I saw this on bbc3 last night and thought it was a repeat but it seemed to be new as the format was slightly different and the prize (!) at the end was different. Anyone know if it is a new series? Not seen it advertised. I know i'm very very sad

yes it's new

cos this time she has special aprons

and she says a sentence at the end suggesting that the dhs should do something which must be a focus group addition

princessmel · 21/08/2006 11:31

Not sure. It was funny though wasn't it? 2manypimms is on it soon. Early sept I think. I don't know if she won though.

JackieNo · 21/08/2006 11:33

Yes - it's a new series .

wartywarthog · 21/08/2006 13:02

what's it about?

2ManyPimms · 21/08/2006 17:48

I was disappointed about the "bag of goodies" not being on offer this time around but the aprons are FAB!

(7th September - watch for it!)

futurity · 21/08/2006 18:11

Tell us about the manual 2ManyPimms ...is it v useful?

2ManyPimms · 21/08/2006 19:06

Yes and no. There were some bleeding obvious things in there like "you can use your vacuum cleaner to keep your carpet nice and clean". Well, duh! I found a section on managing your time to be incredibly useful as well as the bit on feather dusters. I had no idea that they were job-specific.

knat · 21/08/2006 19:52

thanks - look forward to seeing 2ManyPimms. When did it start. Looking at the informatin on the webpage none of the names matched with the ones on last night. Just wondered if I've missed many.

2manypimms - job specific feather dusters. What do you mean! Im intrigued

2ManyPimms · 21/08/2006 21:53

Ah, actually I mucked up....I should have said "dusters".

Cloth - most uses
Ostrich Feather - delicate surfaces
Conical duster - for vases or awkward areas
Spindle brush - for banisters
flat paddled - to clean behind radiators
Californian style - computer screens, wooden floors
Extendable - for those hard-to-reach high ceilings or light fixtures
Gloves - for venetian blinds

Ta da!

2ManyPimms · 21/08/2006 21:54

knat - I think those listed on the website were last year's housewives. Fortunately, they haven't "blurbed" us this year!

Piffle · 21/08/2006 21:56

oh my linen cupboard looks AMAZINGLY neat and magical

wartywarthog · 22/08/2006 00:09

s'ok - i found a description on radio times - for those that would also like to know

She gets two useless housewives to stay with her in a country mansion and are taught what to do.

housemum · 22/08/2006 00:53

2ManyPimms - so which housewife are/were you?

divamummy · 22/08/2006 00:58

never knew she was local, untill saw papaers

2ManyPimms · 22/08/2006 07:55

The chubby American one!

zaphod · 22/08/2006 08:03

I can't wait until your episode, 2ManyPimms, my family and I watch Anthea compulsively, and they'll be thrilled to see a Mumsnetter on screen.

2ManyPimms · 22/08/2006 08:06

zaphod - I liked Anthea's tip for cleaning up bits of broken glass on her last episode! Finally a reasonable use for gummy white sliced bread!

SecondhandRose · 22/08/2006 08:08

I thought someone said it was on on Thursday, missed it, any repeats?

zaphod · 22/08/2006 08:09

DD broke a glass the other day, and as I was getting the big bits up she went to the cupboard to get the bread. Ah, the power of Anthea.

2ManyPimms · 22/08/2006 08:13

Now to get your DD to fold the towels into the shape of frogs wearing sunglasses!

housemum · 22/08/2006 09:21

I was v diappointed on thursday - Anthea had a big pile of ironing which included a fitted sheet - I wanted her to show me how to fold the blasted thing rather than a t-shirt (DH just said it goes to prove that no-one can fold them neatly!!)

sorkycake · 22/08/2006 09:35

To fold a fitted sheet

housemum · 22/08/2006 09:54

I was thinking about Martha Stewart the other day - she must be so frustrated that everyone now is doing what she was years ago - if she hadn't had the court case & all that she'd be on everything herself. Still, I'm sure she's not short of a penny or two anyway.
