What time do your kids go to bed?

Basically that...

My 11 year old gets in bed anywhere between 10 and 10.30.

My 15 year old tries to push for nearer 11pm. He reckons his mates are all up til later.

This is school term time I'm talking about.

Bedtimes stay pretty similar most nights. Some mornings they are fine and awake before the alarm. Sometimes they are grumpy and tired.

Really not sure what the correct bedtimes should be to be honest. They both stay up til around 11ish on weekends and in the holidays.

Opinion pls. And please be gentle with me... I honestly can't tell if most will say its fine or I'm gonna get ripped to pieces 🤔

My 12 year old Son is in pjs and up in his room at 9-9.30, lights out when we go to bed about 10-10.30. My eldest daughter went to bed a lot earlier at that age though.

At 11 - light out at 8.30pm unless she was at the Scout meeting then she wasn't home until 9pm.

Now with 15 - light out at 9.30pm-ish but it doesn't mean a thing as she has insomnia and may not sleep until midnight anyway. But a regular bedtime at least gives her some rest.

All electronics have to be down by 9pm.

But she is up at 6.30am each day, that was also during primary school.

They all (8,5 and 3) go to bed at 7. DS1 8 can read or draw until 8 and does every night.

DD 13 goes up about 8:30/ 9 then lights out by 10 at the latest but often she has settled by 9:30. She needs to be up about 6:45 so needs her sleep. On weekends she will go much later and sleeps until gone noon if she can.

12 yo -, lights out at 9
8yo -, lights out at 8.30

Up at 6.30 for school

12 and nearly 14: upstairs by 8pm, without screens; lights out between 8.30 and 9pm. Older one has rarely slept past 6.15am; I have to wake the younger one up at 7am - which was 8am before she started secondary school.
