I'm not sure how I feel about it

The poor women after 'doing' so much struggling with day-to-day life

I watched it. Really enjoyed it. DH not so much I don't think Grin

evenkeel · 07/09/2012 10:03

Yep, I watched it. A nice concept but it got rather soapy as it went on. And next week I see they're going to trot out the tired old cliche of getting one of the women to lure the killer, only to lose track of her......yawn!

UptoapointLordCopper · 07/09/2012 10:26

I watched it. Not sure how I feel about it. I think it will get predictable. And it's hard to stop ranting about women's rights while watching. So not sure how much DH got from the programme. Grin

maryquant · 07/09/2012 19:52

I have sky+ it to watch when DH at work.
I love Julie Graham and would watch her in anything.

BegoniaBampot · 07/09/2012 20:29

I liked it, least it's not another crappy reality TV show.

springydaffs · 10/09/2012 00:34

I watched it. Freaked me out a lot bit. Think I'm going through a sensitive phase at the mo...!

I just love the clothes. Would watch it just for that

KurriKurri · 10/09/2012 10:43

I really enjoyed it - it fills my old fashioned whodunnit requirements very nicely Grin also I love Anna Maxwell Martin in anything, - she is my girl crush of the moment.

Does anyone actually know anyone with a real photographic memory? - that girl is a very convenient person to have on the team Grin (I do know that Photog. Mems exist - but surely they must be very, very unusual?)

springydaffs · 10/09/2012 19:57

suspend belief, my dear - it's a good plot device Wink

UptoapointLordCopper · 10/09/2012 22:07

That Alun Armstrong character on New Tricks also have phenomenal memory. (Just finished watching. Grin) I also know people who remember things, like bus routes - which number went where, what the original routes were, what changed etc etc. Don't know if this is photographic memory. But whatever it is I think it's probably unusual...

valiumredhead · 11/09/2012 12:46

I enjoyed it -can't wait for the next one.

CapuccinoCannoliLover · 11/09/2012 16:47

I enjoyed it. Good, escapist tv. Adore the clothes and agree, I love Anna Maxwell Martin.

Darkesteyeswithflecksofgold · 11/09/2012 21:03

I also enjoyed it. Completely different from the usual cop show we normally get.

MorningPurples · 13/09/2012 19:37

I missed it last week and it's not on catch-up anymore.

Is it a connected series? i.e., will I understand it if I watch tonight's episode? Or will I spoil it for myself and should wait until it's repeated from the start?

BartletForTeamGB · 13/09/2012 20:24

Morning, it's still on the ITV player please.

BartletForTeamGB · 13/09/2012 20:24

please? I meant to say "for me"!

DowagersHump · 13/09/2012 20:39

I really enjoyed it - like Scott & Bailey, it's nice to see women on telly as lead characters when they have more raison d'etre than wringing their hands over their relationships

MorningPurples · 13/09/2012 21:02

oh, thanks. the link from the itv website itself wasn't showing it anymore.

won't have time to watch it beforehand, but at least I can watch it after!

KatyMac · 13/09/2012 22:06

Well!

I still don't know if I like it

Watched tonight's - really rather good I thought.
I would quite happily live in any of their homes Grin

springydaffs · 14/09/2012 00:47

It does frighten me, you know. Maybe I'm a wimp but I find all that stuff so frightening - the sicko who is doing that stuff. What was that show with Helen Mirren as DCI? (it's still going I think, but a different actor as the DCI) I only watched one prog, too traumatised to watch another, as it was the same stuff: sickos who do vile things to women.

continuity was a bit crap - AMM's rolled-up fringe changed a lot within each scene. Plus the memory girl used the american phrase 'right now' (AAARRGGGGHHH) at one point. I can't bear the phrase now, let alone in a bloody period drama (how do these americanisms get in fgs?!)

Luuurve the clothes though. I'm seriously thinking of dressing like that (but where would you get the shoes??) I've been thinking of it for years and maybe it's time I did it. I found an amazing hand-knitted vintage sweater in a charity shop this year and I've been wearing it to death. Looking out for some ancient knitting patterns in charity shops now to knit some more (if you see any, please send them to me! they're only about 5p). Cottage industry, anyone? only takes about 4 thousand hours to knit one. peasy.

diddl · 14/09/2012 08:15

Prime Suspect?

Fantastic programme imo-but yes, the first one was a shocker!

UptoapointLordCopper · 14/09/2012 09:10

I found the domestic violence scarier than the psycho... Sad

InelegantlyWasted · 14/09/2012 09:14

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. I must confess I got a bit scared at the end when she went into the hospital Blush
Next weeks finale looks like it will be good (might have to hide behind my knitting again though.)

Oh, and I don't understand why she can't tell her husband what they are doing. Have I missed something?

valiumredhead · 14/09/2012 09:15

Official secrets act - her dh doesn't know she worked at Bletchley in the war.

springydaffs · 14/09/2012 11:12

I'm away next thursday - out of the country! ARGH. Have to catch up when I'm back in blighty
