Gavin's shiny hair is one of the few man-made objects visible from outer space. Especially if he's standing next to Sharon's face.

celeste83 · 22/02/2016 13:19

Gavin is such a pointless character. Who do EE producers and writers think we are to take another father of Sharon using Dirty Del's 'princess' catch phase? How the hell he seems free to waltz around the East End of London whilst on the run from the Police is baffling. Its such a stupid storyline.

I was hoping the Martin/Authur storyline would be dealt with last week but they have managed to drag another week out it. The most stupid car crash story ever. What hospital unit would allow the father to sign himself and a baby out of hospital after a car accident.

Its also funny how when storylines dictate that every character has a private car fo their own but you never see them parked on the square.

LineyReborn · 22/02/2016 13:43

I've just caught up on it and wish I hadn't bothered. What a load of old cobblers.

All these pathetic 'nods' to the old days - 'princess', 'I'm divorcing you' - and references to bloody Archie and Bradley, and fucking Kathy fussing round and ghastly little Denny and his Stilted Child Acting Technique. Aaaaagh. Just stop it and write some proper bloody scripts.

celeste83 · 22/02/2016 14:25

Oh yeah Phil's drunken 'i'm divorcing you' scene was utterly forgettable.

In my opinion they need to have a big clear out of not just writers but characters. The storylines for the Beales and Mitchells are just tedious these days and i'm fed up with characters coming back from the dead.

Akire · 22/02/2016 14:44

I'm not expert but pretty sure if the hospital wanted to keep you in for broken ribs and concussion then you not be able climb out taxi and lift a heavy baby and car seat with one hand!

SheHasAWildHeart · 22/02/2016 15:42

If Sharon had any sense instead of selling her share of the Albert and paying Gavin £100k to disappear, she should have used Denny's phone to arrange a meet-up and then called the police to arrest him. I find his while lurking behind doors and "princess" comments disturbing. He's already hit Denny and taken him without permission, Sharon should be looking out for her son better than she currently is.

Akire · 22/02/2016 15:52

Good idea wildheart surely bugger off and lock your doors is a cheaper alternative to £100k. Come on this is Eastenders people hire hit men for less where's Ronnie

What happened with biting Dennie I missed that?

celeste83 · 22/02/2016 17:31

Did i hear correctly the other episode that Sharon and Vincint's tiny little bar is worth £800k? I know its London but still seemed extrotionate. I also love it how everyone has serious business meetings in the cafe Grin

Akire · 22/02/2016 20:16

Been bugging me for weeks that Stacey's bed dosnt have a head board! It can't be some health n safety thing surely? You must be more at risk of wa cling your head against a brick wall twenty times a day.

Why will do is not have her car back by 5am? Why is Martin driving it when he's had no sleep? Surely he not be able to stay with her so her have the car back!

IsEatBedThyme · 22/02/2016 20:31

That was really poor acting from Martin right at the end.

celeste83 · 22/02/2016 20:44

What a sad way for Martin to find out Sad

MagpieCursedTea · 22/02/2016 20:45

I thought tonight's episode was brilliantly done. I really liked the portrayal of the mental health staff. I got quite emotional when Stacey got her place at the MBU. The whole paternity thing and the letter really ruined it for me though. They've done some amazing work with the stillbirth and PPP storylines but it's been cheapened by the paternity issue. I'm hoping the baby turns out to be Martin's anyway.
I'm wondering if Martin will believe the letter or think that she's delusional or trying to push him away?

unimaginativename13 · 22/02/2016 20:47

Anyone have that feeling like they want to slap the nurse on the mother and baby unit

Jenda · 22/02/2016 20:50

Yes! So annoying. It was all a bit smug, welcome to the commune for me but otherwise done well. I think the baby will turn out to be Martins too

celeste83 · 22/02/2016 21:09

I thought it was good the scene where the hospital worker bemoaned lack of funds in healthcare.

In other news i suppose Sonia's actress being pregnant might be getting written into EE already.

Akire · 22/02/2016 22:03

They did show mental health care as really good and compassion let's hope that's true to life. Are you able to breastfeed on big cocktails of drugs? They suddenly mentioned it after nothing for last 3 weeks.

MagpieCursedTea · 22/02/2016 22:14

In my experience, it's really difficult to get anyone to tell you whether you can breastfeed on certain medications. No one would make the decision about mine for ages to the point I came off them to breastfeed (was on one of my meds throughout pregnancy) which is one of the reasons I ended up ill. In the end when I was so ill I needed to go back on them, I was told I could still breastfeed but only under a certain dose and I used to give expressed milk or formula overnight when the amount of medication in my milk was at its highest.

Akire · 22/02/2016 22:18

Thanks magpie that's interesting. I guess because you keep hearing how you shouldn't take more than a paracetamol etc.

I was annoyed that Martim was the one out of control tonight and acting dangerously yet all staff worried about Stacey coming in now! Not actually that Martin was one in danger.

WonderingAspie · 22/02/2016 22:36

I thought that celeste, the Sonia being broody thing definitely hinted at something.

That nurse has been in something else. I'm sure it was Bad Girls (because EE is where everyone from BG ends up), possibly Julie's daughter who also ended up in prison, Rhiannon or Rihanna I think.

MissWimpyDimple · 22/02/2016 23:26

I totally agree about the paternity thing cheapening what would otherwise have been a really well handled sensitive subject.

Felt that Martin "breaking" Stacey out was just ridiculous and undermined what they were trying to do with all the episodes.

Shame. Glad it's out now though. Hopefully we can move on from it.

ChipsandGuac · 23/02/2016 01:57

I don't think it was poor acting! It was poor editing.
I am so cranky that they have played this Kush Martin storyline.

gingercat02 · 23/02/2016 15:13

Just me feels desperately sorry for Martian then? Sad He's coped fairly well in his bumbling way (with help granted) and now he thinks everything is falling into place., Stacey's letter is just a kick in the teeth.
What is the actual point of Sharon and her Phil's faaammmiiillly. Go. Away. All. Of. You grrrrrr

imwithspud · 23/02/2016 15:41

I feel sorry for Martin too, I do hope they do a dna and Arthur does actually turn out to be his.

SheHasAWildHeart · 23/02/2016 17:49

Even if Arthur is his, Martin will still feel betrayed. His best friend slept with Stacey knowing he liked her. Stacey, Kush, Shabnam, Carmel and Masood all know and none of them told him. It would be difficult for him to stay with Stacey.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/02/2016 19:36

Poor Martin

Glad they haven't forgotten gbp 1st birthday

Agree the new nurse /helped is smarmy
