Microblading nightmare

Hi there,

I'm just wondering if someone could please give me some advice?

Please go easy on me, as I already feel stupid enough & just looking for some help and support.

Someone who has done beauty treatments for me in the past & who is very competent began training in microblading. She had put pictures online that looked lovely and I felt that she would be someone I would trust to undertake this work for me.

Unfortunately, it didn't go to plan & I now have one eyebrow higher than the others. I've contacted her about this & she has only apologised that I am unhappy about them, but ultimately thinks that she can correct them & they are not beyond help.

Subsequently, I went to a number of other technicians who have said that they are past help and will need removing!

I've been looking into lasering but it looks so painful. I was just wondering how other people got their microblading removed successfully? I'm wondering whether to wait a while until it's a little more faded before I have the treatment?

Any advice would be massively appreciated!

Shit I'm sorry that's awful! When did you have them done?

timshelthechoice · 19/09/2019 16:44

I think paying privately to see a real dermatologist is your best bet. The NHS won't help as your problem is cosmetic.

MustardScreams · 19/09/2019 16:45

Can you call a local (highly rated) tattoo studio that offers laser treatment and see if they have any suggestions?

Sexnotgender · 19/09/2019 16:46

Can you let them settle and maybe they’ll look better?

How much higher are we talking?

FireCrotch69 · 19/09/2019 16:54

Let them settle, they will fade considerably.
Then look at laser ?

Hanster85 · 19/09/2019 18:03

Hi,

Thanks for responding & not being judgemental - I know I was naive to go to someone still training, but it felt like the right decision at the time 🤷‍♀️

It's not a huge difference and doesn't look too horrendous when I colour them in 😰

I had them done 4 weeks ago. I'll post a picture.

Im just worried about having them lasered so early on, as apparently it can cause scarring. That's a good idea about the tattoo parlour or going private. Would it be a dermatologist I would see about it?

Sorry, you have to click on it to see the whole image there!

Is the uneven height the result of the microbalding or your natural eyebrow shape. One of my eyebrows is noticeably higher than the other.

Hanster85 · 19/09/2019 18:26

If you look closely at the right brow, it doesn't follow my brow line and sort of goes off on its own. I've had to shave the tail of my eyebrow off to hide it, but I'd have two tails if not. My brow is a little higher on one side, but nowhere near that high.

Sorry, actually it will be my right - left on the photo.

They’re not great but probably salvageable if you disguise them with makeup. Not ideal I know!

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 19/09/2019 20:03

Your left eye in the picture is definitely higher than the right. Many people have a stronger side. I would not notice your eyebrows are uneven as they are in line with your eyes.

ponyoponyo · 19/09/2019 20:43

If you look at the picture the bottom edge doesn't quite intersect your pupils equally so it all needs to be tilted slightly. Once you've done that the Brow isn't quite as high up as it seems.

I see what you mean about the left brow (as looking at the image) goes off piste a little but I would say it's not noticeable unless you point it out.

Hanster85 · 19/09/2019 20:46

My eye on one side is definitely a little higher, but my brows were not that uneven before the procedure. I measured the new brow line to the eye and it's 1cm higher than the height of the other.

I just want them removed now though, and looking for advice about the best way to do this :)

That's no where near as bad as I expected! They'll fade dramatically, obviously don't get your 6-8 week top up. On your right eyebrow (the photos right) get a tiny brush with some concealer on and cover the underside in the middle a tiny bit and they won't even be noticeable! Pluck there before you do it and it'll be even less obvious

Corncobb · 20/09/2019 11:45

Shit explanation. This is what I mean just not terribly done like my drawing skills...

Leave them alone until they've really faded, don't waste time on laser on pigment that'll fade dramatically by itself. Everyone who gets brows thinks they've bloody gone before their top up so hold off and you'll get better results if you do yo for removal!

brookelopez · 20/09/2019 11:47

I have microbladed brows and have to avoid products containing acids on my forehead because they cause the tattoos to fade. something like the ordinary retinoids could help lift the colour once there fully healed. they'll also fade a bit more. don't go back for her to 'fix' them!

Corncobb · 20/09/2019 11:47

Useless at attaching too

brookelopez · 20/09/2019 11:52

what is wrong with my shit grammar this morning Grin OP I wanted to add I would not even notice the slightly higher eyebrow if I saw you in person. I think the colour of them is really nice too.

owlonabike · 20/09/2019 11:52

Tbh, it doesn’t look half as bad as I was expecting either. Bear in mind you’re looking at them as a still image ( mirror or photo). In real life your face is mobile and other people are focusing on your expression and what you’re saying, not the precise location of your brows.
I’d worn glasses for forty- odd years before realising that I have one ear higher than the other. I can’t unsee it now but nobody has ever commented.

Katex888 · 20/09/2019 12:13

They don’t look that obvious at all, sorry I can’t be much of a help but I wouldn’t notice them straightaway. Can you use make up until it’s sorted?

peachgreen · 20/09/2019 12:57

I have to say that I disagree with PPs, I think that's pretty shocking - not that you look awful but just that it's so clear where the mistakes have been made and so far below the standards you would expect from a professional.

The main issue is that the arch is too high on the right brow (left on the picture) and the tail has been put in way above your natural browline - I can see where your natural brow actually is and where it should go it.

I think I would grow back your natural brows on the right hand side and hide the microbladed bit with heavy-duty concealer and even them up with a brow pencil for now and let the tattoo fade naturally. So annoying! Personally I'd ask for a refund, there's no way I'd trust her to fix it.

SconeofDestiny · 20/09/2019 13:22

They will fade naturally and they're hardly ridiculous. I think you're being far too critical.
You're more likely to cause long term scarring if you have laser treatment.

QuimReaper · 20/09/2019 13:27

They're not that bad OP Smile The two tails are the most annoying thing as the technician has sentenced you to a life of plucking / shaving your natural brow off. It's a pity she fucked up the placement as they look very natural otherwise.

As others have said, see how they fade before you do anything dramatic.

I must say if I were you I'd be fuming, but to an outsider it's very minor.

Hanster85 · 20/09/2019 14:00

Ah thanks everyone, you have definitely made me feel better but it is right that they are a mess, particularly on the left hand side - you can probably see better on this one.

Maybe I should just wait for them to fade - it feels like they haven't faded that much & just worried she may have done them too deep & they're here to stay! But that's just my own anxiety, I have no reason to think that yet.

I'll buy some of that acidic moisturiser and buy some concealer. Can anyone recommend one? I've been trying Estée Lauder doublewear - but you can still see it through the concealer.

This is a close up of the right brow, you can see my real hair & the brow on top. I've coloured in my real hair, so you can see the microbladed bit on top... it's more obvious in real life.
