In MsNobodyAgain's temporary absence, I am starting this thread. Normal service will be resumed soon, hopefully.

Welcome to the Sad Doctors Thread Participators (SDTP) self-help group.

We have not abandoned all hope of Hestembe, but are concentrating on getting the Gobbyplods back together. Maybe they just need some Merlot?

Please join us, we may have dubious taste in Tv, but we're a friendly bunch.

DD is back to school tomorrow. She has to wear a summer dress, no option for anything else. They are hideous and only available online from one supplier, hence also very expensive. I have managed to get her a secondhand one which is a bit big for her, even after I've altered it, but it will have to do. She's only in it for about 10 weeks anyway.

I miss Doctors. And my steam cleaner STILL hasn't arrived for the product test, so I don't even have that to take my mind off it.

Dragon I like the dragon, though.

Ah yes, summer dresses. We are lucky enough to have a big stash of hand me downs under my bed that will hopefully see DD right through to Year 6 (3 of my neighbours have got between them 6 older DDs that have been to my DC's school). Must dig them out and see what fits. They are allowed to wear winter uniform all year though if they want to.

Raahh · 22/04/2014 20:11

DD2 (who is 3.5) came home in the summer dress I put in her bag as 'spare clothes' (got covered in mud in the morning) at the last minute. It is age 5-6 Blush but surprisingly, didn't look that much too long!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/04/2014 20:18

I wish DD could wear winter uniform all year round. I did suggest it to the school but didn't hear anything back.

DD is tall too, Raahh, she is just 5 but age 6-7 trousers are the right length (so if she grows they will be ankle-swingers) and dressing up outfits have to be 7-8. Fortunately the trousers have the elastic tighteners inside the waist.

It is so much easier with boys. Short or long trousers being the only option. None of this pinafore/skirt/trousers/culottes/summer dress or socks vs tights, green vs grey vs white tights, jumper vs cardigan. I wish the girls wore the same as the boys.

Raahh · 22/04/2014 20:36

I'm not used to tallGrin - ds is 11.5 and only just in age 10 trousers, bless him. I think his sisters will tower a bove him Grin

Oody · 22/04/2014 20:38

Dd3 is a shorty like me her 3-4 trousers have to be taken up

cinnamongreyhound · 22/04/2014 20:48

My boys are tall but both have short legs and long bodies like their dad! Although ds1 has just had to move out of his 6-7 trousers and he's 7 on Sunday, but last summer he finally outgrew his last 2 pairs of 2-3 shorts which I can now put on ds2 (3), although they are a bit big!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/04/2014 21:16

In the winter I buy DD woollen dresses as the next year she wears them as jumpers!

WhoKnowsWhereTheChocolateGoes · 22/04/2014 21:21

DS is 10 and in age 7 trousers. DD is 8 and in age 7 trousers too.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/04/2014 21:26

DD's age 5-6 leggings will be used in the summer as 3/4 length ones for playing in! They don't reach her socks!

Happy St George's day everyone Dragon
Roll on next Monday.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/04/2014 21:09

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/04/2014 21:28

Happy St George's Day! Dragon

Does the dragon represent doctors' receptionists?

I have been keeping myself busy with testing the steam cleaner. It is fabulous! I will finally have a clean house!

The stream cleaner sounds great. I need to sort my house out. We have a new sofa coming (which is good, as this one is held together with duct tape)- but it does mean a big clear out. And maybe even decorating ShockShock

Giraffeski · 24/04/2014 20:00

I thought that Anne, but so far it's only my kitchen floor that's clean and it hasn't made it upstairs...

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/04/2014 21:10

I love decorating, Raahh. Nothing like painting!

I haven't done the floor yet, Giraffeski, but have done the hideous shower cubicle (it is now unrecognisable) and the oven doors, which I can now see through (which is a problem as I haven't done inside the oven or grill, so you can now see how dirty they are).

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 24/04/2014 21:43

I love painting but dh doesn't think we need to and doesn't want to spend the money on it either :(

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/04/2014 21:57

I spend Nectar points in Homebase to get the paint, then paint, then several days or weeks later, point out the change in colour scheme to DH.

OP posts:
WhoKnowsWhereTheChocolateGoes · 24/04/2014 22:56

I hate decorating, we haven't done any for 10 years. I do fancy a steam cleaner though. Is it a hand held one or a floor type?

Have you seen the Nectar double points thing which is on at the moment?
