how old?

neroversuscosta · 11/06/2024 15:08

how will she get home?

ILikeALemonWedgeInMyGin · 11/06/2024 15:31

Bit difficult to answer on your post alone.

5am finish is correct yes, but only on Fridays apparently.

Where is home? If she's got to travel to rural Yorkshire at 5am then I imagine she'd struggle. Islington, not so much.

NewtGuineaPig · 11/06/2024 15:50

It has been a few years since I went but I'm fairly sure I just got on the night bus outside. It's an easy walk to London Bridge station too. There were lots of (probably unlicensed) cabs outside too but I'd avoid them.

Duchess87 · 11/06/2024 17:34

She’s 18 going with a group of friends
apparently it finishes at 5am
we are in London

She’s an adult in her home city.

I totally get why you’re worried. But a) she’ll be fine and b) there’s not much you can do.

Lots of women her age will be studying in London with no parents around, so doing whatever they like!

Edited

i’d offer to pick her up

Duchess87 · 11/06/2024 18:17

It’s south London way to far for me to pick up
I Usually do pick her up when she goes out

i’d offer to pick her up

An 18yo?!
Good grief.
They’ll find a greasy spoon and come home and sleep.

Peonies12 · 11/06/2024 18:21

FGS shes an adult. It’s none of your business what she does. Why on earth are you picking her up. I was clubbing all night from age 16..

yup
I’d offer to pick her up

i generally wake around that time, so wouldnt be a hardship. Driving through empty streets with a coffee to pick up my daughter… i can think of worst things

Lamelie · 11/06/2024 18:44

@neroversuscosta I was an uberanxious, always waiting outside parties mother but by aged 18 with friends in the daylight, I’d definitely leave them to it.

blackcherryconserve · 11/06/2024 18:44

She's 18! Clubbing until the early hours is the norm. I remember doing the same many moons ago. DDs used to get the night buses home. We have always lived in London.

User1979289 · 11/06/2024 18:48

18 😂
Oh man, this place 😂😂😂

Whattodo112222 · 11/06/2024 18:52

Lol she's 18 OP. I thought you were going to say 14.

K0OLA1D · 11/06/2024 18:52

What are you asking op? If she should be allowed to go??

I moved out at 18! She's an adult!

Duchess87 · 11/06/2024 18:57

I don’t understand why so many of you are so judgemental & rude towards me
Of course she’s an adult but it doesn’t stop me worrying London can be a very dangerous place don’t you watch the news .
Shes not wrapped up in cotton wool my question was if any your kids have been to the ministry of sound
Times have changed since you was getting the night bus home

Hardly surprising so many kids have gone off the rails when the parents are wanting their kids out of their hair and allowing them out on the streets late

which is fair enough
I’d offer to pick up 🤷

WhatFlavourIsIt · 11/06/2024 19:11

Well She's 18, so even if you have concerns, she will still go. As for getting home, She'll work it out

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 11/06/2024 19:12

I went to MoS last year. The security is great and the area is busy pretty much 24/7. Providing she leaves and stays with friends to get to the bus or tube, she will be fine.
If you're very worried then order an uber for her.

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 11/06/2024 19:13

Bus and tube are within minutes walk FYI.

SagittariusUprising · 11/06/2024 19:17

It’s right by the tube station in Elephant & Castle. The Northern line starts up at 5, so she could hop straight on a tube. Personally, if I was really worried, I’d make sure she knew my Uber account details in case she got separated from friends so she could get home safely without any drama. But, I’m sure she’ll be fine. I often had the time of my life in that place when I was a similar age — but that’s many moons ago now!

Duchess87 · 11/06/2024 19:51

She’s got her own Uber app thankfully
Thankyou to those of you that sent understanding replies as parents

Spent every Tuesday in ministry when I was that age. I lived in elephant and castle but there are an abundance of night busses and borough/elephant tube station. Failing that a ride from some randoms she meets there 😜 (joking)
