This pro dance is fun

Just watched Abbey again. How is that a 40? Craig says he only gives a 10 for perfection but there were at least 2 mistakes, 1 bit when she was standing still and most of it was a disco dance.

What do you think is the motivation for overmarking?

Yes Dave she would choose the dress herself that's why I noticed BF commenting on how lovely she looked in that white number she wore last week (which she did IMO).

She has strange tastes!! She could be 'sensitive' about the correct underwear IFYSWIM The dress she wore yesterday would look lovely on some women but looked a bit odd on her!

WRF to the judging Noseynoo I didn't see the dance did Craig actually give a 10 ??? that's the first isn't it? IMO they don't seem to sit close enough and they sometimes don't see what the viewers see and vice versa (I would hope that they have special screens to help them but possibly not). Maybe one of the posters has been to see the show and noticed

I shouted at the TV < remind me of my late Grandad at the camera angles especially in the opening pro dance of a group of dancers.
One was a shot of a face of only one of the dancers. Then they had half of them out of camera then zoomed back to get them all in.
But I have always been annoyed at the camera work on Strictly, missing feet, half the body, all of the couple. Dancing needs to show the whole body and when they separate the cameras must zoom out to get both of them in. Don't they do any practice runs during the dress rehearsal?
Is there anybody controlling the camera views?

I agree with the few others about Abbey's not so perfect performance imo and was surprised at the comments and 10s. Also at Natalie's low marks although I didn't like the dance as an american smooth - too much drama and not enough smooth.

Ben was on ITV at lunchtime today on some chat/cookery programme with Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha and Peter Andre. He was talking about his deafness, his Dad's death and how he dropped out of the 2007 Rugby World Cup Team to see his twins being born! He came across so well. He didn't realise for a long time what a gay icon he was. He said something very touching about always finding something nice to say to everyone you meet. I got the impression PA was a little jealous of Ben's pecs!!!

Was James dancing last night? There seemed the right number in the pro dance but couldn't see him

Ben is an inspiration to young deaf people like my ds2 too! Last night I texted ds2 and said no Skype as SCD was on. "But Mumma, Ben not in it now!!??" "Yes but I still want to watch!" "Oh ok Mumma!!"

I wouldn't say Tess is an hourglass shape - unless last night's dress didn't emphasise her waist, it looked to me as if she doesn't go in at the waist at all. She did need a better bra, definitely!

The colour didn't suit her either.

I couldn't help wondering how her bra stayed up as seemed a little low. Was she wearing those transparent straps? Her dress looked like a mushroom colour to me and I loved the skirt.

Ben seems such a lovely guy - what a great role model.
The only time I heard him mention his hearing loss in relation to the show was during his last interview on ITT - when asked about his last dance he said it was the one time he felt he was able to dance to the music, because he could hear it: every other time he coped by marking Kristina.
I thought it was telling that he didn't draw attention to this until after he'd actually left the competition.

Still no Natalie in pro dance ?

He said in the programme that he relied a lot on Kristina because he couldn't hear the music and that he was gutted to go last week as it was the first week that he felt that he was in time to the music. He has severe tinnitus and relies on lip reading. I tweeted him right at the beginning of SCD and told him about ds2 and he replied!

No James & Aliona last night/tonight either.

God I used to love Fame. The serious cello player and the keyboard lad who looked like a Muppet.

Don't thimk James was dancing last night, if you read the strictly social website James posted that he had a takeaway and was about to watch strictly which made it sound as though he was at home. Maybe his back is still hurting him so he couldn't be bothered to go to the studio if he anyway couldn't dance...

That's what I wondered but I couldn't see the dancers well enough.

Jane - I'm sure I saw aliona in the Tess put last night. James and robin are injured so they aren't dancing

It must be Marks week to go. Unless whoever they're against really messes up, I can't see who he can beat.
