No pictures yet they are a bit unsettled .
Two sows, both just weaned away from their litters (part of a huge Rescue).
They were in foster to Rescue to us within a space of 24 hours so they are both a bit What the Jeff?

GP3 is more interested in his dandelion leaves showing a healthy interest Wink

Both are smooth. Both are about 10 months (so only slightly younger than GP3)

GP4 - a tri-colour fawn/black/white with dark eyes , slightly bigger, now called Trinity
GP5- a Himalayan, nails like Freddy Kreuger - I bear the scars- now called Oreo

They will have a settling in period before DD gets her mitts on them.

Squeeee Grin

I've been checking all afternoon for this post I should get out more. What do you mean GP3 is more interested in eating tsk.

GP4 sounds beautiful. I am very jealous of Himmy, they are so cute. Black or chocolate points? Grin @ Freddy Kreuger nails.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/07/2014 20:02

She;s more chocolatey (not that I've had a good chance to scrutinise her, she's like a greased ferret Grin )

I don't think they've been handled much TBH. Both of them are squished into their tunnel.

GP3 is parked in his Hop In tunnel whistling dove like at them
He's not the type to let his love-life get in the way of his important daily business, like food .

They touched noses at the Rescue, Oreo was very impressed (but I'm aware as a red eye , she's probably a bit short sighted. Dill is a red eye too)

Trinity seems to be the braver one.

Oohhh - welcome new piggies Thanks

They sound lovely. claw colour? I'm sure GP3 will be more interested when he has a full tummy and is allowed to interact. Hopefully the girls are tolerant of him.

Good luck with holding your DD back - they sound too cute not to cuddle.

PacificDogwood · 09/07/2014 22:16

Oh, lovely, congratulations and welcome to the new additions to your family Thanks

Will you have to keep them separate from your boys for their own safety?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/07/2014 19:30

We got them out for a cuddle tonight - OMG after lardy boars these girls can shift themselves Grin
They'll get used to us in time, the routine for them and the new surroundings

GP5 (Himmy) has a couple of white claws (the fraudster Wink )
GP4 (tri colour) has a mix of black/white

GP3 is in the Pighouse, they are in the indoor cage inside the Pighouse so they can chatter.
We have strict rules that Dill is taken out forst and put back once the girls are secure just in case one escapes inside the Pighouse.

He's going on Saturday to be 'done', he seems (so far) really contented, just hearing other Pig Voices.

Oooooh!!

Envy Envy Envy

They are gorgeous girlies and I am very happy for them that they have found you, they are lucky souls and am sure they will soon get you wrapped around their claws!!
Xxxx

guineapiglet · 11/07/2014 12:43

Four posts not nearly enough to celebrate their arrival !!!

dietcokeandwine · 11/07/2014 17:50

Lovely pigs 70

Hope they're settling in well!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/07/2014 21:11

We had another cuddle tonight - there are three willing laps (I wouldn't trust DS to hold one)
The girls are nightmares to catch but sit nicely (if in a rather terrified way). GP5 (Himmy) is tiny and the most flighty. GP4 is fairly calm and even cuddled DH while I cuddled our boar.
I'm debating whether to put them in the run tomorrow but they will be demons to catch in there Grin

OP posts:
guineapiglet · 11/07/2014 21:40

Wish I could have a cuddle of them :)

They will soon settle 70 girls are not quite as brave are they, but they are vair feisty once they are sorted....I think they look gorgeous. Maybe a spell In the run will wear them out so cuddle time will be nice and sedate!

FernieB · 12/07/2014 09:00

Very very cute piggies. Dill will be over the moon with those gorgeous girls to snuggle

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/07/2014 16:32

While GP3 is sulking recovering from his operation, we put the new girls in the run for an hour.
Nice fresh bit of grass that isn't littered with GP3 'calling cards'

I don't know if they've been out in a run much, GP5 (Himmy) ran into the bars three times Sad then found GP4 in the tunnel, so parked in there.

SuburbanRhonda · 12/07/2014 21:18

OMG they are gorgeous!

I was thinking that my current sow would be my last as the DCs are now teenagers and only love our GPs in an abstract way, but after seeing yours, and knowing how many are in rescues, I might change my mind ...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/07/2014 22:02

Suburban there is always room for another pig Grin .
Or in the case of GP1, he left such a huge gap, we filled it with two pigs ( I would have maybe gone for a trio if there were three that were what we needed, but thankfully, I didn't. We have out hands full, literally )

DD said today "It's a good job Oreo (GP5) came to us, I don't think anyone else would have understood her Sad )
She is a tiny little girl, I did think if she'd been a pet pig instead of being a breeding pig , she'd be more settled.
It will take time, she's a challenge . And she was scrabbling up onto my neck today (ouch) .

I think she needs to discover there is FUN out there for her, when she's good and ready.
GP4 has got her paws under the table.

GP3 sat by their cage tonight chatting, then went off to his soft fleeces Grin

OP posts:
SuburbanRhonda · 12/07/2014 23:19

They are very lucky piggies. I've noticed with that piggies' personalities can change over the years. Even if they are scared at the moment, once they realise life can be good, I'm sure they'll settle down.

The pig I had who lived the longest (7 years) really came into her own when her cage-mate died. Maybe they weren't meant to be together and old lady pig actually was a bit Greta Garbo on the quiet Smile

PacificDogwood · 13/07/2014 10:15

How is GP3 today, 70?
I hope he is recovering well from his trauma.

I've am beginning to wonder whether we might introduce a couple of sows to our boys, but it would mean both of them would have to go under the knife and it seems a bit unnecessary.

I hope your little herd will knit together v soon.
Smile

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/07/2014 12:39

He's good, thank you Pacific Smile

I gave him early breakfast, there were loads of droppings (normal lozenge shaped ) on his fleece , so I knew they were fresh ones. A puddle of wee at the side of the cage (he'd been chatting "I've had this done for your benefit girls" )

Food and hay-in-a-tube scoffed.
Painkiller administered and troughed down (like my DC with BabyDrugCalpol)

The girls are in their trug, there is evidence of food gone and droppings appearing but as soon as they hear the door open, they leg it .

I wouldn't have gone down this route if GP3 had been a smaller pig TBH (there were some lovely little boars in Rescue ) but I view it as I've rehomed 2, when if I took a boarlette, it would only be 1.

I'm still scratched on my neck from GP5 (little madam) yesterday. I might try wrapping her in a towel tonight Smile to hold her securely and safely.

dietcokeandwine · 13/07/2014 14:16

Glad to hear he's doing well! Is he on Loxicom for pain relief? My two loved that stuff too. Definitely calpol for guineas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/07/2014 14:37

That's the stuff. I was worried about dosing him, but he wolfed it down.

DD and I were admiring his stitches in his little shaved tummy (he's got a couple there and a couple in his 'nads)
