This is a thread for all fans of the daily soap 'Doctors'. BBC1, 1.45pm.

So, Halloween is nearly upon us. Which of the Halloween smileys suits the Doctors cast and it's viewers best (bear with me, this is tenuous):

Halloween Smile - Mandy (FOD), will make a pleasant witch (can we burn her at the stake?)
Halloween Grin - Karen (Gobby), she's got a mouth that big.
Haloween Sad - Howard (TBFE), tough times for him atm.
Halloween Wink - Heston, you sly old dog you.
Halloween Shock - everyone elses face on hearing about Hestons prowess.
Halloween Envy - Kevin, in awe of Heston, poor bloke.
Halloween Angry - Barry, on being turned down by his latest love interest.
Halloween Blush - Jimmi, on not realising it's Halloween andthentalkingtooquicklyandquietlytocoveruphisembarrasment
Halloween Confused and Halloween Hmm - us, the Doctors watchers. WTF?!
Halloween Biscuit - Mrs T. She doesn't do Halloween.

Regulars, please sign in. Leave your broomsticks by the door. Lurkers, newbies, please join, jump in, ask questions. All welcome Grin

Yes, but how long must I have been watching when I consider 4 years ago as "recent"??? I am doomed.

SacreBlue · 10/11/2013 17:22

I've been reminiscing with Twin Peaks this weekend not drooling over the actor playing Bobby, oh no

I can't believe that's 4yrs ago Anne - how long ago must the rape story with Mac's son be?? I think that's the earliest storyline I can remember I hope

It's all just a reminder of getting older Grin I bought a blue checked nylon housecoat as part of a costume for work recently. I started to wear it ironically around the house and now I am no longer sure if I am still being ironically funny or have slipped into old biddy territory Blush

It is cosy tho, and the pockets are great for pegs when hanging out washing and it gives me an affinity with MrsT

Sparklingbrook · 10/11/2013 17:40

Did you look like this Sacre?

MsNobodyAgain · 10/11/2013 18:00

4 years. No way!!

I have slept-parented through the last 4 years then as it is all a blur but I remember Zara and Jack shagging.

Grin all bar the rubber gloves. I must get some to com

SacreBlue · 10/11/2013 19:07

Complete the look. Damn posting from a phone's a pita!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/11/2013 19:45

Well looking back at the past characters list here I can only conclude that I've been watching regularly for 10 years, and dipping in and out from the beginning.

I originally thought I started watching in 2006, but Mac left in 2006, and I remember his son Liam raping Faith, so that must have been before then, and I remember his second wife's affair with the priest, and when he hit the bottle after his son with Kate was born.

When I look at that list I can remember well characters who left in 2001, so I think I must have started at the beginning, and then drifted only watching now and again before coming back in about 2003 and watching from then onwards.

How much of my life have I squandered watching WTF episodes of Doctors??

cinnamongreyhound · 10/11/2013 20:42

I don't remember mac, Julia was in charge when I started watching.

Our garage is dh's gym and almost nothing can be stored in there without some kind of rage from him, it's something I don't talk about or I get Angry where's my room all to myself?!?! And breathe!

OodaresingingoftheDoctorDonna · 10/11/2013 20:45

Shock Anne I'm a newbie compared to that. Probably from redundancy in 2008 I watched on/off and gradually increased peaking with the handbag episode when I posted WTF here and you lot sucked me in !

OodaresingingoftheDoctorDonna · 10/11/2013 20:47

the handbag thread I've just been reminiscing in my naive days of expecting patients!

MsNobodyAgain · 10/11/2013 20:54

Much longer than me Anne. I got into properly about 2006/2007. I saw some episodes when I was on mat leave with DD who was born in 2003 but then I went back to work (only to get unexpectedly up-duffed with the twins) when she was 8 months old. Doh!

Don't think I saw tv for a few years after that Grin.

I quite liked Simon as a character actually. Remember Cherry trying to hit on him before realising he was gay? I'd forgotten about Lily - she was rather uptight as I recall.

