He sounds like Mr Bloom and looks like Wolverine.

Brightening up my Sunday night.

Ah didn't know he was engaged, so yes he must have changed his mind! Lets hope so, I just thought it was an unusual thing for him to have said. At the time though he was completely concentrating on the TT and trying to win it, so that may be why.

It is a very good film though if you like him, and shows his determination and dedication to winning.

I'd be happy to just have him a torque wrench and gaze at his sideburns Grin

I thought the disappointing comment was going to be something like "all women are stupid and should cook my dinner" so I'm mighty relieved

caz1010 · 17/01/2014 09:30

Totally in love with him, have been for years, as I spend 75% of my life (or it seems) supporting dh on motorbike circuits I have had the pleasure of meeting him a number of times, I did hope this would kill the crush but hell no Grin
His younger brother also races, now he is seriously hot, so much so I think I would even drink his bath water

trice · 17/01/2014 10:31

I think you would get very little attention if you were the woman in his life as he only has eyes for his bikes.

Nice twinkly eyes though, and he loves his dear old mam.

Also quite likely to almost die a lot, which would be a bit stressful.

Norem · 17/01/2014 11:28

Oh I loooove him too, he did a great series about a canal boat trip featuring the industrial revolution :) I was gripped just because of his lovely lovely manner.
Off to find brother too !

Another fan signing in here!
Started getting into watching TT and similar races about 2 years ago and he first hit my radar, given that I love geeky history stuff as well when he did the boat programme I was in my element. Love the new stuff as well...
Funnily enough he reminds me a lot of my DP - obsessed with motorbikes and speed, but can be distracted with a bit of Victorian engineering!

LostInWales · 19/01/2014 20:03

Wow you can really embarrass 3 boys by running into the room shouting 'give me the remote my boyfriend is on channel 4' Grin Grin Grin

They love him too (potential step father material Wink) plus they all have hair the same colour as his, perfect Sunday night family under a duvet viewing. (I SO want to be his sledge though Blush)

moppymarker · 19/01/2014 20:36

now, the thing is, im married to a biker, top notch dedicated biker, and if you manage to get his attention..... then its worth it imo

i like a man with a bit of passion.....

dyk guy cycles 40 miles into work and 40 miles home everyday????? oooh those thighs!

{goes for a lie down}

caz1010 · 20/01/2014 07:13

does your dh race ? . . . wondering if we know each other Wink

moppymarker · 20/01/2014 07:51

we have been round Oulton Park, but not racing Grin

caz1010 · 20/01/2014 15:17

oulton is fab, beautiful place.
sorry to hijack thread but a few of us on here follow bike racing, motogp, bsb etc so look out for the threads when the season starts Smile

StuckOnARollercoaster · 20/01/2014 16:37

ooh caz I'll look out for those threads - getting quite into it and this year I bought DP (and me!) tickets for british moto gp - the saturday qualifying so we can watch the actual race at home on sunday ;-)
I want to go the TT next year...

caz1010 · 20/01/2014 16:51

Club racing is a fantastic day out for families. About £8 for adults, children free, for all day racing, none stop, just an hour for lunch. Season starts March right through to October. All circuits hold race meetings for different clubs, google clubs like Thundersport, Derby Pheonix, Hottrax to find when they are racing near you.
I spent yesterday stood on a beach watching beach racing. A free day out in the lovely winter sunshine.
Grin

Stuckon a rollercoaster
If you want to go to the TT 2014 you had best be quick - it is quite likely the sailings are pretty full already - most people book on a year to basis and accomodation is hard to find if you are not a 'regular'
You may want to stay out of Douglas and travel about. IMO the best place, especially in the evenings is Peel, 'The Creek' at the side of the harbour has good bands, decent food (decent for the IOM that is !) and is not populated by the type of guys who we know as 'superbike posers'.
If you are camping can recommend the site behind the Raven at Ballaugh - it is on the inside of the circuit so you can get about a bit during the practicing and racing to watch from more than 1 place.

StuckOnARollercoaster · 21/01/2014 07:34

Thanks for the tips cats!
We aren't going for this year - like you say we knew the sailings need to be bought early and DD is too small to either take with us or leave behind (not sure which!)
Will keep your tips for 2015 though ;-) - we are thinking of the classic meet rather than the regular TT...

Ladyfarquhar · 21/01/2014 08:50

My dad raced in the TT there are many photos of me in my nappy and wellies in the pit lane. It's never to young.

allmycats · 21/01/2014 09:02

Stuck - you will really like the new'Classic TT' at the time of the Manx,, although it is NOTHING like the real thing !! - We went last year because my DH was part of the lap that a lot of the ex riders did and whilst it was really good to see so many 'old friends' and watch the top TT guys on the classic bikes the actual out and racing does not have the same 'buzz'.
My DH and others in his family have raced at the TT, and, unlike Ladyfarquhar, I would NOT recommend taking a small child, there is NOTHING for them to do and their are NO facilities for small children, and I speak as someone who took my DS all around the world racing in

the 80's and early 90's. It is 1 thing a rider taking his child/ren into a situation where there are others riders and their families to associate with. It is totally different, as a spectator, dragging a small child and/or pushing a pushchair, with no motorhome etc to decamp to.

chrissy74 · 24/04/2014 12:39

I love him
