For everyone on the Danish Killing threads earlier in the year - good news!

Lund, Troels et al are coming back for a repeat of S1 "soon" according to a trailer on the Beeb earlier this evening. I'm wondering if this will lead into Series 2 which they said would be shown later this year?

You see thats right teej - my Kurt of choice would be Krister Henriksson as he was the one I saw first. I quite like our Kenneth but see it as a different kettle of sild in all honesty - unrelated in a way to the Swedish version I suppose. All versions make me want to burn my house down and start afresh or to make an immediate trip to Ikea Blush

WHAAAAT about BBC4???!??! No I did NOT see that - shall go google immediatement

JetLi · 18/08/2011 18:35

Its a fucking OUTRAGE

Angry
ImperialBlether · 18/08/2011 18:59

No, it HAS to be Krister Henriksson! Those are fantastic. And series 3 with his daughter and Stephan in are just brilliant.

I'm only paying my licence fee because of BBC 4!

ImperialBlether · 18/08/2011 20:42

Oh god, I've just gone on to IMDB and started reading the comments, and I just want to talk about it all over again!

teejwood · 18/08/2011 21:06

we're good at that, imp Wink
just think, the whole first series to pick apart again and then a whole new one

I got more than a bit addicted to that last series of Wallander and am feeling a bit lost now, so some more Scandicrime might help. Though Mr Rog thinks he's free of the weekly sight of the moody Swedish jumpers now and probably wouldn't welcome some moody Danish woollies instead.

(Oh, and I have a huge girl-crush on Lena Endre Blush ...but not in a sexual way...)

teejwood · 18/08/2011 22:23

Rog it's OK, The Killing is running on a nightly basis Sunday-Thursday so it'll be the daily sight of Danish woolies instead. And you can honestly say the jumper is one of the stars of the show. That will make it all better Wink

OP posts:
RoginaInWellies · 18/08/2011 23:09

Sunday-Thursday?! Nej! My Swedish gloomfest was barely tolerated on a weekly basis! We'll be living separate lives by Tuesday. But am tempted.

ImperialBlether · 18/08/2011 23:10

Leave him, Rogina!

teejwood · 18/08/2011 23:33

Rog if you haven't watched The Killing before, to be honest, by the time you have armed yourself with wine/beer, set up the incident boards around your telly and started noting down all the clues with whiteboard markers/chalk (delete as appropriate) ... well - you might not notice he's gone....

OP posts:
RoginaInWellies · 19/08/2011 09:29

Oooh Teej I'd actually like one of those boards and the associated stationery. (The see-through ones are funkier but pointless - why would you want to see the back? Confused)

I'll give The Killing a try, but will really, really miss my lessons in Swedish language and culture. Maybe a trip to Ikea would help? (I already suggested a trip to Sweden but it wasn't enthusiastically received. Surprisingly.)

Imp, leaving Mr Rog would be foolish when it takes two to build flat-pack furniture with only mild swearage, and he's pretty damn good with a screwdriver - as long as I take control of the instructions! (No double entendres intended Blush.)

ImperialBlether · 19/08/2011 10:45

I'd forgotten about the incident board! I was thinking last night about the ending - I was nearly driving myself mad with all the problems I had with it. It was just like the old days!

teejwood · 19/08/2011 12:50

Btw Jet you are right - fucking outrage is exactly what it is. Exactly how much more cheapo reality shite can be supported and what about those of us who like our drama to be a bit more representative of life through the ages/around the globe than just buying in the latest thing from the US? (Which, if it is any good and gets decent audiences inevitably will be bought up by Sky, thus denying many of us the chance to follow it anyway )

OP posts:
teejwood · 19/08/2011 12:51

yy imp - there were some great theories on the thread for series 1 Grin

teejwood · 19/08/2011 12:53

Rog Sweden is quite a nice place to visit, actually. MrRog might like it! You might want to avoid Ystad, though, it seems particularly violent there....Wink

I second teej; Sweden is beautiful. Have been with DP and a bunch of friends. House by a lake, own rowing boat and sauna, blueberry/mushroom picking ...

Beware the salty liquorice though.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 19/08/2011 13:33

teej, it was! Slightly dodgy/unreliable weather, which makes it a non-obvious destination when you're already in the unreliable-weather-centre that is the UK, but there's something so fresh and wholesome about it.

muminlondon · 19/08/2011 16:57

Really excited about The Killing!

But Angry Sad Shock what's that about BBC4? That would be a catastrophe. They can't mean it? I wouldn't miss BBC3 and couldn't give a monkeys about Gavin and Stacey.

Highlander · 21/08/2011 22:53

Aaaah, that's better. Forgotten that I was had slightly impure thoughts about Mayer Wink

ImperialBlether · 23/08/2011 19:49

It's just as good as the first time I saw it!

Couple of niggles, though (well, what else would you expect?):

How come Nanna's father stopped his car just as they found her car? Was he driving past?

Why do the schoolchildren all look like they're in their 20s?

Why didn't Nanna's little brothers cry when they were told of their sister's death? They mentioned she plays with them a lot, so surely they'd be distraught? Are they meant to be traumatised? (Don't envy the director trying to make a child seem traumatised.)

Oh and why doesn't Troels marry me never turn his lights on?
