LOL think they've all got horrible feet......but then so has DH! Obvs wouldn't be looking at his feet.....

cathcustard · 03/07/2015 06:36

Checking in for today.
Heather, Novak, Stan & Nick K will have my support from afar.

I know Nick is an odd choice but he reminds me of my DSs & all their cocky teen mates.

Have got to work a long day so will have to use my phone, although my Wimbledon App is a bit temperamental.

Serena won't be happy with all the Heather love on CC, but no doubt she'll copeSmile

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 07:06

Hi, the whole Camilla and the Murray sweat band was funny. If i were her i would have given it to Andrew Castle - he can put it , unwashed, under his pillow and stroke it when he is lonely, gaze longingly at it when AM loses.
I predict a win for Serena. Sorry Heather, but,she is too good just now.
See you all later

magimedi · 03/07/2015 09:26

Just been reading that the BBC may well change the Wimbledon2day programme - so many complaints.

I caught a bit of it last night & it really is dire. I think they are all told what to say - Pat Cash (who I normally like) was going on & on about how amazing Andy was & 'how well Haase played'!! Cobblers!

Raahh · 03/07/2015 09:51

magi good news about the highlights programme, if it happens.

I imagine even Murray is getting fed up with the perpetual brown nosing. It really is spoiling everything he plays in- no credit for his opponent ever.

Dh said 'So, you won't be watching any tennis later then, it's over for the fortnight for you then?'

Grin

Silly man. He should know me better than that. Mine main reason for watching may be out, but it's TENNIS. On the TV!! I ought to LTB. Grin

I want Heather and Stan to win- though it's a shame he is playing Verdasco. Vamos

Djok should have it easy, but it depends on the mood of Tomic really. will they mention his dad?

Dimitrov and Gasquet should be a close match.

MajesticWhine · 03/07/2015 09:56

Yeah magi, I thought that was odd. From the few bits that I saw, Haase played pretty badly and wasn't even in the contest.
On other matters, my DH thinks that Pat Cash has had even more cosmetic surgery than Tracey Austin.

MajesticWhine · 03/07/2015 10:15

I would like to catch Stan v Verdasco and Heather v Serena. Kyrgios and Raonic might be interesting too. Today I have to navigate around a sports day and picnic. Bloody inconsiderate.

LeprechaunsAndUnicorns · 03/07/2015 10:29

The80s that is THE most funny thing I have read on mn and I've been here donkeys! Grin Brilliant and oh so true!!Grin

Gutted abt Rafa. I want to hug him. ...after his shower Wink

Raahh · 03/07/2015 10:39

Ooh, I forgot Raonic and Kyrgios. Definitely Team Milos here.

I deliberately avoided the highlights programme last night, as I decided my blood pressure wouldn't take it. Grin

Leprechauns Grin

Today, the weather has really picked up again, and Raahhpuppy is not happy in the heat at all. So, we had a speedy walk this morning.

My morning did not start well- parents review meeting at ds's school at 8am. His form teacher (who he has had since September) didn't even know his surnameAngry. The meeting went downhill from there...

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 10:39

Lep. I did panic ive gone too far, but AC winds me up!
Yep, poor rafa, but im sure he will be fine. Tennis is a lonely sport, but he has lots of support i think!
Not sure who to support now - i know he beat a mumsnet fav on here, but Browns play reminded me of the 70s type of playing..although i dont think he will progress. But I know nothing of course.

Raahh · 03/07/2015 10:44

Majestic- next Friday-men's semi final day, I have dd1's nursery sports day in the morning, dd2's in the afternoon and then the school summer fair straight after. Really badly planned on the school's part, as I imagine a lot will go home after sports day, and not return. (Fair is 3.15-5pm) I

And I want to watch the tennis!

If the weather is like this, as it was a couple of years ago, the kids were melting during the afternoon- no shade at all in the playground. Couldn't wait to get home and have a water fight!

Raahh · 03/07/2015 10:53

80s- trouble with Brown is he is so inconsistent. I think he 's great to watch, very flamboyant, but his results aren't great. He made a total of £30,000 last year- there are reasons for that. When he played Hewitt at Wimbledon, and everyone was saying how amazing he was then, how great it was to see serve/volley etc- he got no further .Though I would like to see him get further this time if only for his biceps.

And to see the number of times Andrew Castle can say 'campervan' Grin

ElizaCBennett · 03/07/2015 10:58

I was there yesterday. It was sad to see Rafa go out but it was a fantastic game. The buzz went round the whole place and everyone was watching it on the screen. The whole place went mad at the end! Had a great day!

Raahh · 03/07/2015 11:03

Envy Eliza- glad you had a good day. There were some great matches- also some pretty quick ones, so good that the crowd had something to cheer for in the evening.

Just a pity it had to Rafa Sad

He can have a rest, and re-group for the hardcourt season. US Open number 3!

Madmog · 03/07/2015 11:04

I also thoroughly enjoyed the Brown/Nadal game. I assumed Nadal would win, but he looked so hot out there, he keep touching his face and didn't look relaxed. Brown on the other hand looked cool and relaxed.

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 11:06

Raahh, its sad the teacher didnt know your sons surname, not good at all! Yes, a sip of tea, pimms or whatever when camper van, wooden rackets are mentioned the next few days. Brown has an odd shape for tennis, nowadays they tend to bulk up at the gym, he has very long arms too!

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 11:09

Look at the daily fail website, Campervan is a internet headline!

Raahh · 03/07/2015 11:12

I wouldn't mind, he hasn't used the campervan for years!

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 11:21

They were old pictures they dug up for todays news on the tennis. Being of German, Jamaican descent must had made for an interesting background / childhood. The Germans are usually pretty regimented and live to work ( dh has a lot of dealings with the germans through work) the Jamaicans much more laid back mostly, i would imagine.

Raahh · 03/07/2015 12:31

So- Raonic and Kyrgios.
Definitely want Raonic to win.

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 12:35

Raonic looks a bit like a 1950s crooner!

Raahh · 03/07/2015 12:46

He does- looks better with ruffled hair. Grin

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 12:53

Do you want to ruffle? Not my type im afraid. Do they still sell byrlcream ( you know what i mean) in red tubs?

HenriettaTurkey · 03/07/2015 12:56

I think Raonic looks like a caricature. I mentioned this to dh and he has no idea what I mean!

Flash Harry v Steadie Eddie. Yup, think I'm team Raonic too.

The80sweregreat · 03/07/2015 13:00

Hen, yes he does look a bit 'cartoony' - kyrgios looks as if he is off to the headmaster for a telling off all the time. The aussie fans are reving up.
