yes exactly fauve. showing it from the childrens perspective is such a fantastic thing to do. really enlightening. the way that poor little girl was let down. surely it would have occurred to the woman who was thinking of adopting her beforehand of the changes in her life. I'm not sure they should tell the children its their "new mummy and daddy" and refer to them that way until they have all met a few times. seems so hard on them if it doesn't work out.

good luck to your sister jayzmummy, hope it works for her.

Just had the phone call.....my sister and BIL have been approved to adopt two same sex children in the age range of 3-8.

Not bad considering my BIL is 58 and my sister is 35 and has Asperger Syndrome....they both thought that any chance of having children would be dashed because of his age and her ASD. He is fitter than most 30 year olds I know and they will both make such fantastic parents.
They are both professional people (dentists) and have a small holding.....the children that will be placed with them will live a very charmed life which will be filled with so much love and affection.

Hurray for your sister and her husband, jayz!

I'm so glad they are able to adopt. Well wishes to the new family.

dp and I have talked about this a lot and after that programme are seriously considering it.First stop is an adoption open day in Brighton to answer any questions It seems the fact that I have had 2 kidney transplant although considered would not stop me so we are going to look into it.Ds is 11 and knows we are considering this and he was in tears at the programme and would make a lovely big brother for someone.

The designers Colin and Justin have moved back to Glasgow in order to take advantage of more liberal adoption laws in Scotland, as they also hope to become parents to an older child or perhaps to siblings.
