Why the boiler suit? They take the clothes to preserve evidence...but this is 8 weeks on, there's going to be fuck all evidence in what he was wearing 8 fucking weeks later

Joe discovered something about Danny (perhaps Danny was blackmailing him over something murky? An abuse allegation or something?) and went to meet him after finding out that Danny was hinting at this secret to Tom. He arranged a meeting (perhaps as Tom , or maybe Tom was meant to show up but overslept?). Having it out with Danny, he tried to summon Tom from his bed by text from his wife's phone, and Danny tried too (hence the texts from 'mum' and Danny). Something went wrong, Danny got too lippy, and Joe killed him. He cleans the body, takes it out to sea to dump, but then realises he is a known user of the boat from the paint balling trip, so comes back to shore and arranges it to look like a fall.

Tom knows his dad is well-dodgy and is trying to protect him, and keep the secret of the alleged abuse. Which is also why he had the idea of accusing the vicar of abuse if he surrendered his laptop: he knows that adults will go to any lengths to avoid that stigma."

So, if we take out the text stuff out, because we learnt last week that they weren't from the night of the murder but thought they were at the time, that makes me substantially correct
