What does this teenage lingo mean?

Yesterday, after school, my daughter (17) was on FaceTime to her friend, and her friend kept saying how it was funny how my daughter 'whitied' (not sure about the spelling, sounds like whiteed) last weekend and my daughter laughed when she mentioned it. Last weekend they went to a party- so I assume it means she got drunk? I don't mind if she did, I'm just not used to teenage talk (I'm 47) so I don't know what the words mean.

If anyone can give me insight as to what this means then it'd be much appreciated Smile

Also means getting sick from weed where I'm from. North West England.

Kikikaakaa · 11/03/2017 12:48

Im London area and it means weed

Kikikaakaa · 11/03/2017 12:49

I think it got this name because if you ever see it happen the person does go very white!

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 11/03/2017 12:49

When I was you it was being sick through weed but I've heard it used purely in relation to sick through alcohol more than cannabis these days.

Yellowmono · 11/03/2017 12:50

The young people I work with (Yorkshire) use it to refer to going drip white and vomiting after a bad experience with weed.

MagnumAddict · 11/03/2017 12:51

It was used for being sick after drink when I was young. West of Scotland

hairypaws · 11/03/2017 12:52

Central Scotland here and used for becoming ill after smoking weed.

Blizy · 11/03/2017 12:53

West of Scotland and it means puking when drinking here.

NerrSnerr · 11/03/2017 12:59

In the midlands and south west it means too much weed.

Alice212 · 11/03/2017 13:00

Isuppose "There's a good programme on Netflix about the effects of cannabis which covers this - apparently it comes from low blood pressure, who knew?"

OMD you just solved a many-years old mystery for me!

Rastel38 · 11/03/2017 13:01

Cheshire here and it's puking after drinking.

Puddington · 11/03/2017 13:03

I'm in NI and most people I know personally use it interchangably for either drink or weed nowadays.

RadiatorWatch · 11/03/2017 13:04

Depends where you are, it usually means throwing up either from drink or weed

passmethewine123 · 11/03/2017 13:08

I'm northwest and the term is fairly interchangeable between weed and alcohol. Generally is you whitey from alcohol you throw up and pass out, whereas with weed you might throw up and then just be totally monged out or you might also pass out.

WorraLiberty · 11/03/2017 13:08

Why don't you ask her?

BettyBaggins · 11/03/2017 13:12

Approx 20 minutes after smoking marijuana our sugar levels fall and that's often when you can get the munchies (hunger) or a whitie (feeling faint).

rightsaidfrederickII · 11/03/2017 13:13

Urban Dictionary is your friend for such queries... www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Whitey

Beelzebop · 11/03/2017 13:14

In some ways I would be far more worried about other drugs, alcohol, spice etc. Of course, bring offered a spliff by a stranger means it could be laced with spice. Now that's a huge danger.

TaliDiNozzo · 11/03/2017 13:21

South East calling. It means being sick after drinking too much. Never heard it applied to drugs before around here.

HeyRoly · 11/03/2017 13:24

I'm in the south east (Essex to be precise) and throwing a whitey meant sick after smoking weed. And that was nearly 20 years ago.

RebootYourEngine · 11/03/2017 13:25

Where i am in north scotland it means being sick through too much drink or drugs. It is also not a new word. I am in my 30s and it was used when i was young.

isupposeitsverynice · 11/03/2017 13:28

Alice Grin it's a really good programme actually, v balanced and sensible. some interesting stuff about the link between cannabis and mental health.

I am SE too - my guess would be that people who don't/didn't hang around with druggie types don't hear it in the druggie context, and clearly its also used in a generally overdoing it context as well. But they were definitely using it for weed related puking when I was at college fifteen odd years ago, and I don't remember there being a similar term for throwing up because you'd drunk too much. Interesting!

TheGirlWithAPrince · 11/03/2017 13:28

Haha when i was young where i lived it ment Smoking weed until your mouth went all dry and White, almost looks like foam without the foamy texture , makes it hard too talk and like no drink will ever make your mouth wet again XD I have done it once and never again... was horrible

isupposeitsverynice · 11/03/2017 13:29

(Or you know, alternatively, I am just not at all interesting, thus I find this conversation fascinating!)

Onemorewonthurt · 11/03/2017 13:30

Yep, throwing up after smoking weed, West midlands here!
