I thought this was brilliant. I'd never heard of Lisa Lynch before this. I thought the actors involved played it beautifully.

I lost my mum and my lovely mum in law exactly like this. It brought back lots of memories. The trying on of wigs. The overwhelming fear.

I wish I'd known of her sooner. I'm going to buy her book.

Yes she is. Didn't she do all the singing on that Cilla biopic because she had a better voice than Cilla Black did? Grin

I'm quite shocked that the wig thing is true. My mum had brilliant help. If it had been like that she'd have been mortified.

It's bad enough putting up with an illness like that without advertising to the world that you're poorly. My mum was quite private and wouldn't go out without her wig on because she didn't want people's sympathy. If it had looked really obviously wig-like she probably wouldn't have gone out much at all and it would have really impeded on her trying to live as normal a life as possible. She used to say that she couldn't get away from the cancer because it was there every time she looked in the mirror. Losing your hair is just that extra thing to have to deal with. It's probably bad enough on its own without having cancer.

When I was having chemo I had my then 7 year old granddaughter staying for a week. I knew my hair was going, horrible tingling all over my scalp, clumps on the pillow etc so I didn't wash it for a week while dgd was there. As soon as she left I jumped in the shower and the whole lot of my hair came away in my hands!
I have just watched the C Word on iPlayer. I thought I couldn't, felt I shouldn't then I just did.
I was 62 at dx and had my children,my grandchildren my whole life. It seems so unfair that poor girl was taken far far too soon.

Oh gosh yes. You poor thing. She was awfully young wasn't she? Mammograms aren't recommended till you're about forty aren't they? Although I assume you could have one if you asked.

Didn't Sheridan Smith do an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? I can't remember much about it but at the end she was singing with her folks on stage. Looked lovely. Smile

I have just watched this on iplayer and am still in tears. Absolutely fantastic performances from every single one of the cast.

Such a sad story but one that is being felt all across the country. Flowers for anyone going through similar
