My new tattoo - what do you think?

Inspired by Avatar which is my favourite film (in case you don’t get it). It’s the most ‘out there’ one I’ve had and is much more for me than my others. It’s obviously just been done so the white isn’t as visible as it will be because of a bit of oozing.

I've not seen the film so don't know the reference, but there's nothing better than a brand new tattoo.

I can't see any white on it. I've got a completely white tattoo on my wrist, the artist didn't want to do it because she said it wouldn't last. It's lasted longer than the yellow on my main arm tat she was doing at the same time!

But, looks fab, crisp and in proportion. I love it!

It’s not my thing and it’s very large. As long as you like it that’s all that matters.

Not seen Avatar so that just looks like a broken whisk to me. But if you like it, great. It's your tattoo.

Ooh, the tree(i forget what they call the spirit of the planet) and the arrow that is throughout... love the concept and so unique, plus gorgeous curves and proportions

@DinoLil try zooming in! The left side does have as much as the right.

@Fullofpuddingit is big but also delicate I think. It is admittedly the largest I have unless you count the two that are for my parents which have been merged to look as one (a bird holding a feather in its beak) - I don’t think the bird would be your taste as it’s styled like a very old-fashioned heavy tattoo.

@TennesseeStella, that made me chuckle. It is quite symbolic but you wouldn’t know unless you know. Whisk! 🙄🤣🤣🤣😁

@raysan thank you! It recalls the moment Neytiri was going to kill Jake but Eywah sent a sign. I’m getting on a bit now but for me is about the warrior in me (I can be a bit feisty despite health issues) but I also have a very spiritual side.

@caramac04, thanks. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but feel it really represents me and life’s to short not to do what you want to. (My DSis and DB are probably a bit shocked - or maybe not. 😁)

Haven’t seen avatar but I like the shape of your tattoo! Very large! So good job it’s pretty. What do you mean it’s ’for you’… you have other ones that you didn’t want??

Can we see it? Why white? I like the sound of this just can’t imagine it. Do you need darker skin for it to show? How long is it supposed to last and how long have you had it?

No, I mean they were about other people in my life - the first one for one of my DCs who had been very unwell earlier in their life, my second DC where I had a tattoo reflecting a passion of theirs and mine despite a significant disability and one for each of my parents. All of my tattoos have some form of symbolism for me (including the one that represents my love of holidays in the sun!)

@Devonshiregal, I have posted a picture so I’m not sure why you can’t see it when others can? The white is there to highlight parts of it (when you can see it of course.)

I’m not really into tattoos and I thought it was a fountain! 😂. I did a close up look, and it’s really very intricate. Nice job.

It looks like one of those tingly head massager things.

@GenerousGardener, yes it is - and I got it off the internet and sketched it in myself and I’m not an artist in any way, shape or form. I’m pleased with the way it came out.

I had a new one recently and my back tattoo touched up, and love them both! Didn’t enjoy the itchy stage though

Admittedly it does if you don’t get the reference, but in my defence I think there are plenty of less attractive tattoos out there….

I’ve used bepanthen on my others and I’m also going to use second skin on this one. Another tip is to scratch the skin near the tattoo - it really does work. That way you are not harming the tattoo but satisfying the itch!
