The State Within - anyone watching it?

Or more importantly, anyone following it? I've seen all the episodes so far and feel almost as clueless as I did in the first 5 minutes of the series. It's like a more sedate, but just as complicated british 24. Kind of enjoying it though.

Just checked the imdb MummyMonster - I knew I'd seen him in Capital City many, many years ago. Showing my age again , but I think he was the one done for insider dealing, naughty boy. Probably wrong, but he definitely wasn't the 'good guy' hero. It was one of my fave progs at the time.

Mummymonster · 05/12/2006 14:42

oh don't get going with Kev Spacey, he's the finest actor of our generation and I'll never stop.... lets stick to Mr Issacs.

Usual Suspects is a much watched film at Monster HQ. We never ever get it. DH has seen something where the director (Brian Singer) or the writer maintains that they don't know either and it's up to you. yeah, cheers (IMHO Keyzer Soze does not exsist, it's all a lie)

Now back to Jason (purleeeze) I was amazed to find he was in Black Hawk Down...mind you, can never tell who is in that as everyone looks the same. BTW is it true he was at uni/college etc with Mark Kermode? (50's quiff, wears DMs well, great film critic)... Oh dear (turns into huge hormonal mess)...

BoingBoing · 05/12/2006 15:48

I didn't recognise anyone in Black Hawk Down, except for Ewan McGregor, and what he was doing in that film is anyone's guess.

Mummymonster · 05/12/2006 15:59

Making coffee I think!

BoingBoing · 05/12/2006 16:28

LOL

willandsamsmum · 06/12/2006 22:28

Eric Bana (drool drool drool) was in Black Hawk Down as well. (gotta go and freezeframe the close up of his arse in Munich now!)

Kevin Spacey - fantastic in everything he's ever done.

Maybe all will be clear by this time tomorrow.

Or we may all be devastated by 10pm

and I have an ebay auction finishing at 9.30!...ah well can live without it!

Please Sir Mark, don't be a bad guy!

AntEater · 07/12/2006 20:51

10 mins chaps...

liatHoHoHo · 08/12/2006 20:34

Am I the only one who was still confused. Just when I thought all the loose ends were being tidied up they leave the ending hanging....

willandsamsmum · 09/12/2006 20:27

It was a kind of 'write your own ending there' wasn't it. I missed the introduction so at the end I wasn't sure if it was the last episode or not!

In my mind, my ending is that I'd have Lyn calling off the war threat and Mark immediately flying to florida to be with thingy. Always a sucker for a happy ending me. Apart from that, i thought that everything else was resolved quite nicely. I loved that bit where the guy from Armitage saw the Washington Post story.

It was fantastic. I loved the bit where Sir Mark used the bugged office to his own ends...just perfect.

It was a fine way to end it all, as always the honest to goodness little people and the journolist blew the conivers apart.

Thanks BBC
