Cheering on the family is becoming a habit!

Well I think alot of them could find a solution to their problems without going to the other side of the world!

Meglet · 15/02/2013 09:56

Yes, they look really poor now Hmm.

Lollybrolly · 15/02/2013 09:57

Those kids were not kitted out in Primark were they!

MrsJREwing · 15/02/2013 09:58

Holister!

BinarySolo · 15/02/2013 09:58

Yes meglet they can't even afford to go skiing. Sad

ssd · 15/02/2013 09:59

why do people need to take a week out and be on telly to re evaluate their lives Confused

I do it all the bloody time

BinarySolo · 15/02/2013 10:00

Free holiday innit?

ssd · 15/02/2013 10:00

the mum this week was nice though, just dont get all the "we have no money but are much happier", couldnt they have worked that out before?

ssd · 15/02/2013 10:01

solo, I've often thought that too, maybe we should try it havent had a holiday for years and years, maybe we should go on the telly so i can think about the bleeding obvious

Vagndidit · 15/02/2013 10:02

If that is what "having no money" looks like, then God help the rest of us in this country.Angry

ssd · 15/02/2013 10:03

yeah no money now means kids dont go skiing every year

MrsJREwing · 15/02/2013 10:24

Before the 80's average people didn't have loads of holidays abroad. In a few years they will have three in school and she can teach full time again if she wants.

SomeBear · 15/02/2013 10:43

I'm a bit "shruggy" about this family. Glad they didn't take on a vineyard but I do feel sorry for them not having a new car and having to go camping... And the humiliation of having to change postcodes. Hmm
(Good job I'm not bitter about the ancient car outside my house. I do love my tent though!)

Passmethecrisps · 15/02/2013 10:47

Blimey! Only caught glimpses of the programme thanks to poorly baby! but who needs to watch it?

Anyway, my thoughts were:

Why do people assume they will be able to pick up new skills and jobs while also having more family time? A bloody vine yard? Eh?

Izzy seemed precocious yet eminently sensible. Surely it shouldn't take a small child saying "couldn't we do nice things in the UK? Couldn't daddy get a different job in the UK?" For you to realise that this is a total nonsense.

Right, I have decided that I fancy a wee holiday. I have categorically no interest in moving to Australasia but I can pretend. All I need to do is keep repeating the phrase "it's just a better quality of life"

Passmethecrisps · 15/02/2013 10:49

I know somebear! I was Shock at that comment. How does a child know about such things? I mean, what was their postcode R1C H1E ?

BinarySolo · 15/02/2013 13:18

I think there was a slight edge of pride when the parents said about the postcode the said 'she's a snob'

Where does she get it from?!

Sparklingbrook · 15/02/2013 13:32

Just watched. I think the girls were churning out what the parents had been saying TBH.

MrsJREwing · 15/02/2013 13:37

Or what friends or relatives talk about, she did seem very grown up for her age, maybe she is an earwig child.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 15/02/2013 14:38

My seven year old ds talks like that. Not necessarily ear wigged although it could be of course.

Aftereightsarenolongermine · 15/02/2013 19:10

They didn't seem a match to me. She's too sensible &too nice for someone like him.

Glad they stayed. Well done Izzy for pointing out the obvious.

DizzyHoneyBee · 16/02/2013 08:45

I've heard a lot of things said about Reading but really Biscuit
Spot on Izzy though....

I could imagine them moving somewhere like Northumberland after all the talk, but Reading?!!

What did the single mum with two boys do about NZ in the end? The end didn't record :(

BookFairy · 16/02/2013 23:26

Dizzy they stayed in the UK and seemed happy.

I just caught up with Thursday. Why are people so dilusional about what they will be able to afford? 5 bedrooms/big garden/pool/spacious "living space".... I love the cat's bum mouths when estate agents value their property. Surely you should do this yourself so you have a general idea!

DizzyHoneyBee · 17/02/2013 14:30

Thanks BookFairy (love your name BTW).
It only takes minutes on right move to get an idea of house prices, no reason not to check.

Maybe I should go on the programme and say I am selling my semi and emigrating to Australia and want a house like this and then act all disappointed when my house doesn't get valued at the right amount Grin

BookFairy · 17/02/2013 23:30

Do it!!!! Grin

DizzyHoneyBee · 18/02/2013 09:06

is anybody watching it this morning?
