - Spain, on the run, hospital etc.....

I think get paid per spoken word / onscreen time.

Liney - so Tracey must be on zero wages!

I like to think that secretly Tracy is the highest paid actor on the soap and a massive diva with it

I think the regular background people must get some kind of monthly wage regardless.

I think it's because they said they'd pay it for a year but it does seem pretty harsh timing. Maybe she's run out of money?

I thought they had won millions! Why not just buy them a flat!

Suppose these would be no storyline then...

I think Kat & Alfie won a million, in that area of london a 3 bed flat would cost half of that money (if not more!) Didn't they buy a bar in Spain and then forget all about it?

Wouldn't stacey get some sort of housing benefit and probably tax credits?

Hiya not spoken to you lot in weeks dd2 was working and we had weeks to catch up not going to go over it all but marking place. Just want to say ben was a twat for doing that to Abby it was horrible to watch

That's what I said nancy75 even if Martin worked part time he gets that plus tax credits plus child benefit plus Stacey SMP. Plus for least 6m of the last year they both worked full time and if not paying rent , what have they been spending their money on!

Mean while Donna rents a two bed flat and manages on stall wage. Kush rents two bed and manages on stall wage......
