is it worth the humiliation ?

SkipHopJump · 02/06/2010 17:18

It is V humiliating but it is better than a diy. And lasts longer. When I had one done it started coming off 7 days later from elbow creases. Lasted about 2 weeks in total.

brimfull · 02/06/2010 17:26

what about creases under my saggy arse area-I noticed these the other day in changing room mirror
do you have to bend over ??

hahaha omg
I'm never gonna do it am I?
i just wouldn't have the balls

OP posts:
SkipHopJump · 02/06/2010 18:30

Yes you have to bend over. They make you get in terrible positions and then make conversation like 'you going anywhere nice on holiday?'

Ha. I block this out of my memory!

Cabatach · 02/06/2010 18:39

I had a spray tan last Thursday and it is still going strong! I love them - it looks so much better than doing it yourself with cream. Lots of people have also told me how well I look as well.

Only wish I could afford them on a regular basis and to be honest it isn't that embarrassing!

brimfull · 03/06/2010 00:42

did you stand inyour undies only no bra??
I think I would at least need to wear big pants

OP posts:
Cabatach · 03/06/2010 10:07

Stood in my pants - could have used their paper ones if you wanted too. I'm not one for flashing my chest but it wasn't embarrasing - I wouldn't let that put you of going.

brimfull · 03/06/2010 11:35

Did it ruin the pants?

OP posts:
Cabatach · 03/06/2010 16:26

Yes, pants not looking their best now so don't wear your best undies! Also, try and get the last appointment of the day and bring your pjs to go home in. If driving, of course....

Would also try and get hold of some tan extension cream such as Johnsons as it really does make a difference to the life of your tan.

brimfull · 04/06/2010 00:06

ooh great tips thanks
am building up the courage now

numptysmummy · 04/06/2010 11:13

i like to think of the spray tan lady as a kind of doctor - i.e they've seen it all before! I've had 2 now and they are so worth a moment of slight embarrasment. They make you feel great!

brimfull · 04/06/2010 11:38

so do you have to plan it to hide from the world for the first day after the spray?

OP posts:
Cabatach · 04/06/2010 12:35

Nooo!! The first day after the spray tan is the best! Last Friday, three people said I looked so well and had I just come back from holiday?!

Just take the plunge and go for it - you will be converted!

nappyaddict · 08/06/2010 15:53

Cabatach Which extension cream have you got?

nappyaddict · 08/06/2010 15:58

Have heard if you moisturise with an oil free moisturiser 2-3 times a day it will start coming off after a week and lasts 2 weeks in total. If you don't shower every day it lasts longer I think.

nappyaddict · 08/06/2010 16:13

BTW if you get one wear flip flops, no bra and loose dark clothing for after. I didn't and some rubbed off

nappyaddict I was a bit of a mug and bought the Fake Bake Tan Enhancing Lotion (was a Fake Bake spray tan I had!). However it is very good and I will buy again...!

Am going on holiday to Spain in October half term and already booked my spray tan for the day before we leave

trumpton · 08/06/2010 20:07

I am a great fan of spray tan just before holiday. I wear old knickers and book last spray of day so can go home in old soft clothes without bra. I have been using a moisturing daily tan cream since I got back from holiday and even with no make up am getting " you look well " comments. If you have had children how can you possibly be embarrassed by having a spray tan ?

jenduff · 08/06/2010 20:55

am normally milk bottle white but had a spray tan last week and its still looking good - i did exfoliate and moisturise religiously before though which helps prep the skin - went with a friend who didnt do that and hers is going really patchy.

May go slather on some holiday skin now to see if i can make it last even longer.

brimfull · 14/06/2010 21:05

thanks have jsut seen recent replies
I should book it soon I guess

OP posts:
brimfull · 14/06/2010 21:06

dh says I'll have to tie strings to my nipples to hold my tits up so there isn't white underneath

OP posts:
navyeyelasH · 14/06/2010 21:20

I did have white patches under my boobs when I had mine and I don't even have children to blame it on!

I'm having another one soon and I'm going to ask them to spray under boobs this time I'll have to stretch up I guess!

Does that mean I have saggy boobs ?!?!

seb1 · 14/06/2010 23:22

Go to a automatic booth less embarrassing

kittya · 14/06/2010 23:27

They make you lift your boobs up. Its fades better than diy. I find the ones you do yourself soon go patchy. What brand are you going for? I like fake bake.

Eaglebird · 15/06/2010 00:06

Does spray tan stink like fake tan cream?
Just curious.

nappyaddict · 15/06/2010 11:42

There's a slight smell but nothing as bad as the DIY stuff.
