Gah! I bloody HATE weddings.

I really really hate having to dress formally - I always feel like I look like a sad sack of spuds! I'm short and porky and crappy ankle bones means I can't wear heels - I live in converse usually.

Got to go to a wedding and it's bloody 'black tie'! DP will be in a tux.

Anybody able to advise pleeeeeeeeeze?

I'm 5'2", size 16, apple shaped so always look bloody pregnant. Contrary to received wisdom, I am an apple with crap legs so definitely knee length or lower.

So would a maxi be bad for short and round woman? Or what about a sticky out skirt type shape. I JUST HAVEN"T A CLUE!

FellatioNelson, I'm very interested in these Scala undies of which you speak and have sought them out on JL site. Could you give any idea of the sizing? I bought magic undies before that didn't work any magic as I got them too big and have some magic knickers that I can't even get on...
I'm guessing S is about 8-10, M a 12-14 and L 16-18?

I bought the large size when I was a size 16. I have since lost two stone but they still fit fine, though if I were ordering now I would go for medium. They really do reduce cellulite (providing you wear them very regularly) as well -but I couldn't keep up with the hand-washing and drying to turn around one pair each day, so I splashed out and bought three pairs! Don't regret it though - they are fab.

Ta! I may purchase a pair for an upcoming wedding (will wear clothes on top as well).
