I've got Rusky ancestors (why I'm attracted to Pasha) he is deffo the best one.

Have oyu all seen this from Monkseal's results show blog about the Russian dancers? Gobsmacking really

I wondered why so many of the pros are east europeans they work them effing hard out there (i'd prefer to have a life as a teenager). Which is why I'm not a pro dancer!!

Wow Ishall - amazing work ethic. Very similar situations to their gymnasts I'd imagine.

No one can convince me that is Pascha in those photos. It looks nothing like him.

I agree Andi. There is no resemblance and he looks no older now than in the 'old' photos and he appears to have shrunk!

Agree about Pascha maybe he's another guy with the same christian name (i don't know 'our' Pascha's surname) Anyone?

'Our' Pasha is Pasha Kovalev (I think!)

So a mistake then (or 'our' pasha's had a load of expensive cosmetic work done!).

I don't mind the record breaking on TT2 now because Ian Waite is 100% a better presenter than mournful , longfaced CRH!!

I agree the pics in that article did not look like Pasha! Wonder if it is a mistake. Sad to think of them taken away from their parents at 12 though :(

Anyone see Jason Gilkison on itt last night? Grr, he's the 'mastermind' behind all the pro routines.. he said they kept wanting to do different things that haven't been done on the 11 years of the show.. I was shouting at the tv.. so because a pro quickstep (for example) has been done before, theyll not do it again?
We've not had one proper pro ballroom dance this series, makes me cross. I hope the tour isn't going to be full of the shitty gimmicks too

I completely agree with you CloudOf Also not everyone has seen the lALL the shows FGS ,I've only recently started watching . He was rather cute but a typical beeb yoof loving producer who thinks that we all die at 50 and what we like isn't cool if we're still alive .

Considering Jason Gilkison must be around 45 at least, I don't think that can quite be his mentality of life ending at 50. I imagine the dancers want to keep it fresh for themselves too. Not many of them would stay for several seasons if they had to do the same pro dances time after time.

Having said that, I agree they don't need to reinvent the wheel every season.

Well he's very well preserved Andi . They don't have to keep repeating stuff just calm down with lighting,staging etc. so we can actually see the dancing ( it has improved a bit in this one ) and also use the traditional music more often (not all the time),The pros and celebs prefer the trad. tunes too!!

But by changing the music, choreography and staging every year it isn't really like repeating a dance. And I bet the majority of them have demonstration dances that haven't changed for a couple of years.

I used to love the big group American smooths.

Exactly Polka perhaps we ought to contact Points of View so the silly twit can see we don't ALL love the ridiculous VDs etc.

Jason Gilkison is 47 (he said he started dancing with his wife when he was 4 and they've been dancing together for 43 years).

I am been very underwhelmed by this year's pro dances, the only one that even vaguely sticks in my mind is Anton and Iveta dancing to Andre Rieu. When I compare the offerings this series to the likes of the Rebel Yell jive, the group VW with the female pros in the different pastel dresses, Katya & Pasha's jive/quickstep to Caro Emerald and my personal favourite, the black/white tango/quickstep to Rolling in the Deep - well, this year's dances just don't come up to scratch IMO.

Exactly select! Totally agree. That rebel yell jive is just Strictly GOLD. The only ones I've properly enjoyed this year have been the two with Anton & Iveta performing to the musical guest.. all the group pro routines have been major overkill.

Btw I'm calling Ashley to go this wk, he'll be bottom of the leaderboard with a salsa.

That Rebel Yell jive is brilliant. Matthew Cutler is amazing.
