Loose Women (aaaarrrghhhhhh!): Part Two.

I put Part Two because I have already ranted about them a while ago.
My last rant was probably about this too, ie, doesn't matter what the topic of conversation is - Maggie Thatcher, alcohol, teenagers, education, the creation of the universe etc etc - it doesn't matter, each panellist manages to get onto her own fave topic, as follows:-

Denise Welch - she is an ex druggie and liked a tipple, also divorced twice, once to that bloke from 'Bendorm',she's about to get married to some waste of space called Lincoln. She has been on Dancing on Ice!!!

Andrea Maclean - also divorced twice, and gives a silly schoolgirl giggle every time she mentions it, oh, and she's NOT getting married again (yeah that's what Katie Price said)

Lisa Maxwell - has been engaged donkeys years to Po, no, not Po off the Tellytubbies , PO (she means Paul but this is how she says it) and she has a daughter called Beau.

Last but not least Carol McGiffin - she has a toy boy called Mark, she has a toyboy called Mark, she has a toyboy called Mark, she has a toyboy called Mark, she has a t....

Like I said...aaarrrgghhhhhh!!!!!!

I watched the beginning Sparkling.
Yes they did talk about Boston with their usual incisive insight.
Bring back Kaye Adams, though I think she jumped ship.

Sparklingbrook · 16/04/2013 17:29

I'm glad I missed that then Lady. Sad

I like it when Emma Willis does the 'driving' bit.

sensesworkingovertime · 16/04/2013 19:44

Think that must be Lisa Maxwell.

Yes Coleen was ok, she was more bearable Smile

Sparkling you missed Gok Wan but don't worry he'll be on again in a couple of weeks...isn't he always?

DW made me cringe when first out her mouth about Boston was that she has 'friends' there and had to ring to make sure they were ok...give me a break....was it really necessary to mention that? Fair enough if her friends had been actually in the crowd! Come on Denise, it's cheap and nasty to hijack every topic and turn it into a discussion about yourself.

And relax Brew

I used to love Loose woman when it first began several thousand yrs ago with Kay Adams and Nadia Swalhala. Went right downhill when they left. Stopped watching a few years ago.

Yes. Lisa Maxwell. Lives in the country and has some interesting political opinions. Annoys me. But tbf I shouldn't judge her based on the few times I have seen her.

Sparklingbrook · 16/04/2013 20:42

Right. Fantasy Loose Women panel for me-

Emma Willis 'driving'.
Janet Street Porter
Sue Perkins
Sara Cox

sensesworkingovertime · 17/04/2013 16:50

Say it as it is StickEmUp, say it as it is, don't be shy now!

Sparkling what a good idea, I am going to mull over mine for a little while, watch this space......

Chipstick10 · 17/04/2013 19:37

Urrg I can't stand sue Perkins.

Sparklingbrook · 17/04/2013 19:38

Who would you like to swap her for Chipstick?

LadyBeagleEyes · 17/04/2013 19:42

How about
Katie Hopkins
Liz Jones
Samantha Brick
Shona Sidbury
Now that would be a car crash battle of egos.
I'd pay to watch.

Sparklingbrook · 17/04/2013 19:44

They would all want to drive Lady. Grin

Chipstick10 · 17/04/2013 20:14

I know this is terribly un pc sparklinbrook but I can't think of any women on tv who are not irritating. How awful is that!

Sparklingbrook · 17/04/2013 20:15

Bung a bloke in then Chipstick. 'Loose People' Grin

Chipstick10 · 17/04/2013 20:19

Grin I can think of hundreds of blokes, I'm liking loose people.

marjproops · 17/04/2013 21:03

i lOVE JSP. Jane mcDs okay too. the rest????
worse is vordeman. why cant she ever wear clothes that fit right? too tight.

sensesworkingovertime · 17/04/2013 21:05

oooh Chipstick get your thinking cap on, there must be some women with half a brain who don't have to harp on about their boyfriends/husbands/ex-husbands/partners/alcohol battles etc etc every 5 mins in order to have a sensible discussion.

I would go straight across the Atlantic for my first catch and hire the one and only Joan Rivers. Then, kind of 'same but different' (both petite blonde and 79 ish) I would have Mary Berry (she's a bit of a devil with that Paul Hollywood). Definitely Mel and Sue and someone with a bit more clout like Kirsty Wark (is that how you spell it, her from newsnight, DH fancies her a bit).

Going back to original whinge, how could I forget the cringe-making Leslie Garrett who used to go on about her big boobies (yawn) with a cheeky giggle all the flippin' time?

OP posts:
sensesworkingovertime · 17/04/2013 21:08

Sorry Chippy that would be 'Loose Men', you know, the programme where 4 blokes are supposed to be talking about a current topic and end up talking about their wives/ex-wives/girlfriends/ex-girlfriends/partners/alcohol problems/drug problems.....ad infinitum

OP posts:
sensesworkingovertime · 17/04/2013 21:11

Hi Marj, glad of your company, yeah JSP is ok, tries a bit too hard to be controversial for my liking at times. As I've said I don't mind Jayne McDonald, she pretty straight talking.

OP posts:
LadyBeagleEyes · 17/04/2013 21:12

I think Jo Brand would be good.

marjproops · 17/04/2013 21:16

That men thing would be sky sports and all they talk about is football Grin

LineRunner · 17/04/2013 21:28

Glenda Jackson. Get her on.

bleedingheart · 18/04/2013 10:46

Kaye Adams was knowledgable and more political I think. The others get all their opinions from the tabloids and say ' I don't know about this but...' and then give their simplistic opinion.

I used to like Jo something who was on, short curly hair? I don't watch it now but I did switch on yesterday to hear Andrea shouting at the producer or someone when they left her microphone on. 'Steve, I can't cope with you talking to me right now!' or some such!

OhLori · 18/04/2013 12:38

Very funny thread OP.

But I do have a soft spot for some of them, especially

Carole - very honest
MacDonald - very humerous, lovely dry, Northern wit
Sherie (she says some crazy things but also really deep sometimes).

I'm not mad about Vordeman - she is too worried about how she comes across as if its all a public relations exercise.

The only thing that really annoys me is the amount of botox on the programme. My 10 year old once screamed in horror at the West Country chair of the panel "My goodness, what is wrong with that woman's face?" Grin. And then I looked along the panel and saw everyone had these shiny, stretched faces.

Also, I find the male guests (Jason Donovan and so on) usually less interesting than the panellists.
