Keith Lemon - Am I the only person who can't stand him?

I don't find him amusing in the slightest. I cannot stomache the sight of him. He gets paid lots of money for being a complete moron.

I get that it's an act - obviously. I just don't get what's funny about it. And I can see that I may be missing out on something as he's obviously very popular but I just don't think he's that funny.

I love and cringe at Sacha Baron Cohen characters and the inbetweeners but I loathe Keith lemon. I enjoyed a percentage of Bo selecta but I was horrified when I saw Keith lemon on This Morning and he kept banging on about chocolate starfish. I thought they'd never have him back after that performance but he's been on loads of times since.
I'm broadminded and have a filthy and at times sick sense of humour, I grew up reading Viz mag.
A lot of his appeal must be for teenagers and the stupid because he just comes across as desperate.

I love Young Ones, Not the 9 o'clock News, Red Dwarf and Billy Connolly. My dad used to hire the videos for us both to watch.

I don't like when they get all twattish to the audience though. Silly harmless and self depreciating comedy is my preferred option.

The only thing I've complained to offcom about -fucking hate the character.
I complained that Keith and the women on his show had a back to school special complete with uniforms,when he told them they looked like a special school and they all obligingly gurned in impressions of kids with special needs and continued to bang on about looking 'special' I thought a complaint was warranted.
Their response was that there was a lot worse that had been edited out before it aired!

That is disgusting defineme. Damn right a complaint was warranted. Can't believe offcom response! It just shouldn't be allowed and it shouldn't be put on telly. Makes my blood boil. I deteste Keith Lemon character and his stupid show. I don't know what channel it's on but is it the same channel that supports Children In Need? How can they see the suffering of the children and then ridicule like this? Appalling!

You are not alone, OP. He is an appalling little man, and I could find more (& less offensive) humour in the gutter.
Worrying, I find it increasingly difficult to find newer comedians who aren't hitching themselves to the bandwagon of this style.

Keith Lemon wasn't real two years ago when this thread started and he isn't real still. He's a character. I assume Leigh Francis is a normal person.
