I bought these for my daughter months ago

I waited for it to get sunny and got them out the other day, they fit perfectly.

I put her in the carseat and we went to the park,

after walking for about 15 mins in them (shes only 18 months old) I noticed her foot,

this is what they did to her!!

Should I email the company? Has anyone else had them and they've cut their babies feet?

ZZZenAgain · 01/06/2010 12:31

that's terrible, your poor little girl. Definitely email the company or write with the photos.

liahgen66 · 01/06/2010 12:32

definately and attach pics, thats awful

belgo · 01/06/2010 12:32

how horrible.

I steer clear of plastic shoes for this very reason, but I didn't expect them to do so much damage!

Your poor dd.

jeepers that's horrible! Is your dd ok?

Gigantaur · 01/06/2010 12:32

omg that is awful.

did she have socks on with them?

I think these jelly type shoe's can be quite hard until they are worn in.

My top tip for jelly shoes is to put them through a hot wash in the machine. it softens the plastic so that they don't rub. #

But those pictures are awful so yes, you should complain to verbaudet

fuzzywuzzy · 01/06/2010 12:33

Email the company with pictures, that's awful, your poor little girl hope she's ok.

piratecat · 01/06/2010 12:33

my god. how did she walk at all?

HellBent · 01/06/2010 12:33

Holy shit, that looks awful! Was she complaining it was sore?

ZZZenAgain · 01/06/2010 12:33

I would have thought they were only intended for walking on the beach to avoid cutting the feet on sharp stones etc but I suppose with heat and grains of sand etc, the effect would be about the same there.

RockRose · 01/06/2010 12:35

god that is terrible. Deffo complain, but bear in mind jelly shoes at that age should be worn with socks for that very reason. Poor dd.

AuntieMaggie · 01/06/2010 12:35

that is shocking - I always used to wear jelly shoes when I was younger and never had any problems!

Disenchanted3 · 01/06/2010 12:37

No shes only 18months so didn't say anything,

The photos on the site has the child sockless so I assumed you didn't need socks on, i thought that was the point of them?

It wasn't anything cutting her foot other than the sandal.

daddywillbehomesoon · 01/06/2010 12:38

that's dreadful - definitely get in contact with them.
sounds silly but they aren't too small are they? the boys wear crocs in the summer 9we live in South Africa so it's practical, my excuse) and if they are just almost getting to the end of the size, they start to rub a bit
your poor daughter though

belgo · 01/06/2010 12:38

you shouldn't need to wear socks with them, that defeats the object.

Definitely email the company with the photos.

Disenchanted3 · 01/06/2010 12:54

Definatly not too small, I wouldn't have put them on her if I din't think they fit well.

bloody hell,i would be on the phone asap...that is shocking.poor little thing..hope she's ok

lucysmum · 01/06/2010 12:56

i have had several arguments about summer shoes including Doodles (admittedly not plastic ones) with shoe shop assistants who say they should be worn with socks to avoid blisters etc. - and they are probably right especially for toddlers. To be honest, I wouldn't put a little one in plastic shoes - if they sweat and/or get a little bit of sand in them they will do this to delicate baby skin - like flip flops on an adult. Crocs seem to be better for this though. Bare feet best of all.

Disenchanted3 · 01/06/2010 12:59

I see that now Lucy, but I guess I just thought the point of them was not to wear socks.

I've never bought any before and was suckered in because they looked 'cute' and I thought they woukld be comfy and open for her.

Will def only be socks and shoes now
