Starting a new thread quickly before tonight's results show! We talk too much Grin

On a brighter note no Bruce next week :)

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 03/11/2013 19:59

Will somebody tell us what are the rumours??

HellesBellesThinksSometimes · 03/11/2013 20:02

Presumably the rumours are about the fact that two extremely attractive people are dancing together and we all know what that must mean! Pathetic.

I very much doubt that there would be so many comments about their "chemistry" if that were the case because she is married and peolle would feel awkward drawing attention to an affair. In front of them anyway.

I thought abbey danced that better the first time.

FrankelInFoal · 03/11/2013 20:02

Just been reading the stories about the alleged Karen v Ola falling out. If they are true Karen has fallen a great deal in my estimation. Ola is a vastly superior dancer to Karen, you only need to look at their competition records to see that.

DaveBussell · 03/11/2013 20:03

I couldn't give a crap about any Abbey rumours, I think she's great.

elcranko - I think Mark is a lot more serious about it all than Dave so not really the comedy underdog - he's more like the Lisa Riley figure, someone who has a lot of potential but is having to battle the problem of their weight. I really loved watching Lisa last series but in the end even she admitted that her weight was putting too much of a limitation on her ability to compete.

LeBearPolar · 03/11/2013 20:03

I love Pasha Sad. DS is devastated too. But I didn't want Abbey and Aljaz to go out either - Dave should have gone!

To be fair, I think Dave was just as appalled by the result as we are.

And what are the rumours?

colleysmill · 03/11/2013 20:04

Dh has just said much the same thing hobnob.

every week they say "vote for your favourite" which isn't necessarily the same as "vote for the best dancer"

digerd · 03/11/2013 20:04

I didn't think Dave was even nice, but he looked shocked and think he apologised to Abbey - he did not look happy.

Poor Rachel and Pasha. I thought they may be in the bottom 2 but with Dave.

Impomea · 03/11/2013 20:05

Grin brilliant name DaveBussell !

I hate it when people hint at rumours and then won't say what the rumour is, it's very childish "I have secret and I'm not telling you ner" either spill the beans or keep it to yourself.
I've no idea what Abbey or Rachel are actually famous for so wouldn't have been bothered if either of them went.
I only support celebrities I've heard of which admittedly is only about 4 of this lot. No idea what the fat bloke is famous for. Dave, Sophie and Fiona are the ones left I know, although I rarely vote anyway.
If the judges wanted a real dance competition they should only let the public vote count for 10% and vary their marks more. The comedy acts rarely make it beyond the final 4 or 5, and whether you're eliminated 3rd or 7th doesn't really matter much.

digerd · 03/11/2013 20:12

DaveB
Agree about Mark. I think the viewers didn't vote for Abbey as thought she was safe, however, who are voting for Dave?Confused

DaveBussell · 03/11/2013 20:15

digerd - same people who voted for John Sarge and Widdy etc as Hobnobs says. They're not too bothered about all the serious dance stuff, just enjoy the show overall which is fair enuff really. I doubt he'll last much longer.

JaneEyresHeir · 03/11/2013 20:21

Ann Widdecombe wasn't voted out until week 10...

FrankelInFoal · 03/11/2013 20:26

John Sargent didn't get voted out - he walked.

digerd · 03/11/2013 20:31

Widdes was with Anton, though, much beloved by us maturer ladies Grin. I don't find Dave funny or entertaining, but enjoy Mark's performances as he seems to be genuinely trying and taking it seriously. He also has shown some style and feeling.

NothingMoreScaryThanAHairy · 03/11/2013 20:35

wow that was a shock- now have a devastated dd2 (6) who's just had her hair cut short and told everyone she looks like Rachel from strictly Grin.

FushandChups · 03/11/2013 20:40

2rebecca - i thought the rumours were around illegal substances that some people put up their nose.. Could be wrong and don't believe it of Abby anyway!! (hope i don't get deleted...)

Anyways - Sundays aren't great for me so missed the show but was very surprised by the bottom two, Abby in particular. The right person stayed and tbf, despite the judges comments, i didn't think Rachel had really come back that much..

However, gutted Dave is still in.. he seems ok and i know its not his fault (and they're all grown ups who's lives and careers are probably not going to get fucked up by being voted off) but he needs to go home next week!

I'm also sad about the whole 'Karen v Ola' stuff.. I like them both and not knowing anything about their actual dance careers, think Karen is a bit out of order (especially as Ola has actually won the show!) i know Karen got quite far with ole Nicky Westlife but probably more about him being in Westlife than her amazing choreography. Having said that, the Chris & Ola dance which always sticks in everyone's mind is the Charleston and, correct me if I'm wrong, but Ola didn't choreograph that - the Charleston was still so new they had other pro's to help??

I don't think Susanna is cheesy - although she was smiling with more twinkle than her feet were. Bonnie Lanfgord was a trained dancer and her smile was stage cheesy. Anybody remember her on TV as a child in Just William, was it called? She had long abundant ringlets. Or are you all far too young < or I'm far too old>Grin

coffeeinbed · 03/11/2013 20:46

I don't think winning the show means the professional dancer is necessarily better.
They just had better luck in the draw.

NomDeOrdinateur · 03/11/2013 20:48

2rebecca: I was referring to a couple of petty, trivial, gossipy articles which have been published in the mainstream press - very mild and a total non-story. They're probably online, but I'm not going to link to them because I don't agree with publishing shit-stirring rumours about people. I only mentioned them to say it would be a shame if she was losing votes as a result of tabloid gossip, but I think that the "public assumed she was safe" explanation probably counts for a lot more anyway. So pleased she got through to next week, hopefully people will bother to vote for her next time! Smile

FrankelInFoal · 03/11/2013 20:49

I should clarify, when I said "look at their competition results" I meant professional dance competition results, rather than SCD.

digerd · 03/11/2013 20:52

I think this year has the least famous celebs in it . I didn't know any of them.

NomDeOrdinateur · 03/11/2013 20:59

Coffeeinbed - do the trained dancers really do all of the choreography themselves? If so, I'd imagine that having a partner who is especially good at strategic choreography (to make the most of strengths and hide weaknesses) would be a huge advantage for some of the celebs.
