SCD 2013 #6: The semi-finals are here!

Following on from the last thread.

I'm looking forward to seeing two dances from everybody.The music choices don't look bad either relatively speaking.

Bizarrely there's only one couple (Patrick and Anya) who have two of the usual ten dances, the others all have AT/AS/salsa. Natalie and Artem don't have a ten dance at all.

So next week I want
4- Natalie
3- Susannah
2- Sophie
1- Abbie.

Sophie is lovely but rigid. Abby is Peter Crouch's gf.

Showdances can be very weird though, came second a couple of years ago.

The showdance exhibition was really a series of lifts. But OMG, it gave me goosebumps. The sharpness, speed and slickness was amazing. Loved the music too.

Sad that Patrick didnt make the final. I really hoped he would. I was hoping to say goodbye to Susanna. Ah well,

Abbey for the win. She is amazing for somebody without prior dance training.

My preferred order for next week is

1. Susanna
2. Natalie
3. Abbey
4. Sophie

Though I'll readily admit that if it were based solely on dancing ability Sophie would be in 3rd place!

Do we know how the voting will work next week? Will the online ones be reset halfway through or something?

Missed the show but am sad to hear that Patrick left...

Am quite glad though that I missed the 'showdance' bit... I don't like dances with too many lifts or lifts for lifts sakes (look what I can do!) hence why I didn't like Abby's AS overly much last night! I like the showdance to be about the Sleb and what they've learnt and whilst that will inevitably involve lots more lifts than normal, it's a dancing show after all...

Also, as was proven with 'Snowdance' - the slebs are pretty lame at trying to emulate the throw her everywhere routine anyway! (at the same time, I never want to see another dummy dance either oh, the bitterness, the pain.. poor Colin!)

I didn't like the dress either apart from the sleeves even though they were ridiculous

Another heavy footed performance from Susannah, Patrick seemed a very nice man , loved Sophie and Brendan's paso , their choreograpy was v good, hope public give more credit to Natalie and Artem next week, she might have training but a professional would have found those spins difficult she is the best dancer imo

Praying that next week will be Brucie's last Strictly. Champagne all round if he makes the announcement.

For the first time in years of watching SCD, I am really not fussed about who wins. Abbey has made the greatest improvement imo and has a certain charm when she dances.
Natalie is the most accomplished dancer, but she performs instead of expressing inner feeling for the character of the dance .

I know it isn't just a dance contest and that personality is going to play a part but it is sad to see someone like Patrick go and someone like Nat in a dance-off. Ok so Nat has had some training but training does not equal talent. Anyone can have training to get to a certain point but only someone with a real love of dancing could do what Natalie does and I really don't get all these comments about her being 'smug' or lacking expression.

I also loved watching Patrick - from the first show me and ds just really liked him - he was so natural and funny and the fact that his dancing developed so much I thought was fantastic. I will definitely miss him in the final.

Although I think Nat is great she clearly isn't going to get enough votes to win so I would love it if Abbey came through - like Patrick she's just seems completely herself, not trying to present an image, and she is fantastic to watch.

I'm not sure Nat is actually meaning to look smug to be fair. I think she just has one of 'those' faces. I'm warming to her I must admit.

Reid, on the other hand, is hacking me off with her gurning and mouthing 'thank you' at the cameras at every opportunity.

And two-handed kisses to the judges on the way past.

And mentioning that she'd like to 'come round to everyone's house who voted to thank them'......

I thought Patrick was quite wooden yesterday. Compared to the way the male pros move and the way the male slebs who have made it to the final moved he just looks stiff and rigid. I think Sophie's loosened up alot but I agree she's not as good as Abbey and Natalie. I don't get Susannah's popularity.

If she'd bring Kevin around with her I'd definitely vote for her

Good God how have Susannah & Kevin made the final? I've thought Patrick was consistently over-marked but I preferred him. Kevin is a poor choreographer & I don't think much of his dancing either. It should have been Patrick and Susannah in the bottom two with Patrick scraping it by a whisker.

Brendan really came through for Sophie - excellent choregraphy.

It was the self satisfied smile when it was between her and Susanna for the dance off. It looked very much "well, it isn't me."

Actually, I would say that tonight, Natalie looked sure it would be her in the dance-off. I mean, Susanne's been at or near the bottom of the judge's scoring for weeks and hasn't been in a dance-off yet, Natalie must have known. She was nodding before her name was called and didn't seem smug to me.

Her AT in the dance off was fantastic. The only criticism, which is just a taste thing, was that she was smiling and didn't seem connected with Artem emotionally or mentally. The thing I always like about Artem is that he always looks totally "into" his partner when dancing with them, either angry or lustful or loving, whatever the dance calls for. Natalie danced it beautifully, but it was emotionally lacking to me.
