Thread four here we go! Link to the last thread here.

So, Natalie's through to next week and we'll see who's going to be joining her in the Tower Ballroom Smile So much nicer than Wembley.

I don't think James is wooden at all! I really enjoyed his stuff last night.

Ana Matronic was very insightful and articulate.

Yeees TheHeadless But I'm not sure I agreed with her about the use of non traditional music.I LOVE the 'proper' ballroom music when they occasionally use it so do the dancers from what they say. (if I was to stop watching SCD the main reasons would be some of the music and the screaming audience Grin)

AndiMac · 16/11/2013 11:10

The standing ovations for managing to move around the floor without falling over do get tedious, but I do enjoy the dances just as much when done to the right modern song.

I'm not looking forward to the Paso done to Carmen (too much of a caricature) nor to Bon Jovi (have never liked them much) tonight.

TheHeadlessLadyofCannock · 16/11/2013 11:12

I love the proper stuff too (I'm pleased that Susanna is dancing her paso to music from Carmen), but I thought she was right that just occasionally a modern song can be, unexpectedly, 'just right'. Often they're terrible, though, I agree Grin

FrankelInFoal · 16/11/2013 14:32

Traditional music just works so much better, after all it was usually written to be danced to. I agree some modern stuff works well, but most if it ends up being butchered and the dances shoehorned to fit.

ppeatfruit · 16/11/2013 14:33

True Andi but when you've got someone as bad as Dave he DID deserve it for just managing to move his arms and legs together Grin. His lack of co-ordination was epic!

ppeatfruit · 16/11/2013 14:35

I was watching The 2 Ronnies best of show and they showed the ballroom scene I then realised how effing good they were at dancing!!!!Grin

digerd · 16/11/2013 15:54

ppeat
Was that the Olde Tyme? I loved that one and would love to see it again. Which channel was it on?

digerd · 16/11/2013 16:02

I was out walking the dog, just found it on Gold +1 but think I've missed it.Sad.

digerd · 16/11/2013 16:30

Found it on You Tube < but the picture focus was not good> and loved it.
Memories of the Gay Gordons, Valeta and St Bernard's Waltz were so nostalgic for me. We used to do them at holiday camps yonks ago.
Smile

I watched ITT last night. Did I get it right that Abbie is dancing another ballroom dance. Surely they are running out of dances that require stiff posture and being held in hold? Had to laugh when Jason Donovan went 'off message' and said that we could do without Abbie's hair flicking. Quick backtracking with comment about how pretty she is quickly inserted.

Noseynoonoo · 16/11/2013 17:07

Had to rewatch it. Jason had to backtrack and say the hair business is 'part of her charm'. Bleurgh!

AndiMac · 16/11/2013 17:19

FrankelInFoal, I assumed the Ballroom Blitz will be done to . We shall see - just over an hour to go!!
