Anyone else really looking forward to this?

I always remember, of course, the guy who was living in the scottish islands but then became a politician.

Who's watching?

SwedishEdith · 14/05/2012 21:06

Sue looks amazing at 56. How lucky to get to that age and still have your parents around as well

difficultpickle · 14/05/2012 21:08

I'm watching. Sue seems to have completely transformed herself.

Margerykemp · 14/05/2012 21:09

Yes very wrinkle free.

SwedishEdith · 14/05/2012 21:11

Young-looking hair as well.

LizzieTaylor · 14/05/2012 21:14

Does anyone know how old sue's daughter is?

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:21

I'm really enjoying this. Given these two have had 15 minutes each, it seems like there'll only be four of them on, don't you think?

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:24

This man breaks my heart.

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:24

Paul, that is.

StrangerintheHouse · 14/05/2012 21:25

Must be hard to keep track of them and persuade them all to take part. So disappointing when they review someone's life and then say, SoandSo decided not to take part in this programme.

They seem really content so far. Wonder if I'll be this happy at 56.

fatsamsgrandslam · 14/05/2012 21:27

It's a three-parter....so should hopefully feature 12 participants?

difficultpickle · 14/05/2012 21:28

Imperial why? He seems happy.

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:29

Interesting that the one who dropped out early on (after 21 I think) did so when he was working as a television producer.

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:32

Did anyone else cry when Neil said he thought he'd be walking around the streets of London, homeless, in seven years' time?

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:33

He's happy now, yes. It's looking at the films of him when he's younger and he's so vulnerable.

difficultpickle · 14/05/2012 21:33

Yes. I look at Neil as such a carefree child and feel sad at how hard his life has been. Clearly such an intelligent man.

AliveSheCried · 14/05/2012 21:38

im watching this too, always feel for him but he is happy and purposeful now. This is such a good series, but always slightly sad and wistful...I wonder how my life would come across.

AliveSheCried · 14/05/2012 21:40

Didnt know peter the teacher was going to be in this one -

googlenut · 14/05/2012 21:43

He would get an Aspergers diagnosis nowadays I reckon

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:44

Do you think? I thought he just had a problem with depression.

StrangerintheHouse · 14/05/2012 21:46

Very sad what he said about not having a child due to them inheriting from him.

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:46

I'm just a couple of years younger than these - funny that I feel I'm still at the start of my life yet they mysteriously seem to be late middle age!

ImperialBlether · 14/05/2012 21:47

My daughter has said that about herself, Stranger. She suffers from depression - it's a genetic trait handed down by her father. It upset me more than I can say.

difficultpickle · 14/05/2012 21:48

It is hard to watch a child so lively and full of hope turn into someone who was so despairing. Hope he is happy now. Ds is 7 and watching Neil makes me wonder how my ds will turn out.

SwedishEdith · 14/05/2012 21:48

At what age did you all start watching this series? I think I must have first seen it at 21 Up. I feel as though they've aged more during my lifetime than I have, weirdly
