Is it just me or does this programme get your into a hypnotic state. I find it so fasinating even though ive been there, done that. I spose you dont get to view it when you are going through labour yourself. Does anyone else love this programme.

how cute is the baby great to see 7 weeks later shes fab x

lucjam · 25/01/2012 22:02

hmm yes interesting bra for giving birth in!!!!

Elizabeth and her parents are just lovely aren't they.

TandB · 25/01/2012 22:03

I'm not crying - I've just got watery eyes for some reason......

ReindeerBollocks · 25/01/2012 22:04

Steve was clearly a very lovely man, who adores his wife and helps her reach her full potential (Trish was amazing). This is what relationships should be like!

Elizabeth was a cutie, and glad to see the follow up.

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/01/2012 22:05

That Dad is SO sorted. Trish is so lucky. Any woman would to have him.
That help/support doesn't just appear, even if asked for.

shagmundfreud · 25/01/2012 22:05

Oh goodness.

Sobbing..... Blush

Such a beautiful thing to see someone who's been so badly hurt reach their full human potential.

Hajdeby · 25/01/2012 22:05

My hat is off to Stephen, he is a hell of a guy supporting Trish like that and helping to enable her to become a hands-on mum. What a guy!

BigFatSpider · 25/01/2012 22:06

Wonderful episode - have almost stopped howling... Tempted to go over to ch4+1 and watch it all over again!

stressheaderic · 25/01/2012 22:07

'I want to keep her'. Such raw and simple emotion.
I keep welling up again thinking about her saying that.

Me and DP in bits here, both cried all the way through the birth.

Wonderful television. All the best to a lovely family for a happy future x

BeaMinor · 25/01/2012 22:08

Anyone watching on +1?

feedthegoat · 25/01/2012 22:08

I cried so much I've got a horrible snotty headache now. So worth it though to see the start of their lovely family.

scarletforya · 25/01/2012 22:09

Aw, little doll, great to see she came on a treat. Her parents are fabulous.

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/01/2012 22:09

And for him to say to her, that he might not have been lucky enough to have met her if she hadn't become disabled, and that the support is there to help her be a mum rather than take over from her

Shock That man has restored my faith in humanity and my current all time hero.

BeaMinor · 25/01/2012 22:09

Am already misty eyed. He seems lovely.

justonemorethread · 25/01/2012 22:09

I just caught the last 5 minutes of that... would someone mind giving me a short background to that baby Elizabeth birth? Was she supposed to give her up?

ImpatientOne · 25/01/2012 22:12

no justone she was just scared that someone would take her baby away.

Trish has an acquired brain injury from an RTA as a teenager so had physical and cognitive disabilities, she was amazing and has a lovely husband!

BearWith · 25/01/2012 22:13

Me too, feedthegoat. I don't care, that was so, so moving. Wow :)

Hajdeby · 25/01/2012 22:15

Baby Elizabeth was born after two rounds of IVF, I am crying even more now!

emmanana · 25/01/2012 22:16

Justone, grab a box of kleenex and watch it on 4OD. lovely lovely family.

justonemorethread · 25/01/2012 22:16

I was initially a bit 'urgh' when i saw someone giving birth on tv but when she started crying it was so lovely.. thanks, I just wanted to know, will def try to watch the next one
There are some lovely human beings, that little girl is truly a little miracle.

justonemorethread · 25/01/2012 22:19

Not that I disapprove of childbirth on tv, just in case anyone thinks I'm trying to make a point there. Off to bed but would love to have seen it.

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 25/01/2012 22:21

Elizabeths birth was lovely.

Isabella won't be loved any less than Elizabeth I'm sure, I think that's a very harsh thing to say. Remember its been very heavily edited and the mum was just worried about what her wee boy would think, I think that's understandable, I know I was thinking about what my son would think when a new baby came into our family. I don't think the Mum was disappointed about her being a baby at all. Give her a break.

leftmymistletoeatthedoor · 25/01/2012 22:25

Well no obviously she wasn't disappointed about her being a baby though a puppy would be cool

Shouldve read 'about her being a baby GIRL'

ReshapeWhileDamp · 25/01/2012 22:25

Agree with LeftMyMistletoe. We have no idea what's really going on inside these relationships and families, and the programmme producers clearly decided that the 'angle' on the first couple would be that they were sort of hoping that their fifth baby wouldn't be a girl. It's edited to death and I'm pretty sure the several sets of parents in OBEM would say 'But that's not us! We're not like that'.
