I've got about three episodes left. I've enjoyed it so much. I love Peter Krause and I'm up to date with Parenthood. Should I try Dexter?

Friday Night Lights is one of my favourites. Ever. Just brilliant. I don't think it's on any of the streaming sites though.

Yes to Top of the Lake and The Returned the French drama. Really spooky but gripping.
Game of Thrones is essential and I have bought the Girls box set but no chance of watching for ages.

Both Band ofBrothers were also excellent. Walking Dead is good too if you can handle the gore.

I still miss Six Feet Under Hmm what happened to Claire. I loved her and she was the image I had of Clare in the time travellers wife. (Should have been her Grin)

Onedropoflove · 07/10/2014 22:55

If you loved Brothers and Sisters you will love Parenthood. I'm watching the second to last Six Foot now. Will save the last one for tomorrow night when I don't have to get up for work. I have to say it's made me think a lot about death and dying and in a good way really.

I can't say I've seen her in anything else. I have a feeling she's a musician.

I'm watching the last episode now.

Oooh Onedrop let us know how you get on. I was bereft when it ended!

Onedropoflove · 09/10/2014 06:34

I thought it was the most perfect ending to the show. A proper ending wasn't it? I don't want to talk about it too much incase anyone's going to watch it.

Am I the only one who was disappointed in the final episode? Still it was a great series but I hated how they ended up with Nate not treating Brenda very well. The whole series had them as soul mates for me and the change didn't fit. (The medical condition notwithstanding). I might re-watch it actually.

TanteRose · 09/10/2014 08:55

god, no, they weren't soul mates, they were poison for each other!!

or maybe like an addiction?

TanteRose · 09/10/2014 08:55

loved SFU

nothing has ever come close...

Onedropoflove · 09/10/2014 09:27

Omg they should never have been together!!! I never took to Brenda and went off Nate by the end. I enjoyed how it made me feel about different characters the mother and David were my favourites.

BringMeTea · 09/10/2014 13:07

Yeah maybe I romanticized them. I just saw it as Brenda as a commitmentphobe due to her fucked up childhood then when she finally felt able to do it he uncharacteristically rejected her. I may have been overinvolved. Smile

Loved all the family. Each one quietly drawn and evolved. Brilliant telly.

WillowWoods · 09/10/2014 13:32

Ruth, from SFU,is in American Horror Story.

The Big C is good.

Onedropoflove · 09/10/2014 14:22

I enjoyed the big c but was glad when it ended.

Does anyone know why George's daughter was in the doctors waiting room at the end?

Apparently she was just there for work and it was to show her getting on with life, a lot of people had thought she was meant to be pregnant.

I saw Nate and Brenda as too similar really they could never work, they were both too selfish really and pushed the other party away in a relationship (Nate did it with Lisa and Brenda with Joe). However, I thought Brenda had grown by the end if the series although she wasn't perfect and had learnt from her parents mistakes with her own children.

I think my favorite relationship was David and Keith, they had their ups and downs but really grew together. And that end scene when David sees him Sad.

I cried buckets.

Onedropoflove · 09/10/2014 16:19

Oh I thought it was a mean way for Keith to end. He didn't even look that old. I never really took to Lisa either. Listen to me I sound like I don't like any of them!!

In a way I think that's what made it great they weren't lovely characters all of the time, it made them feel very real.

theladywiththelamp · 09/10/2014 16:48

Yes Yes Yes to
Big Love (stick with it, even when it gets a bit slow in the middle)
Game of Thrones
Orange is the New Black
Nurse Jackie - love her!
Sadly, I got a bit obsessed with Greys Anatomy for a while there too...Blush

theladywiththelamp · 09/10/2014 16:49

The song in the final episode still totally does.me.in. whenever I hear it.

Onedropoflove · 09/10/2014 17:11

What was the song?

I've seen Oranges and couldn't stick with the second season. I wish Bates a Motel would hurry and come back

Goodness just reading this thread has me welling up 6 feet is my favorite tv series of all time, the perfect ending.
I've only watched the first ep of Dexter recently I really liked it but dear me it gory!

I'm loving Bates Motel at the moment about Norman Bates (Pyscho) and his mother first moving to the motel. I jump between liking them to not and can't decided who's to blame for the weird relationship dynamic.

True detective is shaping up good, I'm not finished but I know it got rave reviews.
I really enjoyed the law series Damgages very cut throat with women's power at the forefront.

Orange is the new Black, I'm saving the 2nd series for when I'm really bored.

If you like sci-Fi then Continuum is interesting about a future world were Capitalism and technology governs the world and terrorist/freedom fighters go back in time to change the course of history.

TanteRose · 10/10/2014 06:22

the song is Breathe Me, by Sia

R4roger · 10/10/2014 06:46

i loved six foot under but was recommending it to my DS as he loved Dexter, but it is not on netflix.
where are you watching it?

Lagoonablue · 10/10/2014 06:49

Glad to see some other fans of Brothers and Sisters. I loooooved that so much.

Back in the 90s I used to watch 30 Something which I also loved. It was repeated a couple of years ago and was so dated!

Onedropoflove · 10/10/2014 10:31

Then you need to watch Parenthood.

SFU us on sky box sets. I'm debating whether to get it for my mother for Xmas.

Dia is another one of those musicians that the Americans love but never really took of here isn't show? That's always fascinates me. Like Gwen Stefanis husband.
