Fruitstick - you are not the only one. DS was convinced that Harry had been in Robin Hood - took us a while to work out who he meant, but once it had clicked would agree that there is quite a resemblance.

I had never seen Silent Witness before but my mum convinced me to watch it on Monday night.

I thought it was bloody great and will be watching next week!

Was slightly distracted though (as was my mum) at how much Harry looks like my step-dad !

No - Leo went to help Harry solving his GF's death. But I mean - it just wouldn't happen! I'd far rather see how they plausibly help solve crimes using their professional skills.

Aha! Saw Monday's episode, was shocked, didn't bother to watch Tuesday and so am delighted to hear that Harry is OK. Can someone explain how he managed not to get killed, please? Can't imagine any even vaguely plausible explanation . . .

There was no plausible explanation. Apart from the fact that he is a major character and apparently popular so the producers obviously wanted to keep him alive.

I knew that you have to suspend belief to an extent, but that was beyond the call of duty! Episode 1 was good enough to keep me watching, episode 2 was just terrible.

Would a pathologist really pour petrol over a body and burn it to destroy evidence? Why didn't Harry ring for help from a call box earlier on?

I thoroughly enjoyed it, had me on the edge of the seat even if it was a bit far fetched.

Yep. I loved it too. But I'm mourning spooks. Sooo glad Harry isn't dead.

Surely nobody watches this expecting it to make sense (hey, I even watched The Event). I watch it to leer at Harry, and scoff at Emilia Fox's limited acting talents while admiring her outfits. I thought they could have drawn out the tension over whether Harry was dead for a bit longer though!

Notquitegrownup what happened was that the baddie in the hoodie needed to reload his gun, giving Harry, who was lying wounded on the floor, the chance to glance him with the petrol can. He then fell into the road and was killed instandly by a passing truck. So having checked he was properly dead, Harry then planted his passport on the guy, and put a crown from his tooth into the guys mouth. Then poured petrol on him and burnt him.

I have just about recovered from the emotion ordeal brought on by episode 2 of SW this week.
I just hope next week's is less hard-going, tho I loved every minute of it!
Tee hee, bought a floaty blouse a la Emilia today....I either look like Matron at the weekend or someone officious from the WI! Ipso facto I do not look like Miss Fox one iota. Oh well, who does?

Haven;t watched the second one just couldn;t face it - sobbed too much on Monday and then had shit day at work yesterday and thought I may need medicating if I had to grieve with Nicki.

Now I can watch it whilst doing the ironing on Sunday without worrying about my mental health!

Just watched 2nd episode on catch up and I am relieved that he didn't die! My DS age 11 kept telling me it was Budapest! So so happy. Now can we get back to Blighty!

So he emptied six bullets distance at short distance into Harry's face, and missed, so needed to reload his gun . . .

no, worse than that - after the extreme close-ups of baddie aiming at HArry's face (for maximum drama, and to really ram home that Harry was About To Die), the baddie realises he needs to reload, so calmly puts down petrol can (after shaking it in cocky manner to prove there is petrol in it ), and turns away to reload.

Harry is no longer in agony (despite baddie having stood on his injured knee - with first right foot, then left, presumably to press home how injured Harry was...), and lamps baddie one with the abandoned petrol can

honestly, it was the most ridiculous of get-outs (even thoguh blatantly obvious Harry wasn't dead - they could have at least made it plausible)

and Leo is supposed ot have not recognised Harry stood there firing at the body on the ground as well...

The bloke was dead from being hit by the truck Harry didn't lamp him....

didn't he hit him with petrol can, which is what knocked him into path of truck?

No he just turned to load the gun, Harry looked at the petrol can, looked back to see him being hit by the truck.

I've just finished watching it so I think I'm correct.

May have to rewatch it now

Sorry - dh reckons Harry swung at him with the can, he moved back instinctively and got totalled by the truck

Harry whacked him with the petrol can which caused the hooded guy to fall into the path of an uncoming truck and he was killed instantly. You saw that happen when he explained it to Leo & Nikki and there were flash backs.

Harry is a bit geeky though. Nerdy mouth?
