Can anyone recommend a bra for someone who is lacking in the breast dep't?

I am seriously flat chested - more so now after breastfeeding 3 children. I would be far too embarrassed to state my bra size on here - can anyone recommend a gel filled bra in a teeny tiny size (broad back though, which makes matters much worse)?

Suggest you look at M&S push up T shirt bra for £12, or they do a pack of 2 for £16. Find on the web. Often out of stock though...

Conundrumish · 09/06/2010 13:25

Thanks Purple - are they padded too?

It's just that I don't have an awful lot to push up

oh oh oh i had this LAST WEEK - thought i wasa 34a as NOTHING there bar deflated whoopie cushions

one measuring sesh at M&S later and i am actually 32C!!! they are nothing to look at without a bra, but with the right one (and we are only talking structured cup, not full blown wonder bra) HELLO DH!!!

the point is go and get measured. it will be worth it and help a lot.

good luck

elliemental · 09/06/2010 13:29

may i recommend chicken fillets?

MayorNaze · 09/06/2010 13:30

it is the circumference of the breast nderneath (IYSWIM?) that boosted the cup size as oppose to the distance norks protrude from body

MayorNaze · 09/06/2010 13:31

alrght ellie

i am tempted by chicken fillets - since discovering norks can actually look decent i am in danger of developing a serious undies fetish...

CuppaTeaJanice · 09/06/2010 13:31

Debenhams do a range called Atlantis which are liquid filled. They add maybe 2 cup sizes, much more substantial than standard padded bras. Fit really well too, and not ridiculously priced (about £15-20?)

I know they come in A cup, not sure about AA.

You can also get back extenders, if you find a bra that fits well everywhere else.

Conundrumish · 09/06/2010 13:33

Thanks Mayor - I'm so so ashamed of them (though proud they fed three children for a long time) that I dread being measured. I think the measuring lady was a bit last time. Will brace myself though.

Ellie - tried chicken fillets but they always felt like they would fall out when I bent over at Toddlers (got very close actually). My old M&S bra had chicken fillets built in to the bra itself buy they have stopped making them.

Can I also suggest getting yourself fitted somewhere like John Lewis. I spent about 20 years in ill fitting 36AA bras (courtesty of M & S). Finally got round to JL, and came out a 32C with the best fitting bra I've ever owned.

MayorNaze · 09/06/2010 13:35

go for it. i was always v at those quotes you hear "oh 99.9999% of women wear the wrong sized bra" and also "the right bra can change your life" but actually now i def agree with the second and am to think i was one of the first!!!

twolittlemonkeys · 09/06/2010 13:41

pinkpanettone, I'm in the same boat, different people have measured me as 32B/ 32C/ 34B and once 36A! I was 34DD when BFing DC, which was the only time I haven't felt really self-conscious about lack of boobs. None of my bras feel quite right after BFing 2 DC so I need to go and get measured again. I always go for extra padded, gel filled cleavage enhancing bras!

pagwatch · 09/06/2010 13:48

If you have the cash find an independent lingerie store.
I had bra fittings at M&S and La senza and House of Fraser. All shit.

I found a fantastic lingerie shop locally, cahtted with the lovely young woman working in their and she helped me find styles of bra that fit and give me a shape.
I am same as you - flat chested and post three children yet she found three bras the first visit.

Some of the European brands are made better with softer and better cut straps and seem to work better than M&S who often have nice cuts but crap materials.

I bought some by Chantelle and another brand I can't remember ( I will look it up)

I go twice a year and they last really well.I am getting used to waht suits me.
The best thing is they are beautiful and I feel much more feminine in them

MayorNaze · 09/06/2010 13:51

YES much more feminine - is a lovely feeling

Hathor · 09/06/2010 13:52

Some nice ones here.

Romanarama · 09/06/2010 14:00

There are lots of gel and air-filled ones on figleaves site.

Conundrumish · 09/06/2010 16:24

Thanks Hathor and Romanarama for those links (could have sworn figleaves didn't do smaller sizes last night when I looked, but they seem to now).

I have to say I've tried several gel filled bras and they are uncomfortable. I wear wonderbra's day in day out and they are really comfortable.

purplepeony · 09/06/2010 16:34

Yes, the M&S push up bras are padded with a kind of "shelf" half way up the cup.
I have now gone from a 34A to a 32C and as I can get the 32C fastened on almost the last (tightest) hook, I expect I could wriggle into a 30D!
Meaure under your boobs round rib cage and do NOT add anything to that measurement. I measure just over 30 inches- almost 31, and about 35 round the fullest part of my boobs.

purplepeony · 09/06/2010 17:53

I can also recommend the M&S Cerisso range- as long as you go for the uplifting push up ones- I have a few and they do really work!

wigglybeezer · 09/06/2010 18:03

I found that triumph Amourette are the only ones that give me a decnt shape and don't ride up (they aren't padded though, but I look less flat in them, was seriously deflated after ds3 was weaned).

catinthehat2 · 09/06/2010 18:03

If you go for padded of any description, there is only one version that has any effect, and you will probably only find one or (if lucky) two in somewhere like M&S.

So, for every likely bra, you need one with the bulkiest bit of padding at the SIDES of the cup, so that your meagre boobs are squeezed to the centre and you may get a bit of something like cleavage.

They are surprisingly rare, and that is why I go round squidging every sigle bra in a shop. It is not because I am a Pervy McPerve.

minko · 09/06/2010 18:13

I second Wiggly in recommending Triumph bras. The Amourette is the best bra I ever bought. Their t-shirt bras are very good too. Expensive (all about £25) but worth it.

By the way OP, I am the same as you in not wanting to get measured. I was a 36A, but have lost a stone with Weightwatchers and now they are even smaller and I can't face the tape measure ladies. My DD told me they look like old balloons on holiday last week too... what an ego boost that was!

purplepeony · 09/06/2010 18:19

www.marksandspencer.com/Ceriso-Lingerie-Collections-Lingerie-Underwear-Womens/b/43237030?ie=UTF8&ie= UTF8

I can recommend any of these in the top 2 rows- where they say push-up.

I have the zebra stripy one, the blue & lace one and the plain white lace one- and they all do wonders.

darkandstormy · 09/06/2010 18:43

I am a 34b and last week I bought a BHS 5 way bra, it makes my boobs lool massive, to the point I actually look like I have a cleavage,so have a look at those I would reccomend.
