...not that i want to pinch RTKanga's crown, but I thought that you all might want to know that the most amazing documentary on childbirth will be repeated (first shown in 1982) on BBC4 at 9pm on the 12th October.

It's all about Dr Michel Odent, the French natural birth chappie and will make wonderfully comforting and informative viewing (I think) for anyone about to give birth or who has ever given birth. Also to any NCT teachers out there... set your videos. There is an AMAZING scene of a breech baby coming out one foot at a time and some darling twins.

i know i should tell you nearer the time, but i'll forget, sorry.

And for the style shop ladies, believe me, those 80s pregnancy smocks are worth a look.

Fab! Will set the sky+ for next week. Love Michel Odent. I went on his training course.

Pruni - when you have pethidine and/or an epidural your body stops making endorphins (which you make in labour and need to labour)- endorphins are the natural pain relief hormones and the feel good hormones. So to me it could make sense.
I am not saying this is correct I am just explaining the role of hormones.

Have you ever read Does medication administered to a woman in labour affect the unborn child?
