Rafa -yes. Grin Unless you need a Claire Balding fix,( and I LOVE her), it really is a pointless waste of recording space Grin.

JuanPotatoTwo · 29/06/2015 22:11

I got waylaid by a big pile not ironing Shock. But I did watch Heather while doing it. Which is probably why it took for ever.

I too cry at the drop of a hat. I thought things were bad when I cried at an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. But I knew they were bad when the lady at the checkout in John Lewis complimented me on my choice of fan heater - and I cried.

Clay sounds like you've had an eventful day - hope you're ok.

See you all tomorrow

(Very nearly signed off with an X then - caught myself just in time ...)

MajesticWhine · 29/06/2015 22:11

It's a shame. Claire Balding is great. But really, it wasn't a show for tennis fans. Is it all on the Beeb, no one else has any highlights?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 29/06/2015 22:26

It's usually all on the bbc I think.

I see they've just lost the olympic rights.

Am fine, Juan. It's nothing compared to what's happened elsewhere over the last few days. But as MrsV says it's a bit close to home. Since the police are looking for suspects now I'm assuming it may not be a false alarm. What sort of bastard puts a bomb outside a school?

I'll just focus on thinking about tennis now I think. Who's on tomorrow?

Raahh · 30/06/2015 07:38

I am surprised they have lost the Olympic rights- but, it's all about money, and when the games are in your own country and time zone it is far easier to get an audience than otherwise.

I need to do lots of stuff this morning. I want Rafa to win in 3 easy, boring sets. Today is not the day for lengthy classic matches, my nerves won't take it.

cathcustard · 30/06/2015 07:52

Morning all. Just checking in for today.
Sorry I couldn't do live updates yesterday, the connection was rubbish and I didn't have my reading glasses
My observations were

Serena was not impressed with the spectator's obvious support of Margarita, she got really shirty.
The Bolelli/Nishikori was fab; really pacy they slogged their hearts out.
The Dimitrov/Delbonis was a tad dull.

Today, I think, is Nadal & Roger's day. Sorry Muzza.

Mama1980 · 30/06/2015 08:03

Morning all just checking in, I didn't get to watch much yesterday but I thought the dimitrov match was disappointing very dull, they need to make more of a effort when I actually have time to watch Grin
Need a easy Rafa win today. Vamos!

MajesticWhine · 30/06/2015 09:13

I've got a few things on today, including a school trip and a haircut. But hoping to be back home to watch the best matches. Would like to catch the resumption of Heather, also Nadal, and Murray later on. I won't watch Fed, but hope he loses. Laura Robson plays today too. I hope she doesn't get totally blown away like at Eastbourne.

magimedi · 30/06/2015 09:25

Morning! Just taking a break from getting the house straight post decorators & builders. Am trying to get as much done as poss so I can flop this afternoon. Been at it since 7 & it's berluddy hot!

COME ON ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DramaAlpaca · 30/06/2015 09:50

Morning all! Not hot here, just damp & ridiculously muggy.

Hoping for a great day of tennis - that I'll have to catch up with after work. Grrr!

ifonly4 · 30/06/2015 10:59

I have to go to work, but have tea prepared (busy cooking at 8.15am)- all I have to do is add salad - I never know if DH will be late, but that way I can watch Andy Murray this evening.

Mama1980 · 30/06/2015 11:04

Insanely hot here (South East) I would not want to be playing tennis in this.
What temp does it have to be for them to postpone or doesn't it matter does anyone know? When I was working onsite we would be stopped if it hit 28 degrees c just wondered if something similar applied.

HenriettaTurkey · 30/06/2015 12:00

Mark Petchey was talking about this earlier. I think he said something about a ten minute break between sets 2&3 if the temperature breaks 30 degrees. It could happen...

The Wimbledon programme has been on 30 mins and they've just shown the first couple of points. How much waffle?!

Mama1980 · 30/06/2015 12:05

So much waffle! And why oh why do they think we want yet another Murray interview.
Couple of breaks in the dogs match both looking tense.

BagelwithButter · 30/06/2015 12:06

Morning all. Hot, hot, hot!

Highlights show was awful. I hate that Top Gear style with audience standing for an hour - what is the point? Whatever one thought of Inverdale, he did a good show, fitting in loads of matches and opinion. Don't like new format at all. Twitter was going mad last night with complaints apparently.

Kyle Edmund has a very red neck already Smile (MNHQ should do a sunshade emoji)

HenriettaTurkey · 30/06/2015 12:09

Murray getting married. Murray in a helicopter.

Do a special Murray programme and focus on showing the tennis when it's playing. Grr.

HenriettaTurkey · 30/06/2015 12:11

Oh - and now Murray practicing!

Raahh · 30/06/2015 12:19

I have just got in from getting Dd2 from nursery. There are waaay too many Murray interviews. What will they show after he loses?Grin

I do love Dogs. And I am worried about Kyle's neckGrin

What do they do at the Aussie when it is hot? from what I remember last year, everyone just melted.

Raahh · 30/06/2015 12:23

Dogs is one of the players I have as a favourite on the Wimbledon app. So I am getting updates everytime he hits a ball. Was the same when Stan was playing. Grin

HenriettaTurkey · 30/06/2015 12:26

The system Petchey mentioned was brought in at the Aus Open. Although it's more intense heat there as the concrete courts reflect the heat back more than grass. Double whammy!

Enjoying Dog v Kyle. Very entertaining!

Mama1980 · 30/06/2015 12:31

Me too Raahh Smile
The next time they mention Murray I'm muting the TV

Raahh · 30/06/2015 12:32
Smile
Raahh · 30/06/2015 12:44

I wonder if the commentators realise that they don't make Murray any more popular by acting as though he is the only player there. Even people I know who are massive fans as out up by the biased reporting.

It takes 2, to make a singles match.

Apart from in the women's game, where losing 6-0 6-0 will get you the same money as a make player losing in 5 sets. Those one sided matches happen far too often in the women's game.

Raahh · 30/06/2015 12:45

male

stupid phone.

GrouchyKiwi · 30/06/2015 12:51

Hi all! It's beautifully cool in my lounge right now. Lovely place to hide from the heat. 25C in Scotland? No thanks!

I like Lee McKenzie.

I Wonder if the women's matches would become less onesided if they had to play 5 sets.

Hope Edmund is OK.