Memories. Sigh..

cinnamon it took several skips and a lot of hard work to clear my garage last year. Bloody nightmare.

I can't bear to go in the loft. I know there's a lawnmower in there. Nice and handy eh? Hmm

Proper newbie here, only started watching regularly last Oct when I had 6 weeks off work following an op. Before that I had watched occasionally over the years, knew some of the characters but never really followed the storylines, I remember a Christmas episode with Gobby (?) trying to get a turkey from the butcher and failing, Jimmi getting together with Cherry after a brunette ex tried to get back with him, a receptionist being murdered, all those were fairly recent, last two or three years.

I have no garage Sad.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/11/2013 21:20

Arrrgghh!! Bloody hell!

DH let DD take out a toy with her when they went out at the weekend and of course she has put it down somewhere and lost it. This is why I do not let her take out anything she doesn't mind losing.

Anyway, we obviously need to replace it to avoid her whining about it for the next 6 months, and of course it is something we bought on holiday. I can only find it on Amazon from a marketplace seller, and they only have one left, so I have to get it from them. The price? Bloody £20. For a random piece of tat.

I have told DH again that as he is as bad as DD for losing stuff that he should remember the "do not take anything out of the house that is not very cheap and very available" rule. Angry

OodaresingingoftheDoctorDonna · 10/11/2013 21:24

We have a garage but not at the house. It started well with tools etc on shelves. It's now got a bed in it ( dh plans to convert it) , a carry bag of logs and a couple of bin bags of bubble wrap. Oh & chicken food! Loft is full of camping stuff we've never used suitcases and stuff for kids to grow into.

I love a good skip though. Renovating the house meant we had loads and I miss them

MsNobodyAgain · 10/11/2013 21:38

That would give me 'the rage' Anne Angry

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/11/2013 21:43

I do have "the rage", MsN. This is an accurate image of my face at the moment: Angry

SacreBlue · 10/11/2013 22:25

Our loft is full of toys & clothes & needs a good clear out. Once upon a time we moved every 12-18months & never really had the time to accumulate tat

DS always left his coat behind, with me when he went to his gran's or auntie's etc. Each place ended up buying him a coat (& a toothbrush) for when he went to stay. He came to think of his 'country' wardrobe & 'city' wardrobe. I blame this for his somewhat gentrified outlook despite his actual working class one Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 10/11/2013 22:28

We have a loft rule that if something goes up there something has to come down. You can nearly see the floor up there. Smile

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/11/2013 22:33

Our loft is empty, apart from an old headboard that the previous owners left up there. All our junk is in the garage. If it went in the loft we would never see it again as neither DH nor I will go up there.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/11/2013 22:38

Our loft is pretty full too, it is boarded and has a light so it is fairly easy to use. Milly the Doctors themed cat follows me up the ladder every time I go up, she got locked up there for a couple of hours once, so have to shut her in another room beforehand now. We have the one up one down rule and have big clear outs periodically when the rule appears to have been bent. Most of it is stuff we really want or need to keep though, just no space downstairs.

Sparklingbrook · 10/11/2013 22:46

Same here Who, I keep the summer/winter duvets up there, suitcases, all the Christmas clutter my Duran Duran memorabilia and photos.

We have a loft ladder so we are up and down but Sparkling Cat has never fancied it. Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/11/2013 23:18

Milly started doing it within a week of arriving from the rescue centre, and has done it every time we have forgotten to shut her in another room. I went up to get the winter duvet yesterday and looked down and she was sat halfway up blocking my way. I had to resort to dropping items of clothing on her from a bag of hand me downs to get her to shift.

I also have my 80s music collection up there, all my vinyl plus tickets, tour tee shirts, you name it. Those were the days Smile.

Sparklingbrook · 10/11/2013 23:20

She must think there's something exciting up there. Grin

Ooh yes I have all my vinyl up there too. But no record player. Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/11/2013 23:23

I think DH has a turntable up there but we've got no space for either it or records downstairs. I would like to get them all onto my Ipod one day. A lot of it I ended up replacing on CD/download, but some of it was more obscure
