Thread four here we go! Link to the last thread here.

So, Natalie's through to next week and we'll see who's going to be joining her in the Tower Ballroom Smile So much nicer than Wembley.

OP posts:
OodaresingingoftheDoctorDonna · 19/11/2013 12:18

I thought last week he was starting look like he's lost a bit.

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2013 12:22

Yes I remember that too TheHeadless .

I agree that Fiona was better than Mark animationbut IMO she'd had enough (she didn't seem upset and was saying how good she thought Mark was ffs!)

Animation · 19/11/2013 12:28

Yes ppeatfruit I did hear her saying she's 'had a ball' before she was even out .. and she seemed very smiley at the end .. and on Take Two.

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2013 12:37

Exactly Anim Grin I don't blame her it must be very stressful when you're of a 'certain age' too Grin

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2013 12:40

BTW I soo agreed with CRH about the marking in ST2 yesterday it was mad!

AndiMac · 19/11/2013 14:22

Animation, the judges like Susanna because she always acts the part for the dance. As they say, half the dance is the technique, half is the performance. So when she gives good face (to coin a phrase), you see her as a twirly waltzing princess, nevermind what her feet are doing. Same for the Paso this week.

I really enjoy her performances and I think she's working hard at it, but I agree, she never quite seems as natural as Abbey does dancing. But Abbey doesn't give nearly as much of a performance in my eyes.

AndiMac · 19/11/2013 14:26

Oh, and Monkseal's full review of Saturday night is up. I'm not even up to the first contestant and am in a fit of giggles.

ppeatfruit · 19/11/2013 15:07

Hear hear AndiMac Grin I was so surprised by the 10s given to Abby I could see she was waving her upper half about in the quick step; then what were the judges seeing?

Horsemad · 19/11/2013 16:55

Grin Monkseal is brilliant!!

digerd · 19/11/2013 17:59

Craig said he was shocked at the other judge's 10s for Abbey and said her dance did not deserve 10s and listed some of her many failings. Zoe sort of shut him up. I saw Craig's citicism of Sophie's dance but not Abbey's. Len is the ballroom expert, but does seem to have gone a bit odd recently with his marking < and his cheesy grin is getting on my nerves>

digerd · 19/11/2013 18:21

I think Brendan will adapt it to her personality and instead of a raunchy 'theme' it could be a sweet lady-like innocent dance of love?

My immediate thought was like Romeo and Juliette or The lady and the TrampGrin

FrankelInFoal · 19/11/2013 18:30

Finally! Apparently tonight they're actually going to teach some steps on ITT. Why they can't do this every day to give people something to look out for,mi don't know.

Fiderer · 19/11/2013 18:49

Really enjoyed that with Pascha and Janette.

Frankel I think someone may be reading our threads Wink

FrankelInFoal · 19/11/2013 18:53

Hmm, what else should we demand? Wink

JaneEyresHeir · 19/11/2013 18:59

More Karen in Choreography Corner Frankel!

Fiderer · 19/11/2013 19:00

Karen Hardy as judge instead of Darcey
Then only 2 dances a week
No "comedy" VTs, training & info please.

That'll do for a start Grin

awaynboilyurheid · 19/11/2013 20:11

and get rid of Bruce

CloudOfStarlings · 19/11/2013 22:07

Did you all watch the Charleston from DWTS that Monkseal linked to?

I can't decide if I think this is better than Natalie's or not?!! Natalie's swivel action was a hundred times better but the conviction in the DWTS one is so much better!
AndiMac · 19/11/2013 22:14

Derek Hough can do no wrong in my eyes. But never minding him, that charleston worked much better because it kept up the original tempo.

Horsemad · 19/11/2013 22:25

That Charleston from DWTS was much better than Natalie's imo.

It just made me want to get up and dance, whereas Natalie's didn't.

IHadADreamThatWasNotAllADream · 19/11/2013 23:37

If ever there was a dance where Mercedes Amber was going to beat all comers then a hip-hop-flavoured charleston was it. She's the first DWTS contestant I've ever really wanted to win.

Fiderer · 20/11/2013 07:08

I've never watched DWTS - funny how it's like SCD but not. Like a parallel universe, I'd much rather have Bruce than the US guy.

So Len & Bruce are still doing both and flying back & forth every week? Blimey, I'd get dizzy.

Monk Seal has a new saying at the top of his blog: Vill Crush You Vith Love. Wonder if it's a homage to Iveta.

Loved his review, esp:

"COLD HARD WOMAN NO CRY OVER SPILT RUMBA! WHEN IVETA SISTER CRY AS CHILD, NO POTATO FOR HER! spit "

Fiderer · 20/11/2013 07:41

And Brendan's Snood of Despair Grin

FrankelInFoal · 20/11/2013 08:08

DWTS is like Strictly on acid Grin. All the prop nonsense came from there and I really don't like the cheesiness when they make musical celebs perform a routine to their own music - I've never quite recovered from seeing Billy Ray Cyrus attempt to dance (I think) a Cha Cha Cha to Achey Breaky Heart Hmm

The one thing I did see them do, which I think Strictly could benefit from, was a "surprise" dance. The couples were told which style they would be dancing and asked to put together a routine, but given no music. They got their piece of music only a few hours before the show so they could practice, but it meant they has to actually "learn" the whole routine and how to keep time without relying on the piece of music for cues.

I don't know if they do it anymore.

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2013 08:31

Yaaaay I can do the cha cha now !!!!! at last like Fiderer and Digerd said they've taught us a dance Grin Grin

Why do they have to copy the Yanks? it doesn't improve anything on SCD that's for sure. Unless the dance lesson came from them!
